5 Difficult Challenges of the Journey to Heaven that Believers Must Pass “My Lord, I am not worthy to be a resident of Paradise. And also not strong enough to face the fire of Jahim Hell. . . . Every day my age continues to decrease. Meanwhile my sins continued to increase. How shall I bear it?” (Abu Nuwas). This poem is from a famous Muslim poet. His name is Abu Nuwas. The contents very well describe what's on my mind (Zafira). Because I feel a lot of sin. So the journey to heaven becomes very scary. I always think about what happens after death. What are the obstacles for the human soul to reach heaven? The following is my story of finding peace of mind. I'm sure, if there is certainty of going to heaven, there must be peace of mind. Basic Questions that Continue to Haunt? I am a teacher at a Public Middle School. I am quite close with the students. So we often talk. My students often ask many things. One of them they want to know how to get to heaven. What are the obstacles to the journey to heaven that a Muslim needs to go through. At first I just answered simple. That humans will surely die. Therefore we need to live piously and do a lot of good deeds. However, this answer did not satisfy them immediately. Many more questions regarding the details of human condition after death. This makes me personally also curious. So I took the time to study it. 5 Obstacles to the Journey to Heaven I discovered that there are many obstacles on the way to heaven. We as Muslims need to go through all of these things. 1. Sin and charitable burden as long as we live. The first challenge is that during our lives we need to obey all of His laws. And we need to do charity to cover sins. “. . . And fear Allah, and know that you will be gathered to Him” (Qs 2:203). However, I realize that we humans must make a lot of mistakes. There is no way our charity will be enough to cover sins. This is just the first hurdle. Which in my opinion, is very hard for us to live in life. 2. The realm of the grave (the realm of Bazrah). It is a realm of waiting before heading to the afterlife (Qs 23:100). Even when in the grave, humans will receive heavy obstacles. That is to bear various punishments which are the punishment for all his sins. For example, humans will get a view of how suffering in hell will be (Qs 40:46). In addition, humans will get hit by an iron sledgehammer repeatedly (Bukhari Hadith No.1285). Not to mention various other torments. For example exposed to hell fire. The graves are so narrow that the bones are crushed. And accompanied by scary creatures as the embodiment of bad deeds (Hadith Ahmad No.17803). All of this is multiplied for humans who are big sinners. For example, if you have committed adultery, you will suffer greatly. “. . . whoever does that (including adultery). . . (namely) the punishment will be multiplied for him on the Day of Judgment and he will remain in that punishment, in a state of humiliation” (Qs 25:68-69). 3. When calculating and considering (Yaumul Hisab and Yaumul Mizan). This is the time when all human deeds get a reckoning. The more severe the charity or sin will be clearly seen (Qs 7:8-9). Allah knows best that no sin, even the slightest, escapes His sight. Even mistakes that we are not aware of, He will know it. Everything will be on the scales! "And whoever does a particle's weight of evil, surely he will see (reply) too" (QS 99:8). By the time this happens, are you sure there will be more charity than all sins? 4. Shiratal Mustaqim Bridge. After completing the calculation, each soul will pass through the Shiratal Mustaqim bridge. For those who do a lot of charity, it will be easy to get through it. But for most people it will be very difficult. Like crossing a bridge smaller than a strand of hair. “. . . slippery place that can slip. There are iron scrapers, iron hooks and iron spikes. . . There are those who are torn to pieces delayed and there are those who are thrown into the hell of Jahannam. . .” (Muslim Hadith No.269). After seeing just these four hindrances, I am so disturbed! There are many questions that keep filling my mind. Especially how can I be sure that I will finally get to heaven? Isn't this a question that many Muslims are also worried about? 5. Heaven or hell. The end of human life will be somewhere in between. That is heaven or hell (Qs 4:56-57). A place where humans receive eternal blessings or punishment. The Scriptures of all religions describe hell as a place of horror full of eternal suffering. Of course I as a human being feel afraid. Because they do not know how God's decision. Will He accept or reject me later. I find there are indeed a lot of questions on this subject. Because of that there are various answers from religious experts. Answer 1: In general, the answer is that we will definitely go to heaven. “Every one of my people will enter paradise except those who are reluctant. . . . Whoever obeys me will enter heaven and whoever disobeys me means he is reluctant” (Bukhari Hadith No. 6737). But when I read, this Hadith still contains prerequisites. That is, it is necessary to obey all religious orders. Don't we as human beings certainly have mistakes and sins? So it is very difficult to get the assurance of certainty in heaven. Even the punishment of the grave is already a very terrible suffering! Answer 2: The next answer is that Muslims will eventually go to heaven. But must go through God's punishment first. That is, if you fall from the Shiratal Mustaqim bridge, you will be punished. Allah will leave him there until the end of his sentence. If later there is goodness then it will be lifted up to heaven. The problem is that we cannot know God's judgment. There is no guarantee that humans will go to heaven in the end. What if we still cannot survive? There are even scary hadiths. That if there are still small crimes, we still cannot enter heaven. "The person who has the weight of arrogance in his heart will not enter heaven" (Hadith Muslim No. 133). It is because of this that I feel very uneasy. In my opinion the journey to heaven is like a journey through various obstacles without the certainty of heaven! Because in the end, we humans never know what will happen. We are only asked to carry out religion steadfastly. Is There a Direct Guarantee to Paradise? Until one day I saw a Christian magazine bulletin. The one on the teacher's desk. I am very interested in the large print excerpt of the writing. It reads: “. . . indeed today you will be with Me [Isa Al-Masih] in Paradise” (Gospel, Luke 23:43). I was very surprised by this statement. I thought how short the trip to heaven would be for them? How could anyone possibly give a guarantee of survival? Because of that, even though I was embarrassed at first, I finally worked up the courage to ask. I went to my friend, Farida to discuss. Farida explained that Isa Al-Masih is God's way of helping sinful humans. He is the embodiment of the Spirit of God who became flesh. So that if we have faith and become followers of Jesus, God's salvation is available. We can go directly to heaven with His grace. Because God forgave all sins through Isa Al-Masih. So that we don't have to bear the penalty of sin. “. . . whoever believes in Him [Isa Al-Masih], he will receive forgiveness of sins for His name's sake” (Gospel, Acts 10:43). That's why Isa was able to guarantee safety. Believing in Jesus Gives a Guarantee of Survival I became very interested in Farida's explanation. Because it gives hope that humans can survive. We do not need to try to overcome the five obstacles above. And there is no need to worry that at the last moment God will reject us. I myself went through a long process of struggle, to finally decide to become a follower of Isa Al-Masih. But afterwards I experienced a very different peace and confidence in my heart. I miss sharing this with all my friends. So that we can also get the confidence of heaven. You don't need to be afraid anymore of the five obstacles to heaven without certainty. “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ [Isa Al-Masih] and you will be saved, you and your household” (Gospel, Acts 16:31). Jesus and Islam...

5 Difficult Challenges of the Journey to Heaven that Believers Must Pass
“My Lord, I am not worthy to be a resident of Paradise.
5 Obstacles to the Journey to Heaven
I discovered that there are many obstacles on the way to heaven.
Answer 1:
In general, the answer is that we will definitely go to heaven.
Answer 2:
The next answer is that Muslims will eventually go to heaven.
Believing in Jesus Gives a Guarantee of Survival
I became very interested in Farida's explanation.
