    It's great to see the old Falcons bumping around on rough tracks. That AU is pretty handy.

    that reminds so much of my EA Fairmont wagon! me and a mate took it up and over the baryugal mountain range, only got stopped by a huge river crossing & we ran out of daylight, so had no choice but to turn around and go back up and over - which a completly stocko EA Monty did rather well!

    Glorious AU wagon. I wanna so this but with a sedan. The IRS would be a pain though..

    • @Interceptor508
      @Interceptor508  7 лет назад +1

      Ah! My EA wagon is gone. I now have an El sedan that i will be building up! The AU with IRS would maybe be the best thing for this. There is no diff pumpkin hanging in the way and being an XR8 diff housing (standard m86 i think??), you can get lockers for them. It negates the need for giant tyres. This is why i love Subarus (what i use for serious stuff), can do heaps of rutted stuff because you wont get hung up on a diff.
      I prefer the E series so will toy with this. If the diff keeps getting in the way i will look at an IRS conversion. See how i go!

    Love your clips and do you still have the RTV's? also wondering which on has the LSD and which has the diff lock. My 2004 version has the LSD with a diff lock switch.

    I've got to ask the question. Why? LOL The bf all terrains are worth more than the car LOL. I guess they still both flex better than a 79 Series landcruiser.

    what suspension mods have you done if any I own an Ef wagon and would love to beef it up

    • @Interceptor508
      @Interceptor508  7 лет назад

      Robert Jefferies Hey there! In my old ea in the video, I had put in AU front struts (no real lift) and a 10mm strut top spacer. This.have 20mm lift. Whatever size spacer you put on the top, it will be x2 in terms of lift.
      The rear had some 50x50 shs between the body and the rear leaf spring mount. That gave about 20mm aswell. It's the opposite here, you get half of what you add. The remaining lift is in the tyres.
      The AU has full suspension from an RTV Ute.
      I now run an almost identical setup in an EL sedan.
      If you're on Facebook, you can join the offroad falcon club run by us, best thing for any questions and things! But do let me know if you need to know more here.

    So which performed better, the locked diff or lsd?

    • @Interceptor508
      @Interceptor508  7 лет назад +2

      Both need different techniques over different terrain however on that day they both went as good as each other. But given the clearance of the AU, he could take more agressive lines and pull through no worries so if i had to pick, it would be the locker. The lsd did go very very well especially when coupled with agressive tyres, almost no real difference.
