P = principle R = rate (per annum) T = time (years). Simple intrest is when you put money into a bank or take a loan from one. Over time the money naturally increases and you owe them more, but this is how you calculate it. I = PxRxT (intrest = principle (amount taken or invested x rate (6% or whichever) x time (amount of years)). I'm too lazy to do compound intrest formula, but you get more from it because it adds the intrest to the amount of money you gave a bank, giving you more intrest as time goes on.
