I used to shop in Palo Alto then I felt like no connection with my CA then I started to shop in San Francisco. After almost a year working with my CA in San Francisco I got offered my first B30 Etoupe in ghw and I did not spent more than 13k. Just two months ago after a year of my first B30, I got another B30 black in ghw. So lucky to have my CA.

Interesting video AND very brave of you for your transparency! Love the break down and happy that you did get all your bags at around 1:1 ratio. Its a large amount of money BUT you did it in a span of 4 years shopping at Hermes.

Thank you for your transparency, we don’t see that very often! I’ve got 4 quota bags in my home boutique plus 4 non quota in little under 2 yrs. I spent a ton of money, I have to admit it. I don’t think I’ve got a bag under 2:1 ratio but my offers came very fast with barely no wait. It really just happened that the items I really wanted were worth more than a bag itself.

In UK we don't follow that pre spend game, but being visible with your SA and maintaining a good relationship helps in the long run.

You’re right! I started my Hermes journey in Feb and got offered the Kelly messenger bag in May. My prespend was $12,231 and the bag was $12,200!!!

People are rarely this transparent and honest about the price of their purchases. Kuddo for your honesty and transparency. I think it should be in each RUclipsr's videos about fashion. Price is a piece of information as important as functionality, wear and tear, etc.
People don't seem to understand that the Hermès products are handmade and this takes time. It is part of the deal. And, while the quantity is limited, the demand is global.
BTW, I will meet the Hermès SA of a friend this weekend. My wishlist is a Kelly 25 with specific attributes. I am curious to see what she will say. You might laugh: I bought a belt and this is it. If I get the bag, "tant mieux", if not "tant pis".

Good luck on your wish list, special thing about Hermes is they don’t have rules they follow by. Some people get a bag with low pre spend and some don’t even get anything even with a high pre spend. Yes it is very expensive. I agree it is a downpayment for a house. Luxury is not for everyone. I am a realtor so I don’t recommend going this route unless you are in a financial position to do so.
@@ziggyessYou shouldn’t have to spend on anything in order to play a game to get the actual item you want. That’s illegal. It’s fine if they have a long wait due to inventory but you cannot “Tie” it to getting a qb.
@@glenf6639 thank you for the insight, with Hermes, the thing is it’s very hard to predict as one Hermes store rules differ over the other and from one county to the other. We might not like how they do things and they require quite the loyalty, unfortunately it’s the only way to get the most coveted bag. I have heard London has a waitlist and no need for a purchase history, not so much in the US unfortunately.
I believe It’s a status symbol of success. Especially in Asian culture, image is so important. Personally won’t be part of this Hermes journey but I can see some logic on both sides.

Non quota bag doesnt count as pre spend, and the more u accept non qb, the later u got offered the qb

Hi Ziggy. I got queasy from hearing you listed all the things you bought to just get a QB. Very crazy! And I’m crazy too. I started my journey in Jan 2022 and spent a lot of $$. Got 2 QBs and 4 non QBs. Recently, I asked my SA for another k25 in the white color family but, at this point I have greatly slow down on buying anything from the house. So if it comes, then great and if not, that’s ok too. Dior sparks my interests lately, esp their RTW. To scratch my itch I bought a small lady dior in latte color. And I was in Miami recently and got the mini Chanel trendy CC. I have been waiting for them to come out with the mini version! It is super cute! I met a wonderful SA there. ❤

Okay, but Tying is illegal. Their game shouldn’t be illegal.
Thanks for sharing your insights. I am also an Hermes lover, and since the end of 2021 I have gotten one B30, and one K25. I would say my spending ratio for each bag was also little over 1:1. I'd like to ask, if you really wanted those non-quota bags before your B25, because I think accepting non-quota bags can slow down your journey to the quota bags. If you really like their non-quota bags (which I really love), I recommend asking for them on the day you are offered a QB. Also, they would count as a post-spend which is an appreciation towards your SA's hard work. Just my 2 cents.

She did say something to the effect of not wanting to play the Hermes game…. When she went to Europe…. Let’s be honest, most people wouldn’t actually buy so much crap if they cld just be put on a waitlist and eventually get offered the qb when it came in stock.
Having a ratio is EXACTLY what makes is tying which is ILLEGAL.
@@glenf6639 Except there isn't a discernible ratio which everyone can point to ,so NO ILLEGAL tying. f I wanted a B or K I can see why a "prespend" would be upsetting, but your "prespend" is Hermes just rewarding loyal customers, which isn't illegal.

It is great. I love that it is light, sturdy and really worry free. I don’t have togo leather so can’t really speak for it if it’s better or not, however I love the epsom, my Constance is also epsom. Love that it is lightweight. Hope this helps. 😃

I have now 2 quota bags birkin 30 and Kelly 25 also mini Jypsiere, bolide and in the loop. I agree it is when I'm at the 1:1 that I get a text from my SA. I love all Hermes though and just as happy with pillow or shoes but do love the handbag.

Yes you can buy non quota bags, just ask your Hermes sales associate the next time you stop by and buy anything. Give them a list of the non quota bag you’re interested in, if they have in stock they will sell if not they’ll keep an eye out for you and contact you when the bag comes in. Hope this helps.

I think the better way to think of it is perspective . It is not fooling if you fully participate and enjoy their products besides the bag. Luxury is not for everyone specially if you are not in a financial capacity to do so. I always advocate to only buy luxury when you can truly afford it. I hope this helps.
This is why I will only shop in Paris. I just exclusively shop with my SA and I’m good. I can’t with the northern cali SA.

Thank you for the comment, I suppose, I agree it’s very expensive. I say that luxury is is not for everyone and also only attempt to do this only if you have the financial capacity to do so. I am a realtor also and I recognize that what I spent is a good amount of downpayment for a home and or a fully paid car. Once choice might not be right for another, I am sharing my experience so people are in the know how expensive it is before embarking on this endeavor. I hope this helps.

@@ziggyess yes, shopping tax free is wonderful! Bought many luxury items from Europe & around the world during our travels. I was surprised that as tourist shopping in NYC, bought Tiffany’s years ago I could not claim tax free. However the items were already at a cheaper price compared to my home country Singapore so that was still a win win.
