Tyson Bagent has looked more poised after 3 months in the NFL than Justin Fields in 3 years. The Bears should move Fields to running back - he is best at running the ball. As a side note Augustana was a national powerhouse in there college division, look em up they won like 11 national titles in 11 or 12seasons straight if you like to read about sports and football.

I agree title is click baity, but that's a bit of an oversimplification (Plus the Bears aren't exactly world beaters themselves).I don't care who he played, he could've still fell flat on his face and you can only play whose on the schedule. Hoyer looked like trash that game and he's a 15 year vet... It's more about the HOW he looked doing it... Getting the ball out quick and accurately, getting to his 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and sometimes even 5th read with success, keeping the chains moving with his feet when needed, accuracy while throwing on the run, command at the line presnap, keeping the Bears in manageable 3rd down situations (And then converting on most of those 3rd downs), avoiding drive killing sacks, cool in the face of the blitz. Of course it wasn't all perfect (missed a wide open Mooney for a TD, and he got happy feet a few times and escaped the pocket too early instead of trusting his Line.), but there's a lot to like.
I'm not crowning him at all BUUUT this is the type of stuff the Bears have waited to see forever from Fields to do, and he's doing it his 1st game as an undrafted rookie from D2. You'd have to figure he gets better as he adjusts to the pace of the game (Or maybe he won't, only time will tell).

Look I know the kid played a great first game… It’s his first game, so let’s take it with a grain of salt… We know he’s got that capability to be a good NFL quarterback maybe even better and better the more he plays… I’m still a Justin Fields fan But actually this could be the best thing for him… Just needs to sit down and watch how a more experienced young quarterback he’s probably played two or three years more football has thrown almost tripled the amount of touchdown passes thousands and thousands of more yards, five years in college… There’s absolutely nothing that Justin can’t learn from watching Tyson… And I think Tyson knows that he will be helping Justin just because the competition, the pressure and watching another guy run the offense on time, with accuracy and confidence… And make it look good, not like a rookie… So I’m really excited for both of them… And if they even consider drafting another quarterback next season I’ll be really pissed because they need defense idiots… Another center, and most importantly hopefully a wide receiver.. in the first round… Anyway great luck to him and thanks for the video

Is there anyone beside myself that believes Justin Fields knew Bagent would supplant him? I'm certain the kid out-studied hairdo boy and hairdo boy knew it was obvious to the coaching staff, especially Luke Getsy. People don't ever acknowledge there are great collegiate QBs and there are great NFL QBs and not all great collegiate QBs make it in the NFL. I'm old enough to remember Rex Kern. Great QB at Ohio State; played for Woody Hayes. Kern was selected in the 10th round by the Baltimore Colts and played cornerback NOT QB. Fields should move to wide receiver. He doesn't have the hairdo or the IQ to play QB in the NFL. Does Vince Young and JaMarcus Russell ring a bell? You can only dumb-down an NFL offense so much guys before the locker-room calls for mutiny.

The kid comes in and pretty much hands the ball off and dinks and dunks for 162 yards and now he’s the next coming? that’s super delusional especially after everything we’ve been thru with the QB position in this town. And furthermore he has the skill set of a back up, played the game of a back up, there’s no elite parts of his game period but still the thirsty masses crowns him king, what happens when the media pivots back to fields because you know all it’ll take is another 3 td 300 yd game for them to be like “Justin has turned a corner.” But yet you all persist, I’ll say this in closing, the GM and coaches had better get this right and realize who both of these guys beat: the Raiders are bums and the Redskins are bums so right now I’m waiting for grocery day to watch the Bears pick the wrong QB again…
