Myself and 2 other graduates of his school now work professionally in the gaming industry and a huge part of our success was Marc's guidance and excellent program. We love you Sensei. 🥰
Thank you for your opinion on the course. I bought it earlier in 2023, but i strruggle to choose between traditionnal and digital workflow. Andnot gonna lie, its a bit intimidating. I need to be more focus, and took all the teaching of Marc and use it in both ways. I wish you and your colleagues the best ! Have fun !
Already did :) Still wanting to go to art school either abroad (South Korea) or in the US (ArtCenter). Truth be told, I’m not my greatest teacher, lol. But, I do want to be a masterful character artist specializing in mechs, cyborgs and hyper detailed shenanigans (3D-esque rendering, too).

Hearing that you value lighting so much makes me super excited for that portion of your program! 😀 These YT art school videos always keep me excited to keep moving through!
Hi! Love your videos. I bought the art program a few months ago and I find it a bit difficult to get into some of the lessons and assignments because I draw traditionally. Do you have any advice on what I should do?
Here is a method I have done to replicate it: - Select (by tapping the layer and clicking select) the layer you want to have inner glow on - create a new layer on top of the lighting layer, and put the selection you made as a layer mask - by using the same selection of the layer, feather that selection about 15% or however you want it. - invert the selection - go on the layer with the mask and paintbucket the color on it. Tada, manual inner glow. Now you just gotta change the color n stuff
please don´t use a.i. filter and generate programs at all please just learn it the traditional way.the risk is way to high please just don´t do it at all.
I can be wrong, but I read a long time ago that Relight takes the images you upload to them to make NFT's of them? I dunno how true it is but I've been avoiding it personally for that reason. The function is cool, regardless.
I downloaded your brushes, but can’t figure out how to open them in clip studio 😅🥲 I’m still learning my Samsung tablet and CSP. It says I don’t have a program to open them with and to open the Samsung store? Didn’t think I’d need a file reader on this tablet
If you don't want to use ai for your lighting and you have a well shaded image as in this video. Might I suggest maybe making a normal map for your drawing. then bringing it into the unity game engine and using there 2D lights. This will allow a similar result as was shown around 6:17 in the video.
Thank you, always, for teaching us! Thank you especially for looking out for artists as regards to AI and that lighting webapp. It’s good to not only see someone share their wisdom but also keep his students safe on their journey! Much love
I was worried at first about the Relight plug but nice one spinning it such that we can take advantage of their app without selling our art to the devil
CSP doesn’t really have anything like the photoshop layer style feature unfortunately It still has the hard light layer mode so if you want a similar effect you could do it manually with a similar colour mentioned and a soft brush on a secondary light layer, just tracing over the edge of your lighting but it might take some time trial and erroring it to get it looking right. Unfortunately like most things, you can do it without photoshop but photoshop will save you a lot of time
Try turning your light layer into a selection, and then under Edit, select Outline Selection, then select Draw Inside. You'll want to first select the brush (probably a soft airbrush) and colour.
CSP needs layer effects. Probably the main reason why I haven't complete converted over to CSP. I do a lot of illustrations with characters that have powers and glowing things and it's too much of a chore to manually do those things in CSP. Photoshop has those layer effects and it makes it so much faster.
You damn rigth, I just thought about painting picture with night beach bg. So here would be the light from sunset or maybe moon and reflections from sea.
I believe you right click on the layer and go to "layer style" you may want to duplicate it and keep the original layer still because I've had minor glitches when using multiple effects
I finally figured out the secret of gesture is poses and everything so this is gonna be the next thing I learn with color and shading so lesssgoooo. Best art teacher in the land❤
Great video like always! But... I have some questions. Bounce lights shouldn't be the color of, like, the floor or the object color that is reflecting from? And does it affect only the near shadows? Also, the sky light, that is generally blue, it do affect shadows in a blue-ish tint? Thanks for all these videos you make :3
Can someone please tell me where i see downloaded files on Cubebrush? Do i need Dropbox and do i have to link them? Also if i take the cheapest version of dropbox is it even enough for all the courses? Thank you in advance
This is pretty much what i needed. I saw many of your videos using these layers and everything but only now i finally understand the purpose of everything and why it´s done!! Thank you once again Mark!!
Awesome video! I’ll be following all the tips apart from the final one, just realised Adobe had potentially been using my stuff by stealthily opting me in to training their software. I’m not that great though, so maybe they weren’t using my images…
Aw damn, Relight got acquired by Stability???? That friggin sucks. I remember people on Twitter playing around with Relight on their artwork, and that it was one of the "better" examples for AI as a tool in helping artists instead of taking them out of the process. :/ Really solid lighting tips as always!

I get a drawing tablet tomorrow, I can't wait to get into the art course..!
Thanks for the content, Mr. Marc 👍🏾
I use Krita and I just tested Inner Glow. It works! Thanks!
I've always wondered about that inner light you use when you work with light. Now I finally got my answer
These are gems
Anyone know how to get that inner glow effect when painting lighting in CSP? (Timestamp example: 2:38)
Hope ur doing well, love the videos
How much opacity do you keep generally in the "inner glow" effect of highlights?
Tysm ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Another great mini lesson (which works for my ADHD-smooth brain, so THANX!

Hi! Love your videos. I bought the art program a few months ago and I find it a bit difficult to get into some of the lessons and assignments because I draw traditionally. Do you have any advice on what I should do?
If they use it to train their AI, maybe i’ll upload a bunch of “phallic” paintings to it 😂
How do you get it to look like that
Do you have ambient light in its own layer sitting on top of local values?
Does anyone know if there's a procreate equivalent to the inner glow?
Nope, probably is just a red glow brush with a low opacity.
Here is a method I have done to replicate it:
- Select (by tapping the layer and clicking select) the layer you want to have inner glow on
- create a new layer on top of the lighting layer, and put the selection you made as a layer mask
- by using the same selection of the layer, feather that selection about 15% or however you want it.
- invert the selection
- go on the layer with the mask and paintbucket the color on it.

This is one of the most important videos in the channel. Simple lighting will only get us so far. As always, thank you Teach!
How to make inne glow if the csp doesn't have it?
I have the same doubt ✋️

@@crash_jjmarc brunet made a manual version of inner glow in another video.
Does that ai steals my drawings?
You know He's a Great Teacher when he uploads the video with the exact topic and at the moment you need it! Really helpful it was
You damn rigth, I just thought about painting picture with night beach bg. So here would be the light from sunset or maybe moon and reflections from sea.
Wasn’t there an ai app already which had that lighting stuff but it just stole your stuff and didn’t inform anyone. Will never use these ai apps
I would love to see ramona flowers in your art style
Hah, coincidentally I was needing just that ! Thank you for your hard work 😁
Simple Question : Can I become a millionaire if I'm selling my digital art to the world?
I am here Sir. Ready to be an artist.
Relight steals your uploaded data btw keep in mind
Minecraft was the perfect example
What about Procreate same steps or any differences?
When you can project perspective and shadows but can't project a good form shadow and cast shadow.

How do I make it 240 like in the description lol
You can use inner glow in Krita? Is it by using the G'MIC engine?
