Just got a Super Crush head last week, these are great amps! Great for recording too, going from the FX send DI and then adding cab IR's in post. I prefer to do it that way because then the master volume can be super quiet for home recording, and I'm not a fan of the built-in analog cab sim. The amp also boosts really well with an OD pedal. The SD-1 is a great pair with this amp for tightening and adding a bit of gain for Metal tones. It's interesting to me that so many amp and pedal makers are coming back to the analog way of modeling a tube amp circuit (Jfets, etc.) that Tech 21 started all those years ago, and are really perfecting it. The SC seems to be a new level on that path. It has great dynamics, I can go from barely dirty to saturated gain without having to change channels, just by varying pick attack.
Wow , Nick is getting up there in age !! Not that age makes ANY difference when it comes to metal/music. A fact that I've always appreciated and respected. Plus , SEE YOU....... has got to be one of the top ten greatest metal anthems EVER !!! It always will be in my book , anyway !!
I recognized it too!!!! Sounded like "I don't Believe in Love" by Queensryche!!!! This orange amp sounds incredible!!!! For a "Solid State" amp!!!!🤗😄🤗😄 Have a great day!!!!
The 6:05 mark convinced me to buy. I cannot get that aggressive tone out of my CR120, even using a closed back orange cab. Overdrive pedals in front seem to take away too much girth to my ears. The CR120 is a very good amp but I will still get this one.
They should really make a super crush mini head. I have the Orange Crush 60 combo but even that tends to get too loud for home use sometimes. Would get the 100 watt one if my family wouldn’t be bothered by it haha
I use the SC at really low volumes and it sounds great. Don't let the wattage put you off of it. It can get loud for sure at 100W but since this a clean SS power section, it's going to sound just the same at really low volumes unlike a tube amp.
I love these new Super Crush Amps I just ordered my new combo I am one of the first ones to buy one of these new Amps but I won't get it till November I can't wait. I get to give my Mesa Boogie a break I practice about 4 hours a day and my new Orange Amp is perfect I don't have to waste my tubes anymore and I don't have to break my back anymore thanks for the Awesome video Nick🙂🎸🎵🎶🤘.

Good comment. If I throw a BBE sonic stomp and an overdrive pedal in front of the dirty channel, will it be good? Know what I mean, OD pedal acting as boost, not necessarily even putting the grit up? I think this is the amp for me, I like Orange Rock tone.
@@saltpeter7429 ...ya man, that bbe sonic stomp has some serious mojo about it, better than an eq....im gonna get a friedman buxom boost for mime when it comes in. Friedman pedals are also very good...i own that bbe sonic stomp as well so i know it sounds awesome.
@@kderby2204 Oh hell yeah! I got mine a month ago. Best 100w head for the $499 price tag. Great dirt channel and nice creamy sounding clean. With my MXR Full Bore distortion pedal into the clean channel it is total magic! You'll soon see how this thing is winning everyone over. It definitely sounds, feels and responds like a valve amp. Once again a Sweetwater demo pushes me over the edge to buy an amp lol. Most of the demo's I've seen of this amp pretty much nail what you hear when you get it home. It's quite a remarkable piece of gear. Only problem is with that awesome orange tolex you HAVE to get an Orange cab to match it or it just looks off lol. Trying to decide which one I'm going to get. That 4x12 sounds awesome but I'm about Nick's age and I'm done hauling around 80/100 pound cabs lol.
I was looking at picking one of these up for my first major amp and was just wondering if it matters which output jack I plug my cab into like between the 8ohms or the 16ohms I figure it doesn’t matter because there’s 2 jacks and it says u can use 2 16ohms cabs but I just want to be sure.
Hi. I recently bought the combo version for my daughter who’s learning and lives out of state and I was wondering if the combo version can later be still be paired with a 4x12 cabinet?
Hi, JWH. Orange redesigned the power section on the new amps so they are closer to the type of tone and response you'd expect from a tube amp. They also added a cab emulated output so that you can easily plug in direct to a live PA, or a recording interface. Thanks for your interest! would this 100 watt head work with a prs 1x12 75w cab? been an orange fan for a long time but i thought i give the prs cab a try. current using a soldano slo mini with the prs cab.
Hi, Lordraven29. You could definitely use those together. The head is only going to be putting out 100W if you have it completely cranked across the board. Since the odds are low that you'll ever need to do that, the 75W cab should handle it with no problem. Thanks for your interest! Charlie Davis, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1320, charlie_davis@sweetwater.com
Hi, Hally - Thanks for your message! As long as the impedance of the head and cabinet match then you can pair them with each other. Speakers that handle more wattage will not break up as quickly leading to a “tighter” more defined sound than if the head exceeded the capacity of the cabinet. You end up hearing more of the amp distortion as compared to the amp combined with the speakers distorting. Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them! Robert Williams, Senior Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 2371, robert_williams@sweetwater.com

Hey video director, stop having the person taking not looking at the camera. That was old and tired back in the 1990s on Men’s Warehouse commercials. Lol.
Why would anyone buy a 100w solid state Orange amp - it's not even versatile for an SS amp. And look how big it is haha. If you want a valve like Orange buy one of their valve amps :)
The crush series including the head has sold like no tube amp has since the original tiny terror. Orange easily sells double or three times the SS amps (micro terrors, stamps and crushes) than the valve ones. They are just far more accessible to many players who can't sink upwards of a grant into an amp and Orange as a company basically is one of the major players in the SS market. Low to mid tier gigging musicians have began to use the crush 120 over the last years because its cheaper, lighter and less prone to getting damaged on the road.
No Tube issues - No Biasing - better for WEIGHT & Mobility reasons , Solid State ( Analogue) is far more durable than Tube - No warming up or cooling down issues needed before or after Gigging . If it sounds great why not ? Solid State made a huge SOUND improvement in recent years !
@@motorrebell I'm seriously tempted to go for something like this... Used valve amps for years. Just when you're enjoying it the most, you can pretty much guarantee a valve will go microphonic or develop a rattle. Plus valve combos are back-breakingly heavy.

While other amp makers tried to make their amps sound like a hundred others, Orange made their solid state sound like a real amp. Bravo Orange
i like using plugins but not digital amps but oranges are analog idk if they ever had an amp where the main distorted sound is digitized
Funny, I've never been big on Orange (don't hate them, just don't love them), but this may be one of the best solid state heads I've ever heard.
This gentleman's personality and playing just made me buy this head. Love this guy!
Kudos for showing how much gain you can get from the “clean” channel. Nobody else is doing that so far.
Nick's playing is on point in this video and honestly, every video I've seen of the Super Crush has been excellent. Really good sounds.
