I DID this today while my husband was at work. Thank you so much for your step by step instructions. My husband works so hard and I hate having to ask him to do home repairs when he comes home. Check this one off the list.
thanks for the great video! my LG machine (model WM2050CW) started leaking from the back. after taking the top off i found the source at the triple cold water inlet valve (had to google parts diagrams to find the part name). i was able to find the part at a local supply shop for $44. this video perfectly explained all the steps to replace it. i have now run a few loads and not a drop has leaked (i took the top off to check the valve itself...totally dry). this job is very easy. i have no experience whatsoever working on appliances - i'm a stay-at-home mom of three kids! i knew i couldn't manage without a washing machine for more than a day so i didn't want to mess with calling a technician. and my husband was thrilled that i probably saved us a $100-200. i have no clue how much a tech would have charged, but definitely more han $44!! again, thank you for this wonderful video.
Replaced the valve after washer started screeching on cold water influx. No leaks but possibly headed to that end. So, a quick replacement. No more screeching!
This video was excellent. Me being in a rush I forgot to clamp the hot water hose and ended up having water leak into the washing machine. Luckily stopped it from getting beyond the wash room. I'm letting it air dry now. Do you think there is any problems if water got behind the drum and in the actual machine?
+Chris Nesbitt The valves should not be buzzing. If the water flow was low, it will sometimes cause a buzzing noise. I would use it a little more and see what happens. If you have good water flow and the coils still buzz, you may need to replace the valve again.
Hello, thank you for your video. after replacing, the middle(soap dispensing) inlet will not turn off. I purchase 2 of them and they all have the same issue. My washer started with an LE error and I replaced the Rotor position sensor, and drain pump (as precaution) now I am having this issue. I also replaced the Water pressure sensor as well and the inlet doesn't not shut up and my washer will fill more that half way til i get a PE error. Other than that the washer will work fine without that inlet plugged in BUT obviously we need it for the soap. PLEASE HELP
I just bought this part from you all. I too lost track of where the hoses go. The dispensing drawer has labels on the back ie hot, main, pre wash and bleach. Which of the three valves from this cold water inlet is the pre wash and main? The inlet valve itself has numbers 1-3 on each valve. Does that mean anything that I can use to re-attach correctly? Thanks in advance for both the great, without them I would not attempt the repairs, videos and the answer.
In case of LG WM2455HW, from the front side of view, the left one is Pre-wash, the center one is Main wash, and the right one is Bleach. This information is from LG service manual for WM2455HW, which is using the same part. servlib.com/lg/washing-machine/wm2455hw.html?start=33
I forgot the locations of the hoses, I took them out and when I realized I hadn't memorized the locations it was too late. Can someone reading this help me plz, it would be greatly appreciated.
The one hose has a white mark on it; this should go on the far right port on the valve facing the machine from the front. The other two may or may not be marked. You may be able to pull the dispenser drawer and blow air through the hoses to see where it comes out in the dispenser.
I am getting a 1E error after the machine washes or rinses just before it lets out the water. Could the inlet valve be the issue? Everything I see points the 1E error to a possible clogged water source or low pressure but both are good and I am really not sure why the machine fills and washes fine but throws a error related to water coming in when it should be going out. Help anyone?
@@repairclinic thank you for your response. I'm in FL so I'm sure its not frozen lol. I took off the lines today and the water was flowing properly. My question is, why would it throw the code after the wash and rinse cycle if the inlet valve is defective? Wouldn't it show the code before the washer is filled with water?
This valve is for the cold water supply. First check to see if you have water to the valve by shutting off the water to the valve. Then unhook the fill hose from the valve and put the hose in a bucket and turn the water valve back on and see if you have good water flow. If that is OK, you may not be getting power to the valve coils from the control board. If you are not getting any water - hot or cold, it is most likely not the valve. Since there are several causes for this problem, you may need to call a professional to troubleshoot further.
Can anyone explain to me why I'm possibly getting the 1E error after the machine is filled with water and washing or if I select rinse cycle, it occurs after the machine rinse cycle. I am thinking the 1E error would occur while the water is going in the machine. Help anyone?
@@repairclinic I was able to run the spin cycle and have the water drained from the machine. Can I assume then that the drain hose is connected correctly? Also the machine fills up and actually begins to wash or rinse when I select the specific cycle but the IE error occurs when it's time for the water to drain that is why I'm asking if the inlet valve issue would occur at this point when the water has already filled the machine and the cycle has ran.
good video however this is my second time to replaced it! i'll hope this is the last. if not buy and buy and buy again this shit lg my washing machine lg brand new after one year the valve are shit. i buy much better washing machine but not lg. the problem of the lg is the valve your wasting your money every year to replaced that.

What happens if you lose track of which hose goes where? 😥

This video is excellent, thanks so much for posting .... fixed my washing machine in less than 20 minutes

Thank you for this video. I subscribed and am purchasing the part from your site, vs typically via Amazon. These instruction videos really help!

+Matt Mcallister That information is not available to us. You may need to try some trial and error if you did not note which hose goes where.
1-main, 2-prewash,3-bleach
