1/ Cassidy, you could say she's William's niece.
2/William and Cassidy's relationship was very strong before William killed Cassidy in a moment of anger and recklessness.
3/Does Cassidy still love William as a former? The answer is certainly not the same as before, I can not say that she likes him or not, but not like the previous one for sure!
4/William is a mentally ill character who still kills children, but Cassidy was like a younger sister to him, who used to resort to him at a time of grief and loss.
5/Cassidy was raised by indifferent parents so she doesn't feel nostalgic for them after her murder by William but she didn't want to die after all.

I really like this detail in your AU. Not that I really consider it canon, but something close to it. It seems that William planned to kill only four children, and Cassidy was not part of his plans at all, but he was forced to do it (if she is his daughter, then it hits even harder)
