I’m excited to share our latest steps in converting sod fields into thriving pastures-marking the return of livestock to our farm for the first time in over 40 years. This project is more than a simple conversion; it’s about breathing new life into the soil and creating a resilient ecosystem that sustains itself.
In the video, I walk through different approaches to seeding, from bare soil to unharvested sod, even experimenting with areas treated with Roundup. By using a no-till drill, we’ve kept soil disturbance minimal, respecting the soil’s structure and the microbes that work beneath the surface.
