As a DV survivor, he's an angel in my book. I am so sorry for what your mom went through and what you endured also. Sending warm regards to both of you from Kentucky.

I love how she still drives his truck when he’s in prison. First time I heard this song made me fall in love with Lainey Wilson

She's waiting in the truck 🥹 In my ending, he gets out on early parole for good behavior and they live happily ever after!

I believe that Hardy's character lost someone he loved to domestic violence.
He had just met her but instantly decided that her only chance was if the b*sard was dead.
Sweetheart you were a child there is nothing that you could have done differently.
It wasn't your fault anymore than it was hers. The fault lies solely with the abuser.
I hope you have both the peace and happiness that you both deserve.

I know it's not a normal reaction, but if you have never heard how deep the Song "Welcome to the Internet" is. You should give it a listen. It's supposed to be comedy but it is DEEP

I wish I would have met a guy like that in the 80s before the laws got harder...back then it was considered a family issue. For over 10 years I was tortured, sold, almost killed by men that said they loved me. I got PTSD and I couldn't have children due to what I survived....it took over 20 years to finally trust someone to love again

I am so sorry you had to go through that and I know it's an experience that stays with you forever. I hope you're in a brighter place now
I grew up with an abusive stepdad who would beat me and my mom so I know the scars it can leave.

Kevin, I would like to see and hear your reaction to this season 2nd place winner on the Voice 2023. Her name is Ruby Leigh and she is singing Linda Ronstadt song, Long Long Time. She has that beautiful true country sound. Thanks.

This song hits me hard as well. I have a very strict rule of never hurting a woman. lol not even if they want me to like pulling hair.. can't do it., My ex spent 15 years trying to make me break that rule. I think in hindsight that because I was the only one in her life who "loved" her but never abused her, she felt I couldn't love her. Sometimes I get really angry when something brings up a memory, then other times I am able to forgive her and honestly have pity for her. I can't imagine a life where every person you dated or got close to beat you. My mom wasn't above whooping us, but I was smart enough to see what my sister got in trouble for and thought to myself got it, doing that isn't worth the belt. Sadly pretty much every woman and way too many men, have been abused most of their lives. Even though this song kills me, it is good and making the point of abuse has consequences.

I'm surprised you haven't done this already and more Hardy songs! Some good ones are "REDNECKER"
    "GIVE HEAVEN SOME HELL"
    "SOBER YOU"
    "A ROCK"
Really Really hope you get to them!!!! He wrote "GODS COUNTY" a Blake Shelton song.. and he wrote for so many artists, including Morgan Wallen... he's a true poet!❤

I think you mean "God's Country", not county. Honest mistake, but I don't want this guy looking for a song that doesn't exist (to my knowledge, anyway).
Also, "Jack" by HARDY is great, too. It's also played on rock stations.

Another song that would be a hard listen but is a great song is "Alyssa Lies" by Jason Michael Carrol. It's a true story.
For another one with a happy ending, I recommend "The Little Girl" by John Michael Montgomery.

Similar childhood to yours except I watched my mother abuse my father. I was young and scared and wanted desperately to make it stop. But we were too little to do anything so we can't be too hard on ourselves. I have the same opinions as you do about what should happen to abusers of women and children. And the guy in this video is a hero in my opinion.

When I was a young man, just married, I was coming back from my afternoon shift I'm the bad side of town. At 2 in the morning my headlamp lit up something on the highway. It was a young woman that had been beaten like I hope you can not understand.i stopped the truck and got her in, but she wouldn't get out! No cops, no hospital! What do you do!!!! So, being young and stupid I took her home to see what the wife thinks we should do. The wife immediately takes charge comforting, healing, and reassuring. Best/worst move I ever made. Young woman was talked into going to hospital, great! Young man that picked her up was a piece of crap for a few months, because I brought a strange woman to our house, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING YOU IDIOT!!!!!

So do I. That SHOULD NOT be the only response that actuality ends the possibility of further abuse, but sadly, it is.
