The tip down carry also allows for grabbing the Spydy-hole and dropping the handle with little adjustment. I also agree that a redesign would be a real winner if done true to its purpose.
Edc is such a marking gimmick, edc literally means every day carry, and as such, there is no such thing as an "every day carry task" you may want to use the word utilitarian or utility task, you can edc a baton, brick, or Lego if you want Cheers
Built for the police as a backup weapon, next to the Glock 17, since the 1980's (the first model was tip down left hand only). I like the Delica 4 personally, smaller and lighter. Your right, not an EDC but a classic specifically built for law enforcement. I have one and it is one well made knife which any Spyderco lover should own.
you say several times its for police/first responder tasks not edc.... quit the bull shit. its designed as an offensive weapon period. this as any knife can do routine cutting, but this knife is "DESIGNED" to be an offensive weapon plain and simple.
got military and can't sharp it to first edge .....really hard to sharpen and also got endure 4 with vg10 and its very very easy to sharpen and thats why its my daily knife
Good review Zel. I bought a second Yojimbo 2 the other day as a backup in case ever discod. IMO the most ergonomic handle (Manix 2, 2nd) of any Spyderco with wicked blade... The Police blade is too long for me. I don't like the narrow handle. I think Spyderco makes many handles that are nice and narrow in pocket but not so good in hand..
Judging or not, hmmm doesn't matter. The matter is that Spyderco doesn't give the option for tip up, therefore making this knife go against the muscle memory of the majority of knife carriers. "Spydie Drop" is an invalid argument, Spyderco neither designs for it or promotes that method in any environment, nor should law enforcement agencies. 100% control of a weapon or tool is paramount. Using VG10 is also a slap to our men and women in law enforcement, at a minimum, if law enforcement is where this design is marketed today, the knife should have S35VN, less maintenance, fairly easy to sharpen. Now, the model in the video is about 10 years old and in its prime, it was a proper knife for its intended purpose. However, the world has moved forward.
Hmmm. It's been my EDC knife for 20 years. Lol
Me too.
I’ve EDC’d this one for 20yrs. Love it. Lost 1, now on my 3rd one ;)
I carry the Lightweight version with K390. Because it’s full flat grind, it’s perfectly fine as an edc.
Git this with the plain edge and have been carrying it for about 7 years now its wonderful
Das gleicher Spyderco gibt es mit einem festgelegten Taschen klipp, ist dieses Modell auch Orginal?
Danke für das Clip
Police MODEL IS THE BEST!!!!!!
You gave great detail! Liked and subscribed!

thanks. having a hard time waiting for mine now.

nice review. like that blade. never realized it was so thin. tyfs
I didn't realize it till, I set it next to a Military and then it was obviously extremely thin!
Thanks for watching and have a great day!
i was wondering if you would be interested in selling this knife? i really love it
No, it is in my brothers permanent collection. Sorry my friend

A little traction tape helps with those smooth sides.
Yes it would.
Thanks for watching and have a great day!
“it’s not an EDC knife by any means… if you want to EDC it you can and it’s gonna work fine for you…” wut? 🥴
I like that spyderco military and the paramilitary2 is pretty cool too!
Me too, the military group of knives from spyderco is a great line.
Thanks for watching and have a great day!

I think the new G10 police has K390 (not M390) steel, instead of VG10 if you want to upgrade the steel.
Is it safe?
Great review man!

Thanks Thomas!
I'd like to look at a Yojimbo, it's one of the few Spydercos that I haven't had in hand.
Thanks for watching and have a great day!
I Like it!! great review!

Not a knife I'd own but Spyderco builds them well.
You're right, they are well built and I wouldn't own one either. Still cool though.
Thanks for watching and have a great day!
