I’ve been in law enforcement for 10 years and when I had my first child I just knew I couldn’t trust anyone to take care of my baby. My husband and I decided that it was best for me to stay home and be a full time mom. We have 3 children now and I’ve never looked back. I also homeschool my kids so this is truly a full time job with no monetary income. I loved my job but I love my family more and I’m fully committed to making our home a peaceful, comfortable and beautiful place to live and grow. I admire moms who do it all but I know everyone has limits and some people just can’t do it all. I’m one of those. ❤
I just commented that I have a 6 week old girl and a 3 year old boy. My husband and I will do whatever possible for them to not go to daycare and I’m also considering homeschooling. I just want to be home with them!
@@MelH87 omg me too…cant do homeschooling bc my kids are cray but theyre older and have their friends and it’s a different season of life but definitely do it if you can! Good job!
I could never work full time and focus on everything my kids need to thrive. I admire those who have that energy. I'm so thankful my husband supported me.
@@MelH87it’s harder than people realize being a stay at home parent that is. I used to work long hours and sometimes double shifts because I was bored home alone. Now I’m more busy and have so much to do in a a day with 3 kids and being a wife takes it out of me. You hear people say often that sahm have it easy when in fact it’s not easy. Do what’s best for you and your child. They will always remember that you put them first
@ yes it wasn’t until I was on maternity leave that I realized how hard it is. Don’t get me wrong I love it and it’s very rewarding and I wouldn’t have it any other way, but it’s honestly easier to work an 8 hour shift at the hospital. With kids you’re just always on, there’s always something to do. And constantly worrying about their safety and needs is mentally exhausting. At the end of the night when they’re safe in bed asleep, clean, and fed, I feel like I can let out a sigh of relief, like whew I made it through another day and and they’re ok
Hi Lauren - I've been a nurse for over 38 yrs now. I've always been in a hospital setting but have moved to different units over the years. I am now in patient education for both outpatient and inpatients and I love it. The beauty of nursing is that you can do so many different things with the degree. I love all of your videos! You are so creative and enjoy so much watching your life unfold. Good luck with your next career move :)
This speaks to me! Right after highschool I had no idea what I wanted to do as a profession. I skipped college and got a job at a bank. I worked my way up to Branch Manager by the time I was 25! I had so much success and learned so much. The banking business turned into all sales! That was great and I loved the challenge. In 2018 my branch was held up by gunpoint for over 5 hours. That’s when I decided life is short and I need to spend more time with my kids While they are still somewhat young! I quit my career of 23 Years! I’ve been a stay at home travel softball mom now for the past 7 years and it’s been amazing!!! However, I need to start planning what I am going to do next! I really don’t want the stress and sales goals that go along with retail banking. Times running out… my husband owns a business and that’s been great, however, private health insurance isn’t that great! I’m 45 now and really need good insurance. So what do I want to be when I grow up? Lol
Hi Lauren! I just purchased the bow sweater- can't wait! I am a stay at home mom. Former ballet dancer and professional organizer. Henry is hilarious! Thank you for all the work you do to inspire. It is very much appreciated!

I love reading what everyone’s careers or life choices were. 👏. The ones that fascinate me are the ones where they’ve drastically changed careers. That’s inspiring and motivational. And you’ve inspired me to clean Lauren! 😄

I cleaned houses and offices when my kids were little then I went to school and became a registered nurse then a nurse practitioner. I work in rural healthcare and LOVE it. Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown and The Family Man are my favorite Christmas movies.

I always say that Bing Crosby is my late husband from my past life. I absolutely adore him.
Love the cozy vibes and productivity in this video! Watching you tackle the deep holiday clean is super motivating. Thanks for inspiring us to get our spaces festive and tidy! 🤗💖💖💖
I worked as a Captain in a maximum security prison in Canada for 34 years. I retired at 57 and am living my best life with my husband, kids and granddaughters ❤Love Chevy Chases Christmas Vacation, our families favourite.
I started out at grocery store, then became a stay at home mom for my son's first 5 years. When my son went to school I became a Sheriff's road deputy for 7 yrs, I loved my job, but decided that I needed a change. I went into the green house businees for 7 yrs and loved that job. I retired 4 years ago from working in a school district as an aide , I worked in class rooms, recess also did secertary work, etc. I loved each of my jobs, but my favorite one I would have to say was working in the greenhouse, I enjoyed working with my customers and working with all the different plants. I have played with the idea of having my own little business here at home with my crafts that I do now.....only time will tell.. lol
Me and my husband and I own a real estate company! 🎉It's been great for us! However when we first met, I was an artist 🎨 going into the bakery business because it gave me the opportunity to be creative on a regular basis! But I grew up with a Mom who studied interior design so I also do that for our house. Having a gift shop would be a dream come! But I also love gourmet cooking at well! When you're creative, it makes life more difficult for you because you feel the pull to everything you love! ❤ But art is one of my first loves! I also do crazy art for my holiday scenes!
@LaurenNicholsen Lauren, you are amazing make your dreams ✨️ come true! I'm confident in you! You have so many gifts 🎁 you have been given! In January I plan on getting back to me, and doing my encaustic art! I paint with wax it's pretty 😍 interesting! I love the idea of helping the blind see texture helps with this!
My favorite Christmas movie is The Family Stone. I feel like not many people know about it. It’s a great cast. I watch it several times each Christmas.
Oh my..I was a property tax appraiser for 14 years until I was just washed out..not a fun industry at all! Then left that job & sold real estate and LOVED doing it..retired now & hope to do more traveling!! Thanks so much for sharing!! XO from NE Texas!
Grew up in Sweden, went to ballet school, worked as a dancer for a couple of years but got injured. Moved to LA to pursue acting. Did that for a while (my favorite gig I did was the seasonal grinchmas show at universal studios where I played Martha May Who at the original set - I am a true Christmas lover so what could be better?!). Now I am a new mom and have moved away from performing. Still living in LA and now I help my husband with his real estate investment company doing investor relations:) thanks for a great channel! And good luck on your next chapter! Excited to continue to follow along. ❤
Hi, I loved the video today!!! I love the chickens, so glad Blanca is healed!!! I had to laugh when I saw Henry Ford in the chicken coop!!! He yawned and looked up like "Im just catching a nap with part of my family, the chickens". All of the animals seem like they get along well, SOOOOO CUTE!!! Thank you for sharing, I really look forward to your videos!!! Have a great week!!!❤
One thing I've found out is that doing something for fun and doing it as a job or career is often very different. But you'll never know until you take the plunge!!!
Hi, I love your show. I was a radio News Anchor for Clear Channel/IHeart Radio for 17 years....before that I taught piano and voice performance. I retired in 2012 and we moved to the middle east for four years then India for two years. Now we live in Southern Illinois a few hours from Nashville.
Hi. I've only seen u 3 times but I like your videos. I worked in INVESTMENTS INDUSTRY for 18 years, including traveling. Then I switched careers & started teaching & did that for 5 years. I am now retired and do PET THERAPY with my 2 GOLDENS at Rehab & Assisted living Facilities. It is very rewarding!
🎄Happy Holidays Lauren! Just when it seems you can't top the previous video you do it again.😊 Simply love absolutely everything you do. Your home is so festive and gorgeous! I'm a Home and Commercial Stager and enjoy creating beauty in every aspect of life. I also see that you do as well... Lauren whatever you put your mind to will ALWAYS be a success. Your energy and drive are infectious and inspiring. Seriously how do you do it?? Four children, a home, a full time career, RUclipsr, dogs, cats, chickens (Hello Miss Blanca... so glad you are feeling better! Btw you look fabulous) And a husband too!! I have a feeling I'm still missing something🤔 Ahh... a partridge in a pear tree perhaps? It's with a grateful❤ that I wish you and your family; furry and otherwise the most Blessed And Joyful Christmas. Cheers to a fab New Year🎉 May it bring all your dreams to fruition. Merry Christmas To All And May God Bless Everyone🙏
Hi Lauren, I am an architect and have been in my industry for 17 years. I question it daily, tbh lol! My husband has changed industries several times and finding something that you look forward to doing even on the hard days is the key. Good luck! I'm sure you will be successful no matter what you decide to do. Happy Holidays from Florida 🌴
I worked in retail for a large Department store. Cashier, customer service then full time in the office in Strawbridge & Clothier. Great discount on all items. Clerical staff supervisor and finished as a Distributor Planner for Men’s and Boys Department. Loved every minute.🎄
I am a paralegal, but we don't typically work for the general public. I work for a success family that owns a development company (initially just commercial, but now also student housing and multifamily) and then another part of the family runs a regionally jewelry chain, so I get to negotiate leases and amendments, as well as handle the trademarks, service marks for both companies, set up and manage the corporate entities and tons and tons of either jobs. I absolutely love my job and the family I work for. I've been there for over 31 years and have no plans on going anywhere until I am able to retire. I have been very blessed with my challenging and high paced career choice.
Do what you know. I was a Master Barber for 25 years then I was an educator for Special Needs high school level for 20 years. Now I’m retired from both. Just do what you know it flows naturally. 😍
Last Saturday I binged my favorite Christmas movies. I start with Eloise at the Plaza followed by Eloise at Christmas and then I finish with The Holiday. Happy whatever to everyone. ❤
I own my own insurance business. I worked for my dad and when he passed I took it over. With the market right now it is so tough to keep clients happy but I absolutely love it and the freedom it gives me to work from home and be with my daughter.
My career path: being a detail oriented person, During corporate yrs I was always in some type pf customer service/account management position. Last one before I started my own business was a design assistant for an Interior Designer (lots of details!). She encouraged me to start my own BIZ as a Professional Organizer which has always been very natural to me - doesn't feel like work! I have had my own company for close to 20 yrs now and the Lord richly blesses me with work. About 50% real estate related (getting house ready to go on market) other 50% is busy families and busy professionals. I love helping people bring order to their chaos!
I’m currently an occupational therapist but I’m on maternity leave with my sweet baby girl who is 6 weeks old. I also have a perfect 3 year old boy. I enjoy my job but since having my babies I just want to stay home!! I work with the geriatric population. Also, Christmas Vacation is one of my top favorite Xmas movies, I also like the original grinch as well as oldies such as Christmas in Connecticut. I also love Muppet Christmas Carol (my favorite as a child). Love your videos ❤
Hi Lauren. I know whatever you choose to do you'll do a fantastic job. You're so gifted❤ I have held a cosmetology license for 45 years and a real estate broker license for 10 years though I have never really worked in this industry. I have just done referrals. My favorite all time job would be to flip houses. My favorite Christmas movie is White Christmas, Holiday Inn, Christmas Vacation and Christmas with the Kranks. OMGOSH Henry lol that was GREAT !
Hi Lauren - I’m 35 and am only recently in a role that I feel is perfectly aligned with my skillset and what I love to do. I spent my 20’s in assistant and coordinator roles in professional settings handling business operations matters, office management, and supporting executives. I got into management and government consulting about 6 years ago and got some additional business operations experience in that environment. It has all culminated to my latest role where I support and advise a government exec and management team with their strategic efforts and daily operations of their staff for organizational effectiveness. It’s a great blend of my love for efficient business operations and leading and engaging people through empathy and teamwork. I’ve also taught piano on the side for over 20 years, so I have a lot of teaching experience that informs how I understand and engage with people at work. I think that blend of alignment of our skillsets and what brings us joy is out there for everyone, it can just take time to get there or maybe there are some skills gaps to fill along the way. I wish I’d had better guidance earlier in my career, but it’s never too late to make a change or pursue something new! Wishing you all the best and thanks for sharing your journey with us.
I retired from being Admin for the NJ DOH for 36 years. I’m working at The HD at the Service Desk and moving over to Appliances as a specialists. I enjoy people and being helpful! The funny thing when my customers see me at Walmart or Aldi! They call me Miss HD 😂
My career path has been a journey, I started off as a Hotel Receptionist, then progressed to Hotel Function Manager. I moved to Sales and at first was a Sales Assistant, then Sales Manager moving to Store Manager. I diversified again and moved into Mental Health as a Development Manager for a counselling service, then completed a degree as a Life coach. I'm now working as an Accountant. I went back to University get my teaching qualifications and also work as a Trainer for courses on Suicide Prevention, I work with families bereaved by suicide, those who have made attempts and people who are actively suicidal, I am a facilitator for group work and use art as a therapy and also facilitate craft classes. I want to change again but don't know what field to go into, I am now 60 so who knows lol.
Hi Lauren! I worked for years for HGTV and Food Network, then stayed home with my babies for 10 years...I went back to school for book editing and now freelance. I'm grateful for the part-time work and flexibility! I'm amazed at what you do and how much energy you have! Question: Do you have a finished basement? My kids are young teens, and I'd love to see any inspiration you may have for a space for that age. 😄
Hi Lauren! I worked in natural medicine for about a decade before moving into finance. I'm in mortgage admin at a corporate bank, which is the COMPLETE opposite of what I imagined myself doing!
I am retired now but I was in education for a very long time. I taught for 13 years and then became a school principal and did that for many years until I retired. That was the only outside the home career I ever wanted to do.
White Christmas is my favorite. My husband's is between A Charlie Brown Christmas, National Lampoon Vacation, and A Christmas Story. Oh that green was awful and dated, you did a beautiful job making it yours, I can't wait to see what you do to remodel it. MERRY Christmas 🎅 🎄
I have been in medical for 40 years Loved it I retired but back to work part time I miss the interaction with people I am social but do love at times to be alone Retail is good for you Your like a model, beautiful, smart and really smart Awww I love the way you always do a beautiful tribute to your mother Hugs Online retail seems like your busy Having a Christmas party next Sunday for just grandchildren Can't wait My home is festive I am cooking all Greek food Happy Sunday Anything you do , you will do great
I’ve been following you for a few years and while i don’t know you personally it seems like you would thrive as a store owner! I’ve been in retail management for close to 10 years and my current role is Operations Manager and i love it!
Musician-Entertainment, educator. Love it! Also want to add something extra and it’s always fun to change it up. Career changes are hard but worth it. Good luck finding your next one!
I am getting the house ready for a small gathering of my girlfriends next Saturday. Been baking up a storm and now the kitchen needs the same clean as you did! Isn’t it amazing how chickens can heal?! One of mine was attacked by a hawk and escaped without her tail feathers. She had a few scrapes but healed completely. Loved seeing your kitties and was missing Pepe till I saw him in the end. Your house must smell so fresh from cleaning and the simmer pot! Take care. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Hi Lauren, I've been a teacher aid, worked in retail, pharmacy technician, factory worker, fast food when I was very young. I'm currently a licensed care provider for my handicapped daughter. I will be 60 this coming up year. I have 2 daughters and 4 grandkids.
Love Elf! Going to see the musical next weekend at Broadway Music Circus in Sacramento🎉😊Taught elementary school for 14 years and have been bookkeeping/ office manager at my husband’s boutique law firm for the past 10ish years.
Hi Lauren, I started off my working career as a Hairstylist, then Reception and Office Manager in a College then I owned a Tanning and Nail Salon and finally I am an Educational Assistant in High School. I have 5 years to go before retiring. Hello sweet Blanca ❤
I have been an Art Therapist and mental health clinician for 20+ years . Now I manage a team of clinicians and have a small practice on the side. I really wished I could be home with my kids more. But that hasn’t been possible. I’m tired and a bit burnt out since Covid honestly.
Hey girl! Well I have had 3 careers. I worked 6 years in mental health with adults with developmental disabilities and I loved it. Then went to work in Corrections. Started as an officer, then case manager, then senior instructor for the state which I retired at 20 years of service. Now I work from home in the Digital Intelligence field. So I kinda still work in Corrections. I love it. I would love to have a book store, gift shop, and bistro but I’m scared to try. I would also love to have a tree farm.
HAPPY FALL SUNDAY IN DECEMBER Lauren, family, fur babies, and feathered friends. I retired at 54 years old, I am now 63. I retired from Pennsylvania Higher Education/14 Universities. I was a manager of the Nursing department in the School of Nursing. I am very thankful even after retiring my husband is able to be on my insurance and enjoy benefits of me retiring from the State of PA. It is a blessing. He retired 2 years ago he is now 64 from a Real Estate Company big one here in Pittsburgh PA. We do pretty well for ourselves and oh so thankful. However, putting in over 40 years of work for each of us, we deserve the maxing and relaxing. Enjoy your week. STTB🎄🎄🎄
I have worked for the same employer for 20 yes. I am a Autism Mentor for Nicholas County Schools in WV. I work with elementary students. It's a very hard job but I love ever minute of it.

I love this. It resonates with me so much!
@@rachelarnoldson6260 yes!!
Your tunes bloom like wildflowers on a sunny hillside. 🌼
Oh my..I was a property tax appraiser for 14 years until I was just washed out..not a fun industry at all! Then left that job & sold real estate and LOVED doing it..retired now & hope to do more traveling!! Thanks so much for sharing!! XO from NE Texas!
I LOVE Henry. He looks just like a cat we used to have, and I think he has the same personality as well.
Yes on the homemade ornaments idea
I saw “Four Christmases” playing on your tv lol. We watch it every year and also “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”
Same! It’s a classic.
I was a teacher and I then owned my own design business. My favorite Christmas movies are the classic ones. So happy to see a video today.

Even when you clean, I enjoy watching you.....your home is always so lovely XO
That means a lot to me, thank you!
Hugh Grants dancing scene in Love Actually has a permanent place in my brain. Funniest scene ever. Did you know he hated doing that scene? So funny!
I love how you've found something that gives you fulfillment. That's what it's all about!

I always worked retail and I love clothes and I was always good at displays and everything but I'm so proud of you and I love your clothes mine.
Bonjour .Mes films préférés Christmas vacancy et Deck the halls.Bonnes fêtes !
Thank you!
Always enjoy your Vlogs! 🎄☃️🎅🏻🧑🏻🎄☃️🎄
Loved this episode 👏👏👏
I retired from being Admin for the NJ DOH for 36 years. I’m working at The HD at the Service Desk and moving over to Appliances as a specialists. I enjoy people and being helpful! The funny thing when my customers see me at Walmart or Aldi! They call me Miss HD 😂
Favorite Christmas movie would have to be It’s a Wonder Life ✨🔔

I love that, most important and impactful thing in the world is education. I wish I could be a student forever.
Hi Lauren
Merry Christmas to you and your family.

It's a wonderful life is my go to film for christmas. 🎅🤶🎅🤶
Take care. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

I have been an Art Therapist and mental health clinician for 20+ years . Now I manage a team of clinicians and have a small practice on the side. I really wished I could be home with my kids more. But that hasn’t been possible. I’m tired and a bit burnt out since Covid honestly.
The Family Stone during the holidays is ❤
Fred Claud, Christmas with the Kranks, and on Christmas Eve it’s always The Polar Express
STTB🎄🎄🎄
