Dear Christina, your Reading was the answer to my prayer. This is my relationship with one of my middle-aged daughters. Her adolescent sons have been suffering for a long time and so I stayed for them. However I believe , as they love their parents and need them and are loyal, they are just recently on their side of the ‚divide, as you named it, and we have lost the beauty, honesty trust and love we have built over almost two decades in the case of the older grandson. That is heartbreaking and intolerable.
The toxicity, is there and the cumulative feeling of loss of self worth in my daughter has magnified since her marriage, where bullying manipulative coercive behaviour towards the children also is now evident. You have shown me how to express my leaving.

This is so spot on that it’s frustrating. I noticed a change in my heart space towards someone I was interested in and was dating but they shared they weren’t ready for a relationship. We decided to pursue a friendship and my feelings greatly diminished in that process, to the point where I’m questioning if a friendship is worth the energy right now. Yup, he never fixed the damage he did 4 years ago. I gave him another chance when approached me to do some work for him and he was clearly trying to steer it towards some sort of friendship. He’s more into his cat than any woman and he gives nothing emotionally - has even been mentally cruel, so a week ago I thought “what’s the point, this is going nowhere and he’s wasting my time” so I went ghost on him and didn’t even feel guilt in doing that.I couldn’t tolerate the elephant in the room any longer.
