My moderator and friend Will has been bugging me to play this piece for as long as I've known him, and he even bought me the game! However, I was lagging on getting the recording up on RUclips, but today I woke up and knew what I had to do! Fifty takes later and this is what I came up with for the arrangement. I worked on it all day, and it's not even close to where I wanted it, but I fear my hands will fall off if I keep trying more takes, so let's just roll with this one. If you guys really don't like it because of the mistakes, I will just delete this video and try again tomorrow (I know I can do better)! Either way, I'm ready to make some changes on this channel, and I want to post way more videos than I have been. Yess. Anyways wanted a Kyle Landry version of this since imo the piano collections for Nier Automata was underwhelming/underdeveloped.

I loved that damn game. This arrangement came out pretty nice. Mistakes? Bob ross never believed in mistakes with his paintings, instead he referred to them as happy accidents. I like to think the same with good music.
Nier Automata had the best soundtrack of any game I've ever played
Play the first game and drakengard 1-3 ost. Nier (the original) had the best ost imo

Yes Kyle! Loved this interpretation, mistakes and all. It gives this a more human quality in my opinion, without the mistakes we would not have this particular final version. Sometimes in the pursuit of perfection we lose the genuine factor that makes music beautiful.

I've been listening to the NieR: Automata soundtrack a lot in the past year. I got the game for Christmas after hearing so much of the music. I'm so glad Will was persistent enough to get you into it! Your rendition of City Ruins is fantastic. There are so many great themes in the soundtrack. I'd love to hear you play Emil(Despair) and Song of the Ancients(Atonement) someday.

I loved how NieR is spreading. In the first NieR, it was pretty much unheard of. I'm glad I decided to grab it with my $10 in my local gamestop in 2012. Made the experience that much better when referenced in Automata.

That was great! I've never heard it before, but it was impressive. Don't ever reveal how many takes it took. It's nobody's business!!!!! Movie producers and directors don't tell the public how many takes it took or how long they spent on the movie in general. People go to the theater and they see the finished product and that's all that matters. People don't dissect your work the way you do because they never knew your intentions inside your own head when you recorded it.
I appreciate that he share with us that info, it shows the effort he puts on and the difficulty of the task. It's good to know he's human too :-)
