1947....now that was a winter. Imagine the headlines if we had that weather now!
My parents the Rooney's lived through this winter in Scotsblair Avenue.
That was 31 years before I was born, and my granny was not even 20 then (although she died in 2004). I did hear about the cold winter from older people I knew. It must be hard to cope then with the war not long over. It was almost similar to this year 2012, as it was cold for February.
Someone disliked it for being in black and white.
