The position of the snap is not for the diving action (the "diving" is unimportant for the fishing method) it is the setting for how much vibration you want the lure to make when jerking or spinning it. Because traditionally you spinnfish with these kind of lures.
Those double treble hooks are a nightmare, even though I always pinch the barbs. If you have to release the fish, and that second treble hook is getting stuck in that fish's eye, it feels terrible. I catch walleye by trolling single-single or single-treble hooks so I can let the big breeders go unharmed. But where I live I have to release a lot of fish so that makes a difference.
I use just a size 6 octopus hook and a night crawler. I use a three way swivel an 18" leader and. 8 ounce pyramid weight. I fish off the land though too
Not sure if its a stupid question, but with lures that come with a snap included (on chatterbaits and blade baits), if you are using your own snap, do you replace the lure's snap with the one you have tied on, or have connect the snap to the lure's snap? (Say that 10 times fast). Please and thanks for any feedback. I prefer using snaps opposed to tying directly to line.
We do a lot of jigging from the shore in the Detroit and St Clair Rivers (michigan and ontario). Look up Win City Outdoors or Buck Fishes for some pretty grest how to's. Never tried blade baits but I think I'm going to have to pick a few up. These look fun and productive.
Yup, both ways can produce. I vertical jig if I see them on the graph, if I don’t see them, then I cast and retrieve it bouncing on the bottom. (Seek and destroy)
Pretty short for us pnwesters lol. I do agree though 20-30 is quite the overkill for walleye but I think the heavy line isn’t for the fish but to avoid breaking off on snags and debris since they’re river fishing.

Great video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I have a handful of blade baits but have had no confidence in how to use them.
I’ve had good luck, sometimes better that using jig and minnow. I pull up almost 2 ft with very good results.

@@ML-ks2lj this is how I fish walley on a river as well, but I use a pickerel rig so that I have 2 water columns covered.
Never fished for walleye. This video makes me want to
Great video. I totally get it now with blade baits. I’ve been doing it wrong the entire time. Thank you.

Tie the line to the snap, don’t use a swivel with blade baits and they have nicer action and don’t foul on the line as much IMO
What boat is that, lots of fishing room
pretty fish
Wish we have walleye in Houston TX
Great video but 20-30 pound braid backbone for Walters? I mean whatever works I use 10-15 subscribed

There are a few youtube videos regarding walleye fishing from shore. Also, a google search brought up some articles about it.

Can you fish for walleye from the bank?
Yes I’ve heard you can but we’ve never done it.
I live 2 miles downstream of Chief Joe Dam. Love walleye fishing. We got monsters. Hit me up. Maybe we can trade a secret
Great Walleye video but I would like to see more Trout fishing.
Boat info?
Why do you use 20 - 30 lb test line. Most walleye are less than 10 lbs
River fishing, debris on the bottom, ability to horse a fish out of stumps, trees, etc.
Not the same weighted head 😮
Shorter rod? 7’6” 20-30 lb line but not to heavy. Wow
Seems pretty heavy and long to me. I run 6’6” with 8lb line
Pretty short for us pnwesters lol. I do agree though 20-30 is quite the overkill for walleye but I think the heavy line isn’t for the fish but to avoid breaking off on snags and debris since they’re river fishing.
I run a 7'0" with 17 pound fluorocarbon
Those the fish eating all the smolts ugh
I dont think i have it in me to take advice from someone who fishes in green latex gloves....
😂😂im sorry but when you said you use 30lb braid to catch walleye I realized youre just learning yourself
When you made this comment I realized you didn't know what you were talking about.
Lol go ask daddy for a ride to the baitshop maybe you can get a big boy rod and put 10lb braid on like a man 🤣🤣🤣
Love the walleye vids 👍
