Correct me if I'm wrong but I've seen people on Reddit say that using Maple offline doesn't make you bannable. The previous cases of bans because of offline Maple use were actually people who used Maple on bancho and used "I only used it offline" as an excuse when it wasn't true.

Analysing the replay provides more than enough proof. Also I like how he tries to claim he was "passive" and a "bystander". If that were truly the case: A. He would have told the others to end the farcical investigation and B. Leave the server and C. Not use cheats for a video. 😂😂 Truly shameless.

1. Where you miss does *not* matter, in fact the PP calc does not even know where you missed. CSR means that combo is disregarded in terms of scaling the PP with some factor. Instead, that sort of stuff is now represented by a better-made miss penalty, which simply punishes your misses. The only place where you might still find varying PP due to combo is due to the effective misscount estimation, a mathematical tool in PP to estimate the amount of slider breaks done based on your combo. But this does not fall under "combo scaling".
2. The CSR rework has been confirmed to be an ultimate goal of PP development for a while, and had been approved before. What changed now is that in April, CSR got an update and thus the PP committee had to approve the rework again, which now happened. The time until this rework will actually be deployed is unknown, but I personally would say it most likely will happen very late this year.

Not defending Zylice here, but it's crazy that he is the face of this whole WHP extermination squad thing, even though there are probably other people behind the scenes orchestrating the takedown attempt with infinitely more malicious intent than Zylice, and they have just gotten away completely scot-free. And now the community has no idea not to trust them. (From my knowledge, the members list of the server was never shown to the public)
It's kind of scary because I never would have expected someone like Badeu to do something like this. You legit can't trust anybody it seems.
The biggest part of the zylice hate is that players have been banned previously for using cheats even if it's offline but he's gotten away with it completely plus he's the highest rank player and a big content creator so naturally he's going to get a lot of the hate, I mean whp was one of his teammates in an upcoming tournament it's crazy he would snake him like that

That's the exact reason. When you present yourself as someone who is a force for good in the community then this snakey backstabbing behavior gets revealed, it's more of a big deal than if we always knew they were that way

if standard gets the mania treatment in pp gained and leaderboard scoring (missing doesnt instakill your score), i might actually switch to lazer (for standard). missing reducing pp depending on difficulty ("density" in mania) sounds nice too.

Osu doesnt know when you missed so in current build for combo rescalling it doesnt matter where you miss, as an example you have a map that has 2k combo you get 1.5k combo and miss at the diff spike, that score will be worth the same as a score with the same acc and miss count even if you missed at an easier point of the map. This should only happen in stable as in lazer I think that lazer knows when you missed.
Yeah, the game basically looks at your score on a worst case scenario basis, but usually doesn't subtract a whole lot for missing in the middle. S ranks (with sliderbreaks) are going to become a lot more valuable since this new rework is going to punish low combo less and high misscount more.
@@maxdragonsoul5553 Slider breaks will have the same penalty as misses. The rework will probably come out on lazer which at that point it will know when and where you missed/slider broke
the basic idea is not to reward "hitting hard parts", but to reward low misscounts on long maps, on which 2 misses 1/3 and 2/3 in can leave you with only 30% of the fc pp

Combo Scaling Removal is a really good change, but we still need a pp rebalance. Speed, Flow Aim and Length Bonus need a nerf, while Aim needs a buff

Honestly, i agree with that one 6 six digits player with thousands of playtime... who pointed out that PP counted based on unstable rate and star rating. I feel like it works that way for Mania, CTB, and Taiko already... (even though long map meta still exists in Taiko) but not in STD. In STD, even if you have 99+% acc with 3 clean chokes with 1 miss count each, you still lost good chunks of PP. So enthusiastically, i'm looking forward for this rework.

I think combo scaling rework is a good idea. The context of the strain of a map SHOULD be a factor when weighing how impressive a score is. It fucking sucks to be incredible, just to shitmiss on a bridge because you had to blink after the chorus. Also there are a lot of 1x SB score that come to mind, where an SB on an insignificant slider shouldn't be so punishing.

Your combo scaling explanation is incorrect
Pp system don't know where you missed
It assumes that you missed on the hardest note of the map, and then punish you according to how big difficulty of the map without this note is, so more spikey maps are punished more
The key meaning of this is that to get good pp you don't to need have high combo anymore (because it's removed, cap), you just need to get low amount of misses
And all misses are valued the same, no matter the place where you missed on
