I'm guessing a resident of that first house might have been a naval architect for a shipbuilder called Vosper Thornycroft. In addition to those drawings, the knife Ed holds up looks like it could be used for building small scale models, and the Real3D software referenced in the paper appears to be related to structural analysis.
Last week was epic, but enjoyed this week's explore equally as much. Good value per sq.ft! The coal buckets are called scuttles. I looked up John Isaac Thornycroft, naval architect, so family connections maybe. Thanks for another great explore.
All of those old teddy bears were wonderful to see. There was a lot of really cool stuff left behind. The drawing of the ship was an incredible, along with the maps. Thank you Alex and Eddy for this fantastic tour.
@@daphnerosemoon9843 Do you have a special kind of teddy bear brand? I love the "Gund" brand the most. There are over 101 teddy bears from 1 inch to 3 feet in my house from many different brands and places. I've collected all of my life, so at 66 years that's a bundle of bears.
Nice one, really looking forward to this, personally I prefer the house abandonments with the stuff left behind, not quite so keen on bunkers and tunnels etc cos there's rarely any stuff left 😂
Mosanic ware is fetching big money now if you get the early pieces, Kiln craft Staffordshire pottery in that style is from about 1970 ish, remember dishwashers came out in 68. My Gran had a Dishwasher in 1935 ! " My Mum"😂😂😂😂😂
Lovin ever minute of it , thank you Alex And Pompeye foe a terrific Sunday explore , the two places were more than I expected . Take care God Bless , see you next Sunday , Stuart in Canada ..
Another brilliant explore Guy's.. The drawing of the large yacht had "Thornycroft" stamped on it.. The design was typical of the 1920's but Thotnycroft built specialist Naval vessels during WW-1. Sir John Isaac Thornycroft (born Feb. 1, 1843, Rome, Papal States [Italy]-died June 28, 1928, Bembridge, Isle of Wight, Eng.) was an English naval architect and engineer who made fundamental improvements in the design and machinery of torpedo boats and built the first torpedo boat for the Royal Navy.
I got to know about you via the Matthew Williams Fraternity but something that you *Always* bring to RUclips / The Internet is Utterly *_Respectful_* Explores! Both you - and Mr Ed! 👍
Thornycroft yacht builders closed in 1966. Such a shame those drawings haven't been preserved, I'm sure lots of boating types would love the original drawings. Both properties have an air of sadness about them, and I should imagine they've been earmarked for demolition. Great explore, always look forward to watching.
In the first bungalow i had a dinner service in that brown glazed pattern in the70s. That is called a coal skuttle, Mum had one when i was a kid. Great explores lots of things to remind me of years gone passed. Thanks Ed and Alex...missed Ned xxx
Spotted the name Thornycroft, British boat builders, those drawings are of boats upto 1960's. So obviously a marine architect. Company still exists as Vospar-Thornycroft (BVT) As it owns BAE Systems. all military stuff now. Good video
Always a great video from you guys love the banter too and the filming is always spot on also love how the intro is always short and sweet some channels intros go on and on and bore the arse of yie x
What a fantastic couple of bungalows I bet the were lovely when they were lived in, it's terrible that people have been in and smashed so much up anyway guys stay safe ❤️
h there guys ,,,, Ed from Sierra Vista,,Arizona US… Absolutely love your investigation channel so descriptive in every way ,, to have Ed there i one massive bonus he is sooo knowledgeable on items you find Search n find, like him the UK has this charm of yesteryear and you guys crtnly find and share thnks,,,, Ed
Lovely house, like the corridor to catch the winter sun and summer light. I don't find it strange. Hope you put the ship plans and chart away and closed the doors!
Hi Gyz! NEW SUB! I’ve only been watching your videos for a couple of months, I’ve probably seen a couple of dozen and love ‘em. I JUST SUBSCRIBED today, my TV doesn’t allow the comments or 👍, 😠. So, just know, I thank you. I did my exploring in the 70’s- which by the way, was the greatest decade to be a teen or young adult! Rock on boys! 🙏🏼🌎. 💖🇺🇸😎. BTW, I am a buttons fan! 😁
Another good one I'm wondering as you said there's a big house across the road whether they were workers cottages and belong to the estate a lot of old estates just don't have the money these days to keep the places up together
Ok, you guys over there call your hand held lights a (torch) so what do you call an actual fire on a stick or gas welding device. We call those a torch? Just curious...
English English is torch because modern progression from a held stick dipped in tallow and fibre or such. Flash light? Battery torch? Bike lamp - used to be a dynamo.
@23:00 that's not a bong 😅 that's for wine, pour wine into the large spout, hold high in the air and tip to come out the small spout, pouring into the mouth. My MIL had her father's from Spain. It dated to the turn of the century (1900). Such a shame people go and just smash things.😢 so disrespectful. Interesting finds, guys! 👍
The Red racing bike is a Raleigh Europa, it ca.e out in 1975, I swapped my bike a microscope and a telescope for one off of a schoolmate, Riding it down the road one day his Dad knocked me off of it with his car! Police ambulance the lot turned up, turned out my so called mate told his parents the bike was stolen from him, his Dad got prison for using his car as a weapon I kept the bike and got £700 compensation for my injuries and my ex Friend Couldn't sit down for a long time!😂 apart from the Compensation the court awarded me his dad's insurance had to pay almost £1500 for my injuries repairs to the bike and my damaged clothes. We didn't stay angry with each other long, I was best man at his wedding in 87.
I like those houses. I would fix them up . I'll live in one and my daughter would live in the other. She's too untidy to live with 🤣 I could be a proper good witch there. Dance in the moon light and talk to the animals 😊🦊🦊🐰🐰🐭🐭🦄🦄🐲🐲🦔🦔 I day dream a lot😁 I enjoyed that a lot thank you Boys 💖💖💖💖🍺🍺🍕🍕🍩🍩

Another great find in the green Mosanic cat, 1 sold at auctions a while ago for £200!

The cup with a spout is for the elderly to drink.like a modern day beaker xx
I love the nature walks threw the woods and brush before getting to the explore. Always a pleasure exploring with you guys ❤️.
Now that’s strange having such a new boiler and the towel rail in the bathroom was very new looking to 🤔🤔

afternoon people... and may i just say this house looks a right creepy spooky place..

Thanks for recording this house, all those moments will be lost in time very soon as its demolished like tears in the rain.
Sorry missed premier but out on a cheeky Prosecco girly get together so catching up now
Vacant Haven 👍👍👍
Search Thornycroft and you will see all kinds of yachts made by them starting in 1860’s.
getting strong Mr Bubbles vibes from this place!
I'm surprised you would stand on that chair, glad you both didn't fall through it, I wouldn't have trusted it 😮

It is called a Posset Cup, for people in bed to drink from whilst laying down.
U guys find some cool places.
Smashed like button!!🎉
Can’t wait
Your commentary does make me chuckle 😂
I still use those kiln craft plates, inherited them from my folks. Old but sturdy 😂
Thornycroft the boat drawings i wonder if it has any connections with Vosper Thornycroft the Boatbuilders at Cowes on the Isle of Wight👍
There used to be one is Woolston, Southampton too until about 20 years ago
Great vid guys thanks for sharing

You could just imagine the “three little bears” sitting at that table with the plates laid out
Loved this someone and some people loved that house god love them all ..
All these old houses, great for the homeless. We dont have all these nice old livable houses here, get knocked down quickly
Such a cute house.
I always wonder why these places were abandoned. I would love to know the history behind it. Nice video.

13:14 Young Ed on the Sax :D
That toy car on the roof is a Tamiya Hotshot and it's remote control from the 80's.
The antiques roadshow whistle was golden.
That's my guys
I guess the gun stolen from the safe worked as evidenced by the bullet holes in the door glass.
That map was an awesome find….😮
