It is okayish for its purpose. First gen NV were never designed for run and gun. As for EFT, it's for people who want to try night runs and have at least SOME vision. The Devil is just spoiled by 3rd gen NV and it's always hard to downgrade. But if you never used any NV before, it's better than nothing.
And before you say, "oh it cant be that bad" Oh, yes it is... I used to drive around on a golf cart with one strapped to my head, (first gen), and I had to go at a speed of like a foot per second... because you couldn't see anything at all.
Well that probably isn't the intended purpose but since your NVG's only go over one eye (the dominant (right) one which is why this won't make a lot of sense sadly) you could be able to put the scope up to the left eye (not possible in Tarkov)which isn't covered by the NVG and use it without taking off the NVG, would make it a lot less useless when used in combination with NVGs but yeah probably for people who can't afford night vision in the first place like other people said.
There is a way to make this scope good actually, put it on an SKS and use it as a sniper rifle. It’s a cheap 6 times mag optic. Using it with sniper rock on woods is deadly.
i love devils videos but i cant watch him loot anything, the circling his cursor while searching drives me far more nuts than poor inventory management lol
i use it at 4am so i can see where im walking while being able to shoot into darkness. half way through the raid its too bright to use but by then it has served its purpose
@@jimbobiv1919 Yes. Adding another nightvision device behind the one that's already amplifying the light doesn't make the source of the light more powerful.
Since it's cheap, I just tried it on offline mode against scavs at woods, just to realize that it's rubbish. And when mounted on some weapons, it's even more useless since the scope is mounted too far from the eye, and since the devs portray eye relief kinda realistically, the scope has even less field of vision, the black circle around the visible image is bigger. On fullsize AKs is fine, on the AS VAL and the AKS74UN, it's too far, but it's partially solved by folding the stock. It actually gets a bigger field of view than in fullsize AKs, but with the offset of having increased recoil and aim sway. On the VSS is even worse because the stock is fixed. I haven't tried it on the SKS. If the game actually had IR flashlights/illuminators it would improve the scope's visibility, at the expense of being easier to detect by other players wearing NV goggles or using this scope. The Holosun and the AN/PEQ do have that function but it's not portrayed in game as of yet. A cheaper alternative to a Holosun or an AN/PEQ would be to be able either an IR led flashlight, or attach an IR filter on a regular led or bulb flashlight.
Isn't it suppose to be bright? Scope amplify ambient light and night vision also amplify ambient light. Looking though scope should be like looking at light bulb. Anyways, this scope is still pretty bad while using it alone.
its a five pound observation scope not an assault scope, it isn't usefull clearing areas because it was never intended for thet, its meant to be used to locate enemies from a defensive position. let alone comparing it to a gen 3 monocular, i mean really they arent even similar to compare
He's using a Night Vision monocular. i.e. one eye. Using a scope with the other eye which is not using Night Vision would not yield the issue you're imagine. I'd guess it's kinda tricky to implement it in the game, but if they can't even adapt that functionality into the game, don't put fucking NV monoculars in the game lmfao.
TheDevildogGamer that’s how it works in the real world but not in Tarkov (for now at least). You can use NVG on ACOG in Tarkov so it really isn’t rocket science to at least predict what’s gonna happen when you bring NVS with NVG bud
TheDevildogGamer, seems to be rocket science to you. If you look closely, you notice that the NVG is mounted on the same side (right) as you are wielding the weapon. This means that you WILL be aiming through the scope with your right eye, which is ofcourse, already occupied by the NVG, resulting in overlapping nightvision.
I was thinking of getting this game, looks like it involves a lot of sprinting and spraying down despite being tactical. Anyone have any idea as to why this is?
Its not really Frances TheMute. You only see RUclipsrs really do this tactic. Along with people that did usually took advantage of the netcode lag but currently it has been getting a lot better which took away "peakers advantage". Thus, staying back strat and being more strategic has become more useful than used to be. Although of course the game is still in progress so we will see how it develops I guess.
Once they add the animations for loadong rounds into your magazines and for healing, it will get more tactical real quick. Not even these guys will be able to just sprint around, once that update comes, is when I'll be downloading it personally.
That scope is pretty close to being usless that is for sure. Dont work if it rains, is foggy or too bright or dark lol. Basicly only works on a starry night. Also its not a pvp scope that is for sure. But a couple of wipes ago i actually did use the scope just to scout ahead a known scav locations when doing some nighttime pve cash runs on shoreline. You can argue that i should have just done some scav runs instead. Or just used a nightvision headset as the cheapest isnt more than 35-40k.
@TheDevildogGamer known glitch at the end. Visual glitch only someone actually picked it up. Although if you discard it it will actually take it from them and toss it on the ground in front of you lol. Then you can proceed to pick it up.
It's an old sniper scope. What do you expect? It was made for reconnaissance or holding a specific angle using AKs, VSS and SVDs over night. The scout/sniper would get to his position at dusk and leaves at dawn. At a time where night vision was a luxus and he only had night vision on his rifle. It's nothing for 50-100m combat. Sadly the fog forced you into such close range.
Battlestate somehow decided to make this scope like 10x magnificated. In real life its no close to this thing, that whole reticle is actually small circle in the middle of your FOV, its no close to be this magnified like in Tarkov
Considering that it's basically designed for staying at base and using ir spotlights. Back then it wouldn't have been an issue my guess seems they didn't expect us to be running around with nvgs strapped to our faces then...
You may well have been able to pull the thing off the gun while in the raid. Run around with it off, slap it on when you plan on sitting somewhere. It certainly looks like that would be the case, and that was what the soviets where doing most of the time with sights anyhow.
Reaper 590 both there's an overall healthpool when ur in ur character at the bottom its 435 max hp so if u get a blackened limb the max hp goes down to like ~350 depending on limb
I tried out this scope last night (offline) 20 mins into the raid the battery went flat and it was useless. Your experience had nothing to do with the fog. That's just how it is
The presence of a legit night vision (with better field of view and better light intensity distribution) in the game makes that scope obsolete. Also using a head-on night vision in combination with a night vision scope just makes no sense, since they would have a cumulative effect: the head-on nvg intensifies the light lrdy intensified by the nv scope, resulting in 'whiteout' brightness levels and diminishing the receptable brightness level differences between pixels - the very point of night vision devices...
I assume its Prapor but I don't know for sure. The last patch set me back to level 1 from lvl 2 for some reason so I have no idea what they added to him. Its really cheap so I would assume its lvl 2 or 3.
That moment when he wants to know why his armor is damaged but this is post armor patch and he forgets and doesn't realize it. Just saying your pre-patched armor doesn't show the new patch armor value unless you inspect it or view it in a raid so people understand what i'm saying. Also taking about the first raid he went on.
DDG you should've went out just the NV scope no goggles. They don't mix. It's a cheap alternative to the goggles. It's decent thru hours. 23:59- 04:00.
Hey Devil, That is really close to what the old russian night vision actually looked like. In the early 1990s, lots of russian surplus came in and it was actually affordable. A few years later (late 1990s) russian and belorussian "commercial" night vision started coming in- it was slightly better. That optic is basically a poor copy of technology from captured US equipment from vietnam. Thats why its so bad.
Yeah, the concept of a NVD hanging in front of your face wasn’t really a thing in the 60’s. That and the technology was in infancy compared to now, so yeah, no surprise it doesn’t work with the monocular and sucks overall.
well i think the way to use that thing is get an sks and this scope and camp night time in woods/shoreline i think that would be a good combination + you don't have to pay for night vision but still the game mechanics at the moment wouldn't reward you for this strat and there is no point of taking sniper rifles you can just use an hamr or a acog sight with a side scope thats all you need and it costs less i wish there was more game modes in this game i mean there is nothing to do you don't have any goals other than quests and pvp'ing i'd like to see 3v3 people fighting over a important stuff that can be used against terra group and thats why 2 teams fight over it wouldn't that be cool ? or make a mod where you spawn random with a hatchet and search for good loot more like dayz y'know theese are great DLC ideas in my opinion

Had to stop watching on tv and come make a comment to otherwise good channel. Go try this scope in real life. Any gen 1 sucks ass. You can’t compare it to pvs14 so devs did exactly right. You get it at lvl 1 so what is the complaint ? It’s realistic as hell as far as I know.
There are some realistic elements that dont belong in a videogame as they are rage inducing and make it unbearable, such as the whole bullets vs armor debacle in EFT right now.
DDG, I hope you will have a chance to try out PNV-57E in game and/or IRL. Here in Russia it costs approx 7000 rub (~125 USD). Gen 1, sir. P.S. That thing makes a beautiful whistling sound. :)
Too shitty to be long range scope Have too much zoom to be mid-close range sight Also... it is freaking HUGE and HEAVY (put 45 mag for the best effect)
It's like someone who bought a Kia being surprised that it can't keep up with Ferrari.
its not that its not good enough.. it's just that it's not practical at all
It is okayish for its purpose. First gen NV were never designed for run and gun. As for EFT, it's for people who want to try night runs and have at least SOME vision. The Devil is just spoiled by 3rd gen NV and it's always hard to downgrade. But if you never used any NV before, it's better than nothing.
but a kia that's going 60mph is twice as fast as a ferrari going 30mph. That's all that matters.
I have one of those... and it looks almost exactly the same as the real life version. Good job devs for that.. I actually think that is pretty cool.
And before you say, "oh it cant be that bad" Oh, yes it is... I used to drive around on a golf cart with one strapped to my head, (first gen), and I had to go at a speed of like a foot per second... because you couldn't see anything at all.
Well its Gen 0 nvg and the monocular on ur head is gen 3 so what did you expect
Plus it's a soviet era NV Scope.
@Percival Gerne, why would it be tho? 0_o what he was trying to do makes no sense
He try it without the NVG because he so used to them and just use that scope.
I guess what's confusing about it is why they would add such a useless scope to the game.
Apparently for players who can't afford NVG's.
That looks very crude, like a smaller Vietnam era starlight scope.
because it is.
soviet
Slav stuff
it's from same era with that thing
Soviet Gen 0 NVG-S
NV + NV = SUPER NV
When you look twice thru the darkness you see the future.
NV squared

night vision goggles with a night vision scope
His NV is a monocular
What did you expect? It's NSP-3 scope from 60'.
Thanks for showcasing this scope. I looted one in a weapons crate and haven't tried it out yet and now I won't
There is a way to make this scope good actually, put it on an SKS and use it as a sniper rifle. It’s a cheap 6 times mag optic. Using it with sniper rock on woods is deadly.
Mmmm i'll try this tip
The scope amplifies light and then you look through it with a light amplifying device and you're surprised it doesn't work?
That inventory management @ 6:25 is semi rage inducing.

i use it at 4am so i can see where im walking while being able to shoot into darkness. half way through the raid its too bright to use but by then it has served its purpose
its also way better on the ak74n
The way nightvision works is it basically multiplies availible light and if you use nightvision on nightvision it will multiply that night vision
No
@@alfredknubble1958 huh

best chance of killing somebody with this is by throwing it after them
Its from the 50's lul
I killed one from 200 meters with 1 shot at day its nice
It may just be me but the scope looks like it belongs on a TOW launcher not a Rifle.
I'm getting pissed with how the devs keep making the scavs more accurate even with shot guns at farther distances
Isn't it suppose to be bright? Scope amplify ambient light and night vision also amplify ambient light. Looking though scope should be like looking at light bulb. Anyways, this scope is still pretty bad while using it alone.

Yes and it also made me punch a baby.
Not to bug you but just wondering when more kingdom come deliverance videos will be coming out.
with this magnification, and ability to switch off nvg, it would be sniper scope... should cost at least double...

Got this out of a raid thinking I got something valuable. Guess not lol
is that 1PN58 scope?
No, that is a huge russian cock
It looks like a night scope from the Vietnam War when they started using them. Very primitive and make for the casual player on a tight budget.

Picked a new nvg scope up on a nighttime factory run it BLOWS I hate it

I run night raids with this on a suppressed AKM and no night vision goggles
I was using this for a spa night run with a friend. I had to take it off
Would it be better if they fixed it
Y didnt u just switch it out for the red dot. You wont have as much range but its still better than that pos
Most Russian night vision of that era was for finding people using ir illumination
Reminds me the "IRBIS" from Belgian Army... (we still use it...)
But unloading the sks makes it 1x5 + mag instead of 2x5
So does anybody think it was suspect that those first 2 guys had decent gear ..... but...... no night vision?
Ok, I just read a post from one of the players and he couldn't see anything so its not sus
They would not be the first people to accidentally commit to the wrong time phase. Between myself and a couple of mates we've done it at least twice now.

I agree, looks like baby shit green with a glare and scope parts on it

Nice stuff! :D

When I used it I noticed it was better during the day
Damn son, thats that $200 Gen 1 NVG scope off ebay lol.
Bruh try like $800 minimum. (It's old and rare)
Shits it’s almost as bad as the thermal scope
I kept hearing it was bad but i didnt know it was THAT bad
Dynamically ass. Had me laughing for some time.
I think most of us could have told you that it wasn't going to be a good idea.
yah i found 2 of then in a Shore line run and i'm like"........Sell.....Sell....only thing it's good for" and it was a good profit :)
why dont you just take it off and use the good nvg's with iron sights haha
Too shitty to be long range scope
Have too much zoom to be mid-close range sight
Also... it is freaking HUGE and HEAVY (put 45 mag for the best effect)
Next try without the nv monocular, just reluing on the scope :)
@TheDevildogGamer I couldn't pick up some guys gear on factory either..... WACK
