Awesome video, just got a bike with this system but it there a way to manually turn on/off the backlight? I've not been able to find anything on this !
Excllent video thank you , just regarding the tourqe sensor volatage mine is staying at 0.5 volts. Is there a easy remidy for this or will a new tourqe sensor be required ? Thank you again
If you turn on the bike and let it sit for 5 mins this resets the toque sensor. If this does not work we suggest your reach out to Yamaha for more information.
Dear sir great video but my problem isn’t discussed here. Recently my bike has stopped pedal assistance. Although the walk assist works. The range written on the meter is blinking. I don’t know what has happened to my bike. Please help.
Manual s.tates it could be one of the following: 1.(Even if the wheel where the speed sensor is installed rotates, the value displayed on the speedometer section of the display unit does not change from “0”.) Try new speed sensor 2. (When the wheel where the speed sensor is installed rotates, the speed is displayed on the speedometer section of the display unit.) This is not a malfunction. It is in a state that the operation of the power assist system is normal. This state may occur depending on the pedaling strength and riding speed, but it returns to normal condition if it is confirmed that the system is normal. 3. (When charging while the battery is installed to the bicycle) This state may occur during the battery in ternal temperature is -20°C or less or 80°C or higher, but it returns to normal condition if battery internal temperature returns to the normal temperature range
Great video, judging by the amount of comments i'd guess the yamaha is a usually very reliable system. However, I had an error 73 on my display but your list of errors only goes up to 62. Would you know what 73 is? I've cleared it by remaking and waterproofing my connections, but would like to know what you think. Thanks.
@@saschakumant9056 It's a misleading battery error caused by Water getting in and is sitting on one of the chips on the lower edge of the pcb board in the motor. Don't try to use the motor, take it apart and carefully dry it out.

Error 71: Can't not receive data from battery correctly. You would first want to replace the receptacles wires on the bike and if this does not fix the issue you might need a new battery.
I got my bike yesterday (Yamaha Crosscore RC) and during the first ride my display and motor assist turned off every 5 to 10 seconds. After reseating the battery, I got error 68 after driving several kilometers without issues. And then after rebooting the display, it went back to shutting down every 5 to 10 seconds after another few kilometers. I would also like to know what's causing this.
I gotta say. I had it in de beginning. But after a couple of times of removing and inserting the battery again, the error is now gone and the bike is fine. So I assume it has something to do with bad connection of the battery.
Small update on the error 68 or full shutdown issue. Apparently, there's a known issue in the PW ST motor series where static electricity builds up and causes it to malfunction. The fix is to apply additional electrical insulation of some kind inside the motor, but only Yamaha Japan is allowed to do so. So you need to get in contact with your bike dealer to get your motor swapped to a new or revised one. I got my bike back from repair yesterday and so far haven't had any issues.

My speed on the display is constant 0 and the assist isn’t working. Help please
Speed sensor or pick up magnet on rear wheel.
I’m a little late to the party but the information portion on my display (range, trip etc) keeps flashing and the assist doesn’t work, any tips?
My bike is also having this problem 😔

hey did you find the solution? For me, "range" is flashing and there is no speed, just 0 all the time. Ofc motor doesn’t work…
