i believe thats part of how voice casting works their normal voice is close to what the character sounds like already. maybe so their not straining their voice as much? not sure but have you ever seen videos of say Kevin conroy or James earl Jones or definitely Richard Horovitz they have very unique and awesome voices that make the characters they play iconic
