I bought the same model last August and it's an excellent car. My wife and I took it fully loaded up to the West Highlands and it was perfect for us, we managed 69.9mpg for the 1100mile round trip. Just one thing there are 3 banks of 4 radio presets so you can save up to 12 stations.
An excellent detailed review, I've just last week ordered the GT Line S in Astro grey, the amount of kit you get for the money is excellent. ETA is the end of June. It's also worth mentioning the scrappage scheme that Kia offer on the Picanto which is worth £1,700 on any car older than 7 years no matter what condition it is in. Our old Nissan is 14 years old with high milage and not in particularly good condition which had been valued at £500 at two other dealers.
My wife ordered a GT Line in April 2022, and was told to expect delivery in September, but this was then delayed even more. We have just been contacted to say that the car is on the boat and should expect the car no later than the end of November 2022. Your review was great, more informative than the dealer. Yes we went with the spare wheel.
I’ve got the 99 bhp Turbo version of the Picanto (20 plate) and I cannot believe this engine is that much different when it comes to fuel consumption. Driving on semi-rural and rural roads, so not stuck in traffic for the majority of the time, I can promise you that my car averages around 32-34 mpg, considerably less than the test drive figure claimed here. In short, it’s a lovely car which constantly needs refuelling even when you resist the temptation to let the engine rip too often.
Great review, just brought a gt line in grey from Brentford London Kia, delivery for March 2022. Second car to my Kia Sorento gt line S, had 30 mins test drive and fell in love with the styling. Got £1880 off which include £1000 pcp deposit. Great little car for my wife, new driver, 2a insurance, I think I will drive it a lot lol😀
I’ve got the yellow one. It averages mid 60 mpg but with very careful acceleration and gear changes and not exceeding 50mph, I’ve got 86mpg over a 12 mile drive.
Great review, picked up a brand new gt line auto, matches my sorento gt line s, getting 55mpg over the last 2 weeks, the auto is pretty good as long as you don’t rush it and perfect for my school runs, this review is pretty accurate to my experience so far, great little car.😄
nice review mate. I agree about the spare wheel and the steeringwheel telescopic adjustment. Both are very important. I'm 185 cm tall and I want a small car but none of them have telescopic adjustment. RIdiculous.
A detailed and current review, certainly. I ordered a Picanto X line last September from a Kia dealership. I was warned the microchip shortage was causing delays. The Picanto was a 3 cylinder, top of the range 3 and has safety radar but has no lane keep assist which is a good reason for this choice. I currently drive a Honda Jazz, which is massively over engineered and has to be programmed before I take it shopping or else accept the steering wheel being snatched from my hands should I cross a white line. Ok for motorways but dreadful in town. The Picanto has low CO2 emissions, quite low fuel consumption and is quite a good looking car now. My provisional ETA is end of March, nearly a seven month wait but it might fit in my garage!
I'm looking to get my first car and I'm conflicted between a Kia Picanto and Toyota Yaris...This has helped so much😱 Although now my decision has been made a bit more difficult (Reliability more than anything else)
Regarding using the tyre inflation kit and the need to have the tyre replaced after use, run flat tyres have to be replaced after driving 'flat' and cannot be repaired. just thought I would say it may help.
My mother bought a GT-Line in 2020 and has been the car we all want to take for short bursts around town. It is a gem and way better than expected. I am thinking of getting one as a second car so I don't have to go to pick hers up when I want a bit of fun and ease of use. I have a 2016 mx-5 and I wouldn't buy another as it is far worse than I expected it to be and mazda is very poorly made.
@@AJThePlayerRUclipsChannel I got so carried away telling my story that I neglected to say I found your review fantastic. You are cleverly funny and I hope you will be around for us to see more reviews. Cheers from Aus.
ive ordered a kia ceed trim 3 it doesnt come with spare wheel and isnt an option for one so thats gonna be fun but theres room for one, logic stick one in there id of paid for it but nope cant do that. great review of kia small car cheeky little cars love that blue.
Actually your incorrect regarding the paint colour it depends which model you choose. The X LINE S only comes in honey bee yellow that's the only colour it comes in and the grey has been discontinued on the picanto across all options of picanto.
I do love your review and your attitude and definitely agree with you that a manual of that size is stupid as no one would take the time to read it anyway. I am still shocked how the car industry managed to make spare wheels redundant??? I would not want to crawl around and fix a flat tyre with those kits, in particular the rear wheel.
Hello , First of all great review ! I want ask a question. I want to buy the kia picanto gt line with the 1.2L and 84 horsepower engine,5 gears speed. At my local kia dealer i can pick up the Auto version which is ready to be delivered . If i want the manual i need to wait up to 3 months and probably more . Which is better in long-term view .
If you forget the 1 spec and you should, the others all have air-con. The Mk3 is much better than the earlier models. Dont get Granny Blue! Looks good in black or white. The 3 spec is the best one, the one I have, with 4spd auto box. Done 28,500 miles in 3 years and nothing has needed replacing. Front tyres might see 30,000 miles. Expect mid 30's MPG. Forget the manufacturers figures. You dont plug your phone in you use BlueTooth. You will need to buy a spare wheel as it comes with a pump and a can of goo!
I’m sorry but how does an extra 30% on the price giving a few more toys equate to the best ‘bang for you buck’? As with most of the city cars, they only make much sense, financially, in the cheapest version.
What even is in the entry level picanto ??? This is so annoying im om a tight budget and used cars in my country isint a go to because every1 is a lying lizard so im looking into buying this one i looked it up on their site and its a super car with a 20 inch screen and the leather custom and keyless start and cool wheels i was like great ! Then i go to the kia place THERE ISINT EVEN AC its bland nothing in the car
Shitbox, drove a New one for 2 weeks, horrible. I drive a vauxhall viva rocks, beter on all fronts except for fuell economy and reliability allthough the Viva is also quite reliable. Also Viva better for taller people, I'm 6 ft 3.

That's great, I wouldn't mind the 2011 version for my wife decent for a first car

Engine sounds really smooth. Brilliant review, off to have a test drive. Love the simplicity of the car

im thinking of buying it as my first car too!
how is it?? :)
I'm so glad I find this video so helpful on all parts of the car you covered everything that someone would need to know

The best car in The World
I have Turbo Gt Line
Wonderful
I have a similar model however I don’t have an AC button one mine, just wondering if this is to do with the earlier 2021 Kia picanto?
Gt line astro grey coming in 2weeks 🎉

Whats the Kia piano like on long journeys
as a short person looking to buy a picanto 8:10 made me laugh so hard 😭
😆
Will it cope with long distance/frequent high mileage?
Its a great all rounder
@@AJThePlayerRUclipsChannel 2000 miles per month?
I liked so much I went and bought one😅😅

They want you to change your car before changing a tire.... shitty world...
Hello ,

At my local kia dealer i can pick up the Auto version which is ready to be delivered . If i want the manual i need to wait up to 3 months and probably more . Which is better in long-term view .
I would probably go with the auto
Air Conditioning should be standard. It is in Australia.
If you forget the 1 spec and you should, the others all have air-con.
The Mk3 is much better than the earlier models.
Dont get Granny Blue! Looks good in black or white.
The 3 spec is the best one, the one I have, with 4spd auto box.

Expect mid 30's MPG. Forget the manufacturers figures.
You dont plug your phone in you use BlueTooth.
You will need to buy a spare wheel as it comes with a pump and a can of goo!
This is so wrong i think they should make 1 single car that is full option and the other with turbo and thats it why the money grab?
Like make it 13k but let it be stable not say it costs 10k then when you get it there isint AC or a screen or keyless start this is so annoying
The current s model base has ac. Just not climate control.
ICYMI: "Medium Wave" radio means AM 😄
It’s more specific than just AM. Long wave is also AM.
I’m sorry but how does an extra 30% on the price giving a few more toys equate to the best ‘bang for you buck’? As with most of the city cars, they only make much sense, financially, in the cheapest version.
The 1 spec is pov. Dont do it, at least get the 2 spec.
This so sleek.
Hi, Picanto is not a Spanish word btw jajaja
In 2023 in the UK, the only colours are yellow, white, grey or black.
Move to another country so.
Lol what country do you live in?
Shitbox, drove a New one for 2 weeks, horrible. I drive a vauxhall viva rocks, beter on all fronts except for fuell economy and reliability allthough the Viva is also quite reliable. Also Viva better for taller people, I'm 6 ft 3.
Your intro is annoying loud, then your voice faint? deserves a thumbsdown.
