Thanks for this series. I had decided on switching to Debian and was "furious" with some design choices of KDE and Gnome and all that ,and settled on trying out awesomewm. Then I found your videos!!! Great job, easy to follow along and make my own tweaks to the widgets I want and need.
Awesome deserves mine and your attention!! I'm going to tell you, there is so much I didn't learn my time going through it.. It ranks high in my Tiling WM tier list
Hey, thanks for the mention. I like how you split up your date and time widgets. I had never seen that before. It seems like you're really getting your hands dirty in coding lol. Also, the volume widget didn't turn out too bad, but it was definitely a lot of code used. And it was really cool seeing the vertical layouts in action. It's not something I'd personally use, but it's really great that you're showing off all the possibilities in layouts.
Great one Drew! Yeah, I ain't a coder either but if you want it to work your way you just keep chugging along until it does ;-) Me? I'd probably copy that volume widget from you, pamixer is great! Jokes aside, thanks again, Debian Bookworm has been loaded, time to delve into awesomewm!
i just found your channel from Brodie video. if i would use any window manager i would choose something floating. but what keeps me on cinnamon are applets in taskbar. especially weather, calendar and moon phase. can i add moon phase into taskbar any of the floating managers? i dont want it as a widget

I think it's great that you wrote your own widget! You learned something and extended your abilities
Thanks for the encouragement.
Always a good day when you upload 🎉
Very kind!
Nice to see you on Brodie Robertson and thank you for your videos and installing os on real pc not in virtual pc.
