Thanks very much Ken. We had an absolute blast! Learned so much In Scotland watching the Sunrise this morning and it’s been another beautiful trip!! Hope you’re doing well 👍👍👍
Thank you. Yes we hoped it would help people who hadn’t done it before - like us. And everything is so different but in lots of ways better than the UK. Hope you’re having a great week 👍👍

Thanks mate. That’s very kind of you Kev. We did learn so much that we thought we had covered! 🤦🏻♂️. But as always every days a learning day. Hope you guys can get back out there soon - we’re hoping January but still not 100% sure Hope the funeral went as well as these things can go Have a good rest of the week and keep improving every day mate
This is a nice summary of your experiences on the continent and I am sure those planning their first trip have something to learn from this movie. I just wonder how your German "twins" will describe their first trip to the UK, but that is another matter. All in all you had quite the trip and it is just 10 weeks before you head back to France (and you are north today), so Florrie has done a lot for you! I was a bit surprised to hear about how nonchalant the Germans are about allergies, but when I think about my trips in Germany I see your point. They are strangely not as organised as some other countries in this regard. Hopefully it was not too bad for your daughter, but it is never nice when it happens. Hope you are enjoying yourself on the road today and be safe! All the best, Ant
Thanks Ant. Ha yes our German “twins” would be disappointed in the lack of park ups and facilities in England - not so bad in Scotland, but the UK is so far behind Europe in that regard. In some places now, vans and Motorhomes are being actively discouraged. 😨 Our daughter is fine now Ant - a night in hospital in AustrIa and released with all the correct medication. She was seen by a doctor the moment she was taken in. Again, unfortunately, over here there would have been a very long wait to see a Doctor 😨. But we did find it really strange how allergies didn’t seem to be recognised on menus as they are here. We’re in beautiful Scotland this evening - a gorgeous little site in the woods on the coast of Galloway - we’re so loving life in Florrie!! Hope you’re having a good week Ant. 👍👍👍
Really great information. We've found aires no problem and good prices. Recycling in Holland you can use the recycling in The supermarkets and get money back. We have loved our time in Europe ❤
Oh wow that’s amazing! Every country seems to do it so differently! Looks like you’re having an absolute blast! We loved our month away. We’re in Galloway at the moment and we just so love being in the van!!
They really have mate. I’ve been thinking and I think it was 1991 when we took or first two kids camping in the Loire Valley. A real adventure and so different to now!! Loving seeing your Grace on FB and hope to be up your way in April \ May 🤞🤞🤞if you’re around then
We have just spent a month in France with our Adamo. We had a vague plan of turning left at Calais but the weather was so bad we headed south so really loved the flexibility of this kind of trip. We loved Camping Car Parks too! €80 is the ‘suggested’ amount to put on the card by the app or website but you can change it to a minimum of €20. We bought the premium pack by accident but we were glad of the ability to book ahead on a couple of occasions. We’re stuck in UK until March so enjoy your next trip! K
Sounds like an amazing trip Katherine. Yes CCP are great aren’t they. I think that booking ahead is useful in some areas. We’re off to Spain in January and a couple of the best sites on the way South only had a couple of spaces left on the dates we’re travelling. But having the choice to change plans is just so good!! We’ve been in Galloway for a few days and now in Keswick. We thought we had arrived at an early Adamo rally as there were three other Adamo’s here! 😃
Hi both, apologies for lack of comments lately, we have been away and got food poisoning while in the van, which then kicked off a lupus flare for me, so I have been out of the loop. Anyway, great tips, may come in useful for us one day. Thanks, Em 💜
Oh god how awful Em. Hope you’re over that now. Yes we learned such a lot and we can’t wait to go back. But in Scotland again now so we’re lovin being out in the van again!
Hi both, another useful video, so just one question if you don't mind? Regarding the Camping Car Parks card, can you top it up on the go - so you put say 80 euros on it and half way through your trip you want to put more on, it that just a simple bank transfer process? Kind regards Steve
Hi Steve. And thanks mate. Yes, with CCP it’s really simple The App is easy to use. When you first set up an account and pay for your first purchase, you will be sent the card. And you can add your first payment on to your balance from the App. That balance is automatically debited when you arrive at the CCP. And when you need to top up your balance, it’s really easy through the App - you can use the same card that you set up initially or change it. We’ve just booked a couple of sites in France for January and so I’ve just topped up the balance. A great resource Steve - really easy to use 👍👍
Hello Dave and Sue, ha ha Sue made me smile , how many Dave, loved listening to your travels, very informative, take care , Julie and Tony x
