At 2:28:48, when Le Man is mispronounced, I thoroughly enjoyed the reaction. This crew sounds like they are having an absolute blast together. Thanks for posting these races, WEC. I've become a fan of endurance racing after watching this and listening to the insightful commentary.
He sounds tired, but still quite witty. I always imagine him as having a martini in his hand while calling the race. Not that he sounds drunk, but he sounds like the life of the party. No one conveys the simple joy of racing like he does. He sometimes needs a sidekick to help him with his facts, but that's part of the fun. John Hindhaugh is kinda like that, only Martin's really got the wit.
Its definitely the most interesting and uncertain part of the race. So much time can be gained or lost depending on the circumstances. Fatigue starts to set in for some of the drivers and pit crew. Even the commentators get drowsy to an extent haha
6:02:29 - it's 0430 in the morning, suddenly the video sounds like it's skipped to 1.5x playback speed. David Addison's voice is like a speed metal drummer - very fast and very precise. I prefer a more conversational pace, though I do appreciate his skillful and deliberate diction. But when something exciting happens, he can't really turn it up a notch because he's already there. (Overnight at Le Mans - best racing time of the year.)
They have been there during every WEC race this season. It's new this year, I think. IMSA races on RUclips have had similar problems too this season. They don't go blank like WEC replays, but it's like the blank parts are removed and the video jumps ahead a bit. It was really bad at Watkins Glen. I wonder if there might be a new issue with uploading these long videos to RUclips. It's hard for me to see this as a mere coincidence when two separate series are having similar problems at the same time. To me it's not a big deal, better than not seeing the race here at all, but I really wanted to hear what Fritz van Eert had to say when he went off at Dunlop!

The amount of Porsche onboards (and Corvette, actually) really makes you feel with the teams.

the dawn breaking is such a cool period in the race, I love seeing the change over only a few laps
