    This was SO GREAT, i actually made notes haha! Also, you seem so much more natural and confident in front of the camera these days than when i first started watching back in the day. Love your videos Alice :) xxx

    ✨Well done, Alice! You've sorted out the details about lighting very nicely here. Twinkle Mom especially appreciates your instructional videos because they are so well organized and easy to follow - a challenge when dealing with more technical topics. We've all become so anesthetized (and yes, I mean "anesthetized") to cameras that do everything automatically for us that the *art* of photography is too often lost. All of your work is art, as far as I'm concerned. We hope you are feeling well and look forward to your next installment!🤗❤️✨

    Good tutorial explaining these 3 key components. While I didn't major in Photography in college I did major in Cinema and learned cinematography and the rules are almost identical. It was intimidating learning those 3 at first but then you realize how much you can control and yeah it becomes second nature the more you practice.

      Thank you! I think the sharpness is the same, but I always find that the exposure looks better when I set it myself - if I didn't the brightness would change too much in my videos :)

    I feel like I need to watch this multiple times with my camera and play around with the settings as you talk about them lol. I really need to practice with these, but it's so intimidating. So, can you get the blurry background just by playing with Aperture or do you need a certain lens as well? I swear I need a little cheat card to carry around with me, because once I get out into the real world I can't remember ISO and F stops and stuff and just end up switching back to Auto.

    • @AliceRed
      @AliceRed  7 лет назад +1

      Yeah, do! That will really help! You might need a certain lens for the blurry background, it depends what lens you have at the moment. Anything f/3 or lower will make the background blurry :)
      There are loads of cheat sheets on Pinterest! ;) I used to carry the instructions for my camera around with me haha, it takes time x

    • @AndreaJSeverson
      @AndreaJSeverson 7 лет назад +1

      Alice Red I have a kit lens, 14-42mm. For the Olympus Pen a lot of bloggers recommend a 45mm lens for depth of field and blurry background but yikes, it's an expensive lens lol! And I will check Pinterest for cheat sheets. Thanks for the tip!
