Cor blimey governor! What a lovely pair matron! You don't get many of them to the pound! You jammy dipstick, love 'em Derek - great introduction to the 2 cars, as Del said, it would be great if you could do a little comparison run, a bit like I'm trying to do with the Lancias! Look forward to the run videos, whatever you end up doing my friend! A thumb up for each of your gorgeous pair! :))
I Love Japanese Cars so much ! Hello Derek .In my youth many 240 and 280 Z were on our roads and I was always fascinated by it , and I still am Today. But no one is allowed to know, because I work for a French Brand :-))But we are among us :-)) Fantastik Video Derek ! Both Thums up.
I agree with you mate. Totally. I especially loved the old fords back in the day. I actually have a very large collection of 1/43 diecast. Mostly cars of the 80s
oooh, very nice. When I was young my Dad had a MK1 Cortina {white one in photo. The burgandy one was my Grandparents) postimg.cc/rRkNcp3P and then he got a Ford Zephyr. I was 5yrs old and thought it was Huge. I loved that car. postimg.cc/wRQcBpdT
Beauties!!! I like both chassis', though they are very different. Why switch arms on the DF-03RA? Looks like they fit? Such cool bodies. Nice with two of them, one for the shelf and one for the road. Wish I had two bodies of all my bodies :-)
Hi Mikael. It doesn't show very well on this video, but the rear wheels are only 1 mm away from touching the bottom of the arches. You can see it in this photo i.postimg.cc/1tFZ905F/IMG_1037.jpg It doesn't look good to me and the correct suspension arms also come with the front arms and 257 mm rear arms too. Good for spares. Both my Subaru bodies fit on the DF-03 Ra with the 257mm rear arms and their wheels are perfectly centered in the arches. : )
Hi Steve. Thank you very much my friend. They are a very popular chassis, with loads of hop up options. Could you advise me on something please. I have just bought an Axial SCX10 ii Jeep Cherokee and the previous owner has painted the lexan body in Tamiya PS White, but he hasn't backed it with anything. I want the inside to be black. Should I back the white with silver first, or just go ahead and do the black on the white ? Thanks Steve : )
You finally found a DF-03Ra chassis. It does have the better chassis for off road but the the TT-01E is closer to the real life car ride height. The guy who painted the shell did not have the matt clear of the bonnet as that would of been correct. But then one runner and one shelf Queen.
Yes mate. The search for the DF-03Ra is over. It was a bonus that it had the Datsun shell. I may look out for some different bodies too. There's plenty of choice for the 257mm wheelbase : )
Thank you very much my friend. It is one of my favourite Tamiya bodies. I'm pleased that you found this video helpful. I like your channel and have just subscribed : )
What a tremendous score this has been for you! Well played; landing this pair is a real coup. It´ll be interesting to drive them in quick succession - I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the handling differences on tarmac. If you could improvise a little test circuit, part tarmac and part gravel, the resulting comparison might make for a fascinating video.
Hello my friend. You can get the body set here www.rcmart.com/tamiya-51407-datsun-240z-rally-body-df03-tt01-190mm-p-31983.html?cPath=438_875 Thank you for watching : )
Hi Derek. Been meaning to catch up with this one. I do like this body as you know and sadly my previous 2 died in the fire. I have got a new body ready to build when I get a mo. Not sure whether to go for a TT-02 like I had before or something else. I did manage to get a bit more suspension travel at the back of the TT-02 by a bit of trimming of the suspension arm that is difficult to describe but it gave maybe 3mm more travel. I think that the matt finish on the bonnet of the XB one is achieved using flat clear paint on the outside of the body. I have used it on various bits before but I didn't do the Datsun bonnet. I think I will this time as it does look quite cool. Anyway, nice vid explaining the difference between these two.
Hi Pete. Thanks for watching Mate. The Datsun is one of my favourite Tamiya bodies, and like many people of my age, remember seeing the 1:1's cruising our suburban streets and wishing that one day we could own one. Well now I own two. They're just a bit smaller lol. I didn't know you use to have two as well. I only saw your "garden jumps and cat" video. For my TT-O1 I have bought a couple of B6 chassis plates from part tree #51003. I saw a mod on a forum and if you cut out some of the plastic, (essentially making it into an H shape), the suspension arms can gain a bit more travel. Unfortunately it's one of those jobs I haven't got round too yet. I prefer the matt bonnet too. More "sporty" : )
Yeah I have seen a full sized one of these on the road recently and it still looks the absolute business. I had 1 of these with the rally paint job and another with a metallic blue saloon car paint job. The blue one only appeared in compilation videos like the Golf Course Invasion and My RC Cars which is the title video on my channel. If I'd known that they would die in the fire I'd have taken a few more vids :-( There is a bit more footage of the blue one that might make it to RUclips. The suspension mod that I'm on about is very simple as there is a bit of plastic on the arm that limits the travel and I just cut it off. Like I say I don't have one right now otherwise I'd send you a pic although it may not apply to your chassis. Does an RC enthusiast ever complete all of those little jobs !
Thank you very much for watching. I'm happy you found it helpful. I have sold the TT-01 since I made this video. It now lives with a very happy collector in Sweden. Have a good weekend my friend 🙂👍
LoL I say Omar, my good man. One couldn't decide whether to say Zed or Zee. So one said Zee to make my American Chums smile. I must pop off now for a nice cup of tea and some Fish 'n' Chips don't you know! lmao. Thanks very much for watching my friend : ))

Thanks very much Mark. I agree. It's a good idea. It all depends on how soon I can tear myself away from just looking at them and drooling lol : )

Thank you very much Harry. I love the 240z. I think it is better looking than most modern cars. They all look the same to me : )
Awesome cars !! Great job !!

😊👍
They are nice shells derek. I remember tgese cars on the road as a kid. Top notch buddy
Me too Tibs. Cars were much better looking in those days. Modern cars have no character and all look the same. Thanks for watching mate : ))

Great and informative video. I learned a lot. I also learned that I need that body for my TT-02e. Again, great video!👍

Great idea Del. I will have to search for an appropriate place with both surfaces : )
