The version for the P200E has a full size opening under the reed valve, when you open the inlet port, you no longer have a screw hole for the carb box, and you can get 4 fingers in the inlet port, my next step on my T5 (same problem as PX125 the inlet is partly blanked off as there is not enough gasket face on the case for it to be full size) is to weld the case and extend the inlet to the full reed size, pm me on Facebook if you want some pictures
guess there are two versions available, as mrp also offers, fir cases with short and long intake area on top. Mrp has a picture comparison in its shop. In the end mrp with rd350 provides enough intake area for over 40hp, its the cylinder with timings and exhaust port shape an width which defines power in the end. Turned around: a bigger intake cant make ip potentials on the cyl side
I would optimize the cylinder side first, before redoing the intake, as the intake can not make up for cyliner potentials. Whats the current cyl data? Yes pictures wouls be nice from that welding work.
Hi FMP guys, great videos !!!! Very useful. I have a stock standard PX125E ( VNX 2T ) 1985 WITH A DAMAGED ROTARY VALVE. can you recommend a reed valve/ carburettor kit that I can use to fix the problem. I am after the easiest solution to get the bike running again so no machining and not replacing any other parts. Thanks !!!!
@@FreakMoPed8 Thanks for the reply !. 100% sure the rv is stuffed. A hole in the piston did the original damage and then I stupidly put a dremmel on it. Doesn't seem to be anyone in Sydney that does the rv repairs so looking for an alternative.
Hello , air speeds are crucial l found not by listening to a mechanic but experience . Maybe it's the only practical way by swapping parts , or at least try it on before modifying. Smoothing any uneven steps like port matching ok, but trying to never increase the diameter of the intake going into the reed block slowing down air speed [ lowers air pressure ?] My 70cc ran lean with a larger sport manifold and then very rich with a new smaller, not modified unit of origin . Lean was dangerous when WOT , sounding obviously lean. Same jetting just air speed slower so poor pick up and white plug. If the engine can pump big air , ok cool, speed won't suffer when a bigger carb or manifold goes on or performance sadly will decrease. My 2cents worth , but not professional . Thanks and lol.
not possible to use 200cc on a 125cc engine. maximum is 186cc with standard parts. i mean there is the barone 232cc (or so) ((no the overpriced parmakit 205cc with ridicilous low power is not an option))
yes, it got a full circly with rounded edges, but works also with the rotary crank, intake opening, cylinder timings and good exhaust for example are more important
Hi. First of all I'm a stock px 200 (1994) I'd like to switch to Reed valve. Setup as follows Mrp30 mm intake manifold+V force 4 +28 mm pwk carburetor +polini box exhaust + air filter. My goal is to get rid of the oil leaks and make it a little stronger. I certainly don't expect a lot of power and speed. Do you think it's the right setup? I'm open to advice :))
Same same as the x360. I also dont like the rubber hose, its definitely not that sustainable as metal 😄😉 the "turning" is a marketing gag, as there is no space at the alargeframe anyways. Would have been better to ankle the carb less.. So another opictal pimped manifold BUT o be fair, in the end this is a sell factor, as its only about profit in the end. Not providing the BEST hardware. Only small Producer do that, ie mrp
i call the closed ports, fake ports, to underline that they are not state of the art and the very least to say RACING cylinder / tuning cylinder, as pinasco is selli g such cylkit, the 215 as SUPER SPORT, with a real bad pisto too, sadly.
So weird that the carb for the 360 never seems to open fully? Was that intended or is it a case where the throttle pully needs to be matched with the throttle slide?
Tq your info sir... I am from indonesia n I have vespa excel 150 cc made 1997.. And I had change rotary valve with reed valve but I make my self... And until now is ok.... Top speed 120km / hours....

I rather let the rv repair usually. How u know its damaged. Are us sure?
Also oilsucker and ignition can cause blowback

Una pregunta hermano c puede elevar una vespa 125 a 200 y que c necesita disculpa

no. stick to rotary. its very first choice. a lot of power available. pla.dont destroy a good and ok rotary valve.
What about the Polini one? Item Code 19743 on 10pollici. Which option do You recommend ?

@@FreakMoPed8 ok, i understand, so , What about Art Code 13414 from 10pollici. That option would be better?
unrelated question: why there is distinction between real ports and fake ports (other than shape)?

@@FreakMoPed8 so the things that "that scooter thing" did on the stock cylinder in episode 49 minute 3:30 are right?
Good intake
I would rather take the mrp
So weird that the carb for the 360 never seems to open fully? Was that intended or is it a case where the throttle pully needs to be matched with the throttle slide?
You mean bottom of manifold? There are engine cases with short and long intake areas above, mrp has a picture comparison in its shop
@@FreakMoPed8 no the sound comparison around 14m looks like the 360 side never fully opens.
ah ok i see. not even opened fully and already THAT LOUD. the mrp manifold is way better.
