My Grandmother married my Grandfather at 34 years old, 7 years after she lost the love of her life during WW2 in Poland. Nazi’s killed him. His name was Joseph, a violinist. She told me about him at 97 years old and I’ll never forget the twinkle in her eye when she said his name. They were set to be married on Christmas Eve and ever since I heard her story, I light a candle for her and Joseph every Christmas Eve.
My grandmother passed away at 100 years old, almost 4 years ago and I sometimes wonder, who’s arms did she run to first when she reached the other side; my Grandfather or Joseph?

My sister died a few weeks ago, we loved so much Katy and one of the best memories I had with mis sister was going to teenage dream tour, we made a promise that day, we said that whenever we die we would only listen to Katy’s songs, I thought that it was never going to happen ( I was 12 years old and my sister was 17) but now everything has changed, she was anorexic and died because of it, I just remember so many moments with her back in 2013 when listening to this song, it not just a simple song, it brings me back a lot of memories, in Katy’s songs there is a full life. I just want to remember my sister, she was so pure and I hope god bless her soul wherever she is.

i grew up watching these music videos on tv. i would often pretend i was in some crazy love story, and as if the song was the written version of the love i never had. this song in particular (as well as the one that got away) are what i remember connecting to the most. even as a kid. i know most of us girls did that growing up, but i still come back and watch these videos out of nostalgia, and yet i get the same feeling as i did as a kid. i now write music, and realize this was one of the first songs that inspired me to write as a child. so for that, thank you katy ~

We got into a relationship year 2010 and that was the happiest day of my life. We buried our “treasure box” last 2015 next to a chapel near her place. Inside were letters that we both wrote inside the chapel. Letters that we both dont know what we wrote for each other and some little stuff and photos of us together. We both agreed to open the box and read the letters after 10 years no matter what might happen to us.
2019 we broke up and she is with another guy now. I believe that guy was her destiny. Because I can see that she is very happy. I am single and was left behind with all the memories of our 9 years together.
I will remain single and maybe by year 2025, when the year we both agreed to open the box comes, and if she will be single by that time, then maybe I am really her destiny. I can only hope.

It's been three years now and we still talk, but she moved to Hawaii now (2yr contact/ work). I'm in Cali staying single (but open to maybe one day meeting someone).
