Ias artika shukla mam, rank 4 of 2016 also started preparing in December and still cleared in first attempt.. So I don't think he's the only one who cleared in 5 6 months we just never noticed these things before criticising anyone or their backgrounds... I read through almost all the comments... And what I understood is people now a days are more focussed on demeaning each other rather than uplifting each other's efforts... UPSC is not only an exam, for some it's there LIFE.... Many of the students were average in school and college days... Maturity of working hard came later in them... Thus, they showed it off while giving this very exam... It's all about time and how you utilise it effectively... Even I have the dream to clear the exam in my very first attempt, having financial problems, a negative family atmosphere, helpless mom, and overcoming from toxic relationship, being treated for depression for 2years.....I don't know how I will be doing it, but I know I have given myself no other choice thus this is what I want.... And students like me, also exist who just need an atmosphere to nourish their talent, may be they didn't get the chance earlier but someday they will shine the brightest.... Thus, please try to respect each other.... That's all which remains and is highly necessary for being in CIVIL SERVICE...... Fate favours the brave... Remember

It's so disheartening, without knowing his hard work, people had been writing so many things. He had been reading newspaper for a very long time, school time se NCERT achhe se pdh rkhi thi, College mein Modern Physics mn achhe marks the. College mn newspaper reading krni. It was his day to day habit, but focused study for the exam he started in December, without working in a job. So bad, people don't appreciate hard work just to justify their failure. It's so sad. If one can't do doesn't mean others can't. So disappointing.

Preparation is when you add on to your old knowledge, practice tests, learn from mistakes and revise. It is biggest myth ki zero se shuru krna is preparation. All I could understand by observing him is that he's most probably an introvert as the way he's explaining his strategy, it's coming off a little casual. That's why most of the people are unable to understand his real struggle and hardwork. What most of us call preparation,, to him it was a routine for a long time. It is generally when you are reading a paragraph ...make possible questions out of that paragraph ..for example in paragraph it is written that the first Indian to clear ICS is satyendra nath ..then you can form a question who was the first Indian to cleas ICS and in which year...so the same thing for complete book and make a word file or a copy for all the questions ...main part is when u come again to read that chapter for revision don't just read the paragraphs or highlights again instead without opening book try answering questions you have formed ...and check only what u cannot answer ....this technique is Active recall ...for more you can search on RUclips Ali abdaal active recall video

All I could understand by observing him is that he's most probably an introvert as the way he's explaining his strategy, it's coming off a little casual. That's why most of the people are unable to understand his real struggle and hardwork. What most of us call preparation,, to him it was a routine for a long time. And to all those hating on him yet aspire to be a civil servant, you're not worthy of it. You can't becomr an IAS/IFS with that attitude.

It is generally when you are reading a paragraph ...make possible questions out of that paragraph ..for example in paragraph it is written that the first Indian to clear ICS is satyendra nath ..then you can form a question who was the first Indian to cleas ICS and in which year...so the same thing for complete book and make a word file or a copy for all the questions ...main part is when u come again to read that chapter for revision don't just read the paragraphs or highlights again instead without opening book try answering questions you have formed ...and check only what u cannot answer ....this technique is Active recall ...for more you can search on RUclips Ali abdaal active recall video
Starting it will take time but in end it will save your time while doing revision as you dont have to go thru whole book again and again
