  • WRC History: Group B
    (ENG)
In the early 1980s the class became the ‘Godzilla’ of the rally scene and produced the most powerful cars ever seen in the world rally stages - 600 horsepower, 4WD, turbocharged monsters that could break on through all elements - in the forest, tarmac, snow or gravel stages faster than anything ever seen before or since.
In 1986 FIA officially banned the F1 cars of mountain and forest roads - The Group B. Faster and powerful cars combined with wilder and crazier crowds meant that within the confines of rally car competition the group B rocket ships were just “too fast to race”.
The legacy of Group B, however, is a whole range of spectacular cars that continue to thrill enthusiasts. Ford RS200, Lancia 037 Rally, Lancia S4, MG Metro 6R4, Peugeot 205/T16, Audi Quattro, Renault 5 Turbo, Opel, Citroen, Nissan, Toyota also the amazing Ferrari 288GTO Evoluzione, Jaguar XJ220 supercar and unforgettable Porsche 959- that won both the Paris-Dakar and its class in the Le Mans 24 Hour Race!
    (ESP)

@@ledood7600 Ah, nice. Are they available somewhere? Or are these private footages you've got there. I'd kinda like to make simular WRC compilations like yours as your channel is really inspiring! If that's okay.

@@hellc_t I recommend Duke's video and they have digital format already but sometimes they only have DVD or blu ray and you have to digitize it. I also look at eBay for any rarities usually old DVD or bluray and can sometime be great find. There are other DVD or digital store like in Japan and it can be a rewarding experience but beware their video format may not be the same as your region's format there are ways to convert it with a good decent app but for now it escape my mind. I started a video NAS so I can watch my library anywhere in the house network and just locally stream it (home use only not for commercial broadcast) for my personal entertainment
