I am no pro myself, but I am looking to make a firepit in that general design, but my bottom part will be the same as the top part, just 1/3 of the size, to be more stable and better looking (I think), but here is my constructive comment, your video is way too long, plus all we see is a lot of grinding, we don't need to see all the parts being cut with the grinder, one of each piece would be ok, but explaining the design and dimensions you chose on a voice over would have been good, the point is to explain your process, your design, and the way you are doing it, it would have been informative and about 7 minutes, people would have appreciated it more than all the grinding! TIP: grinding is ok, but old process, buy yourself some Diablo Metal Demon blades, for your circular saw, your sawzall or your jigsaw, takes only minutes to cut through a 1/4 inch thick metal plate, and the finish if way better than cut grinding, and you will be able to make better welds if your material is clean cut.
When making a firepit use no thinner then 3/16 steel. Anything under that can warp bad when welding and you want to weld solid.
This metal was maybe thinner than that and it worked well
But it actually was right around that thickness, good rule of thumb 👍🏼
@SecondSonWoodworks Yeah, I used 1/8 for my first one and I was fighting it.
yours video is great. Subbing before 10000 subs :)
Thank you!

Thank you for the comment and the input. I am always trying to improve the quality of my videos, so I will take this into account. Cheers~!
