Assalam o alaikum, What a beautiful, well researched and detailed lecture as usual. I have been living here for decades and I have not seen anybody touch this issue very openly for the wider audience . May Allah SWT gives you best rewards for this...Aameen.
This dissertation is most illuminating and enlightening discussion on the agonising controversial subject of what meat can be considered 'halal' or 'haram' for 'safe' consumption by Muslims I have heard in a long time. With the learned Sheikh acknowledging that there is an inherent difference between the muzhabs on this subject, then how are we the ordinary Muslims, to go about our daily lives, and how are we to share with one another warm social codiality if we are in doubt of what is placed before us to be wholesome to eat. As a matter of observation, the Sheikh himself reveals his own discomfort when partaking a meal with an accomplished colleague but he doesn't order the chicken himself, and opts to keeps on the safe and goes for fish. Such incidents are experienced by most Muslims in the west, and affects the Muslim Ummah brotherhood if you can't trust and confidentally share a meal. Or invite them into your home and share a family meal because they doubt the meat acquired by you and placed on the table to share the meal. This is the root of many discomforts amongs Muslims living in the west have to contend with. Some Muslims even shun and frown upon the use of forks and spoons to eat with. The answer simple is not to engage and indulge in such social manifestations. Sad, but true.
Mashallah very balanced and researched. Agree with him 100% ..small difference in large scale mechanical slaughter but mashallah he did an excellent job.
Thank you very much for your information. We like very much your videos. We appreciate your time in teaching us. May Allah reward you and your loved ones and give you the highests level of heaven. I pray for all the Ummah Ameen.
This is the problems. There are different madhabs. Why is that? Islam should have one correct path. Everyone should pray the same, eat the correct halal, perform the same rakaats of taraweeh, do eid together, etc. why is there so many differences in this religion. Allah is perfect. He send one path. Why is that is so many different sects. Confuses ppl who want to convert.
@@mohamad4257 bruh.... Dont have this jahil mindset. There will ALWAYS be difference. The SAHABA have differences. There is nothing wrong with that. Just hold on to whatever your heart most inclines towards. And be extremely wary not to follow what the nafs desires
I was walking outside when I started this video and I couldn't hold my laugh with all those puns in the beginning. It made me look like a crazy guy walking alone laughing at nothing. A really amazing research and explanation though. Will definitely refer this video to the ones who don't take this issue seriously
Nowdays only the Ethiopian Christians kept a ritual slaughter that is halal to muslims. Their form of Christianity is pretty similar to islam, their women wear a headscarf and they pray in a similar way to the Muslims. During the time of the Prophet (PBU) it is in their country (Abyssinia) that persecuted muslims took refuge.
ASA Shaykh, you very briefly touched on this, there a few halal vendors carried by major grocery chains, that don’t do hand slaughter. It’s machine cut, very clearly labeled as Zabihah Halal on packaging, what is the verdict on this?
Alhumdullilah. Please repost this in smaller segments and on all social media platforms. Can we get consensus for across Amercia on the minimum standard for who constitutes as the people of the book
Is it possible to get links to references, especially the PhD dissertation of Sh. Fawzan and also Arabic version of Sh. Osmani's article and fatwas . Jazak Allah khair
In addition to my last post, I should have asked the Sheikh: if these differences exists between the muzhabs, are the Muslims of the 'Ummah' allowed to eat food placed on the table by someone different muzhab other than from one's own subscribed muzhab? Or this 'halal/haram' schism is so deep-rooted that it would be considered 'haram' and one should avoid consumption of their meat? I am normally a dahl and rice person!
So eat of that [meat] upon which the name of Allah has been mentioned, if you are believers in His verses.(6:116) And why should you not eat of that upon which the name of Allah has been mentioned while He has explained in detail to you what He has forbidden you, excepting that to which you are compelled................(6:119) And do not eat of that upon which the name of Allah has not been mentioned, for indeed, it is grave disobedience........(6:121)
Assalamoualaikum, Sir I would like to ask about cutting with the left hand or right hand make a difference while doing hallal??( Me being a left handed). Secondly, what about from someone who is Khadjiani (I think Ahmadia Muslim) Sorry am not english, but hope you can understand my questions.

Jazakallahu khairan for the lecture. Brother Yasir, would you talk about our interactions with dogs please. We are surounded by dogs. Dogs are everywhere. When we visit neigbhors, dogs are there. When we visit friends, dogs are there. When we go to a park, dogs are there. Even when we walk around our streets you see others walking with their dogs. If you are a delivery person, you may be greeted and licked by dogs. We try our best not to touch, hug, kiss, or be licked by dogs. So if we are allowed to eat animals hunted by trained dogs, why can't we touch the dogs and avoid the saliva. Why are dogs najis?
Shaykh you mentioned a 1997 fatwa from the majma al fiqhi. Do they still hold the same position or has it evolved now in 2023? If so, what is their stance now? Could you please clarify their latest stance? Some more recent references would be better.
JazakAllahu khairan Shaykh for this long awaited session. Loved the puns in the beginning. So, beef from Creekstone wouldn't be allowed since they employ nahr (longitudinal cut) for cows? That's not good to hear because I've eaten from there more than once because it was approved by a number of scholars.
@@zia5878xs I have already stopped eating from them but I am angry because I recommended them to other Muslims and not only that, I threw parties at restaurants with family and friends that served the meat from there. All because some scholars approved of the meat from there. Including YQ, and some other Dallas area scholars. Am I missing something here?
If you are a christain chef, you're allowed to serve Muslims meats as long as you mention the name of god when killing the animal and or the meat comes from a place that said the name of god.
But some Imam or Ustadz Said that meat slaughtered by Ahlul kitab even tho they do not know how they slaughtered that animal it is permissible to consume by Muslim
Good question. Best way is to generally do some research beforehand. See where they usually import their meat from. For example is saudi, if you ask a shop owner where he gets his meat from, if he says watani (from saudi itself) then it should be ok, if he says brazil or us etc then avoid it
Assalam Walikum, what about this? New Zealand lamb meat in the popular food chain market not saying it's halal on the package but the website states due to cost expenses IT IS halal. Believable. ?
This was really good information. I was all with you until you started talking about jailing people for lying. It's absolutely untrue that you can be jailed by federal law for falsely claiming kosher. This is a civil issue and only a civil suit is possible. No criminal charge You need to stop asking a secular government to act on behalf of God. He doesn't need their assistance in execution of justice
He is wrong again. How can one prove that a meat is halal? Someone says that this meat is halal, should this person trust him and accept that the meat halal? It is crazy. This GUY IS CRAZY TOO.
Not eating meat is a step towards being a more moral human, but theologians tell folks to thank a God for giving life to them & also for giving life to animals for them to eat. Fools end up have blind faith in an imaginary God while arrogantly ignoring their hypocrisy & narcissism.
So much respect for Shaykh Yasir Qadhi. BarakAllahu feekum, shaykh!

Too bad this isn't in pashto. Afghanistan refugees are having a difficult time finding live animals so they can trust the meat they eat
