Mike Hough hello Mike. I have it sealed to the bottom from inside the boat and reads through it just fine. I enclosed it in a plastic container and fill container with water so there is not any air bubbles to interfere either. Works well.
GyrFalcon Gaming thanks. Very true. I just didn’t have a socket close enough to where a store the kayak. So I take out the battery box. Good option though.
Hello Ed. Sorry took so long to get back. The battery case I ordered through Walmart online. Waterproof battery case. The boat power sockets I got on Amazon.
Ed Razler I think it's pretty standard. On Amazon it is the Outdoor Products Watertight Box. 1.5 liter capacity. Dimensions is 3.5 x 6.8 x 8 inches. www.amazon.com/Outdoor-Products-Watertight-Large-Dress/dp/B00CJIBBJU/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=Outdoor+products+watertight+box&qid=1586240124&sr=8-2
have you tried it without putting water in the conatainer ? Just curious if it works better the way you have it rather than mounting the transducer directly to the bottom of the kayak like ive seen other people do.
I've only used it inside the container. The container bottom is cut out and the transducer is sealed pretty good to the bottom of the boat inside the container. I have put water in the container and left it out and don't notice that much of a difference that I can tell. Seems to be accurate either way.
Hello John, I picked them up on Amazon. SEACHOICE WATERTIGHT DECK CONNECTOR-CPB SCP 10121 and KUNCAN 2FT SAE Connector to The O Ring Connectors Harness 2 Pin Lug Cable with Ring Terminal Battery Charger Quick Disconnect SAE Extension Cord For Motorcycle, Car, Tractor 10A Fuse. Hope this helps.
dude it No, I went the cheaper way I just got one for about $15. It has the LED lights that turn green to let me know when it’s fully charge so I can unplug.
todd schmutz hello. No hole cut. Just sealed to bottom inside tupper ware bowl. I just fill the bowl with water when I go out and transducer works fine.
Just want to say THANKS for sharing and making this video! I have same yak and getting ready to buy that same FF. How is the FF working now that you’ve had it for while? Hoping to locate more fish once I get it...please let me know. Thanks again...love my vibe yak! Stable!
Hello. Thanks for commenting. I got it last summer and it worked great then for what I needed it for. Seemed to be pretty accurate. I really love the yak. Stable and easy to control. I will soon be going out again and expect the FF to work just as well. I will leave message here if my findings are different. I think it was worth it and a great value. Happy with my setup.
Your losing me with the duct seal and still needing to add water for the transducer. Maybe s others I have seen the transducer is placed with some type of marine goop and works fine. It was my plan now I’m not sure.
Hello. It's been my experience that the transducer is more accurate without air pockets in the seal. I add water to fill all holes and any bubbles. It's more accurate than not adding water. Just my experience.
Very nice design! 👍
Very helpful. Thanks for your time and for helping others. God bless you.
Thank you!
Does the duck seal hold the transducer tight during transit (on/off top of vehicle), or do you have to pull it out beforehand? Thanks for video.
Thank you I like your setup great idea
DUDE OF310 thank you. It works great for me!
Great vid, thanks. Question-does the signal go through the plastic on the bottom of the boat?

Good Video...one question...why bother removing the battery box when u can just connect charger to deck mount plug??
GyrFalcon Gaming thanks. Very true. I just didn’t have a socket close enough to where a store the kayak. So I take out the battery box. Good option though.
Great video, can you post a list of specific parts? Having a hard time getting a battery box to fit in my Yellowfin 100 with the same hatches.

If you get a chance, could you post the dimensions, so I can order the exact one?

Is the charger a trip design where when the batt is full it stops charging?
dude it No, I went the cheaper way I just got one for about $15. It has the LED lights that turn green to let me know when it’s fully charge so I can unplug.
Do you have to cut a hole in your kayak for the transducer to work?

I use T2 rectorseal on everything
