Absolutely brilliant. One of the most under-rated bands of all time - their music was shamefully undersold. Almost 25 years on they sound as fresh today as they did back in 1986. Top upload.
Saw them at Leeds Uni supporting Feargal Sharkey in 86, been to about 100 gigs and they were the best support band I have ever seen, they got two encores and the crowd were baying for more, I had to ask people in the audience who they were and ended up buying their album and all the singles 7 and 12 inch, they should have been really successful !!, shame they didn't make it !!
I love this song so much, my bff, loved it too, every party we would go to i had to sing it. In Gloss and Babyjane's, Hamilton night-clubs in the 80's the DJ'S used to crazy as we always asked them to play it all the time.
They had a great Glasgow 80's sound that Simple Minds,Altered Images,Hipsway etc had..I bought this album in west end records in Partick in 1986 i think and i've still got it...Loved it.
Magic! Love this tune. In total agreement that they should have been MASSIVE. Everything I wanted to be is another dos tune. Love, love, love this band."..................❤
I didn't know who this was until I recently asked someone if they knew the bands name when i mentioned the lyrics. I was curious as it was regularly played in local club in Mossend, but never heard it played anywhere else. Can't believe they weren't more successful
Bought all the 12" singles when they came out. In a box somewhere. Love to be able to download. One day will get around to ripping them off vinyl. Great to hear it here. Fantastic.
Still remember seeing them at Aberdeen Students Union. Still recall wondering why the guitarist had these huge baggy flairs on, until he ripped them off midway through a song to reveal a pair of drain pipes underneath.Class! Still one of my favourite bands from that era. I have the album on vinyl.Ace! God bless Cherry Red and Postcard.
i worked with the lead guitarist (the one in the harrington lol) in the grapevine in bothwell , he gave me a loan of theoriginal album that he recorded, would love to get in touch with david or anyone who knows him as i would like to give him the album back as i think it is something that he should treasure as its a great album
cuthrell1972 Hi David is my husbands Brother-in -law he would love to have it back as they struggle to get hold of the albums. Our nephew is trying to get a reunion night set up for the band x
In this video the drummer is stewart Anson, he's from cumbernauld. He joined the band just before the Feargal Sharkey tour. I think their original drummer was called Colin Auld.
cuthrell1972 - I have been told that david is working in Carluke, in Lanarkshire in "Prego's" Italian Restaurant. full address = Prego's Italian Restaurant, Clyde Street, Carluke, Lanarkshire.
Have contacted various radio channels and they all said there is no chance of gettin a cd of this band. They are magic.Heard them first 20 years ago.Any ideas on how to get a hold of a redcording would be good.
Just played the full vinyl LP (which I bought for 27p in the great vinyl sell off). Both sides are terrific. It's awful to think they missed out, but they left us one masterpiece to remember them by.
Love this, Sharon Dunleavy is amazing, bought all the 12" singles, Fruits of Passion should have been massive.
This takes me back 37yrs ! Where has the time gone and I still listen to this amazing song ! Great Scottish band along with Hipsway 🎉 ❤

Greatest era in Scottish music, many great bands never got break they deserved.
