Illumi has a very particular way of speaking he even refers to himself in a different way then gon, hisoka ,or even killua often referring to himself using the pronouns ore and boku, ore being a way to say "i" in japanese and boku being a general masculine pronoun (he uses these in such a way that it seems like hes referring to himself almost in the third person) however he uses "i" more than every other pronoun to compare with other characters hisoka uses the pronouns boku and kimi instead of ore boku being a masculine mature pronoun and kimi being a slightly more feminine pronoun machi also switches between masc and fem pronouns from what i've heard as well, however the main takeaway is that illumi is a VERY particular character. his character is also blatantly thrown out of the window when you made him smile, he often only expresses emotion in peculiar circumstances such as with killua, and his twisted over protectiveness and will to keep him safe, or his sadism and power lust which is only represented when in the presence of nanika and alluka (they often use "it" and "she" as their pronouns) where he states just how badly he wants that power and lastly only a bit of anger which isn't represented in his face at all just his hair (Silva , milluki , kikyo , alluka, and even kalluto are also inaccurate because of other but related reasons)

Now that you mentioned it, the most expression I’ve seen illumi (from memory) was after his bloodlust when Hisoka asked if he could kill Killua. Like when he asked “did you do that on purpose?” With squinting eyes

Character designs stop on but the personality not as much normally at the first vid illumi would normally tell him to kill them if it kills him cause illumi put needles in his head to make him the perfect assassin but since the fish people i forgot there names are weak asf he would tell then to kill them with no consent because he knows killua is stronger than that since killua was supposed to be trained to be the best assassin
