    In this video, Professor John Ahr of the Online Jewelry Academy demonstrates how to use foldforming techniques to create beautiful holiday star ornaments. These foldformed stars will make a great addition to your collection of Christmas ornaments.
    This simple project, suitable for beginners, is an extension of one of the OJA's most popular tutorials on formfolded copper. In this video, however, Prof. Ahr uses pre-annealed copper craft foil to make the copper stars. You can find this type of foil at most craft and hobby stores.
    In other videos on the OJA playlist you can learn how to add color and interest to your copper star ornaments. Plus, there are a number of videos that show you how to make other shapes and styles of holiday ornaments. Many of these projects can easily be adapted to serve your specific decor needs.

    Seems simple enough to make and oh, so pretty. I have some crafting copper, but I'm wondering if you think it might work on flashing. Have a roll of it too. Too stiff maybe? TFS!

      Hi Michelle, I have tried this technique with flashing. In my opinion, the flashing is too stiff to really give you a nice result. Glad you liked the project.
      Thanks for your support! : )

      Oh good. Glad to know you actually tried it. Won't waste my time with flashing on this project. Thanks!

    I want to make this, but I am having problems finding pre-annealed copper craft foil. Where do I get it?

      Hi Phyllis, Most any online art supply company will have some kind of copper crafting "foil". And, you don't need to worry about whether or not it will be pre-annealed. It's always soft and easy to work with. Good luck with your form folded ornaments.
      Thanks for your support! : )

      That was very helpful. One more question. On your copper jewelry, what do you seal it with to keep from turning your skin green? I love all the copper jewelry I make, but have not found a good sealer.

      @OnlineJewelryAcademy  8 лет назад

      Hi Phyllis, The OJA is going to post a very brief video on that topic soon. The quick answer is shellac will seal your jewelry to prevent tarnish. You can also coat the part that rest next to the skin with clear nail enamel.
      Thanks for your support! : )

    que espesor de metal ?

      @OnlineJewelryAcademy  5 лет назад

      Estoy utilizando el traductor de Google para responder a su pregunta. Usé una lámina de cobre para hacer el proyecto. Por lo general, es de alrededor de 36 gagueos de espesor. Buena suerte con tus proyectos creativos. ¡Gracias por su apoyo! :)
