Hi, is it a common dysfunction that if there is a lack of hip extension the low back muscle compensate and create that big arch in low / mid back area? Does hamstrings increase activation as well? I noticed that while performing hip extension exercises my hamstrings got fired up first and adductor magnus, but when I tried the same movement but with knee bent to deactivate my hamstrings a bit I felt it so much in glute max and after that my low back feels amazing, like the tension dissapeard.
It is common for people to be tight in the iliopsoas muscles (hip flexor on the front) which can lead to inhibition and functional weakness in the gluteus maximus muscle. This can lead to an increased curve in the low back and over time tightness in the lumbar muscles. Getting the gluteus maximus to fire by bending the knee, along with hip flexor stretching can break that pattern. We hope that is helpful and thanks for supporting our channel.
Unfortunately, my doctor's methods at the university differ from your methods, and therefore I can only study by remembering the doctor's methods only😢
We are sorry our techniques differ, but would definitely go with the method you are expected to demonstrate. We hope other videos may align better with your instructors and thank you for watching.
