    Hello everyone, I used for the second time model plaster to create a plaster wall art piece and I also used real plants out of my own garden. I had so much fun making this and I think the end result looks great. Let me know what you think of my Plaster Art Piece. For the people that didn't see my first try using plaster, I will add the link to the playlist. ruclips.net/p/PLWqX7R3JwkuPaEKkinI_4ZwX-YstYXDMO

    I just love how you can walk away from an art form that you have mastered and simply move on to a new area of creativity and its possibilities of opening up a new pathway! This is another gorgeous technique that I appreciate, because of the intricate patterns that evolve from it with stunning results and depth! Thanks for sharing this wonderful experience! :-)

    What is the reason you varnish before paint?
    How do you hang you pieces? I have a 7" x 7" plaster piece that is quite heavy. I wanted to frame it in a deep box frame and have it flat to the back of the board. How do you hang your pieces normally without a frame and if you were to frame them what is the best method to get them as flat as possible to backboard. I think just using glue might not work.

    This is great Petra, I didn't think about using an old cake pan, I've been cutting out the bottoms of ice cream cartons and stuff like that. Funny how parallel we are, I've also been experimenting with all the different media disciplines, such fun. Have you decided which medium you like best? I have loved watching your journey with these mediums, you are really good with the videos. Keep it up, beautiful creations :)

      Thank you so much Webnut1 for your nice compliment. I appreciate it a lot. That's great to hear that you also like to experiment with different media. For me it's very difficult to choose a medium I like the best. Maybe it's depending on my mood Lol. I love to use different mediums together to create hopefully nice effects and structures.

    Such lovely work, and attention to detail! Also, Petra, do you ever use any type of lubricant on the inside of your cake-form to prevent the form from sticking to your clay as you try to open the form and remove it?

    • @petrajongbloed4425
      @petrajongbloed4425  4 года назад

      Thank you so much for your nice compliment Cheryl. I appreciate it a lot. No, I don't use a lubricant on the inside of the cake form. The form doesn't stick that much, because the plaster has hardened.

    • @Cheryl64014
      @Cheryl64014 4 года назад

      @@petrajongbloed4425 Yes, that makes sense. But I was thinking more of the cake form sticking to the clay itself (making the clay mold unusable for future pours), however, I also think that your cake form may be a non-stick surface which would prevent it from sticking to _anything._ Thank you again for your wonderful instruction, Petra! I can't wait to try this.

    • @caronannrifici4350
      @caronannrifici4350 2 года назад +1

      @@Cheryl64014 The clay isn't going to stick to the metal much if at all whether or not it has a non-stick surface.
      your clay mold once it's pulled off is stretched out. I have not found a clay mold that I could use a second time. and that's okay because I want every piece to be unique.

    Mooi gemaakt maar jammer dat t n beetje kleurloos is. Als je dit zou inkleuren en wederom in de vorm zou leggen is het dan in epoxy te gieten? Geen kritiek hoor maar vraag t me af of het mogelijk is.

    • @petrajongbloed4425
      @petrajongbloed4425  4 года назад

      Dank je Madelon. Zeker had ik het meer kleur kunnen geven met acrylverf, maar heb voor dit kunstwerk daarvoor niet gekozen. Het is ook een beetje uitproberen wat allemaal mogelijk is. In de vorm kan het niet terug leggen om er een epoxy laag overheen te gieten. Epoxy hecht aan het metaal van de taartvorm. Ik heb op mijn planning een nieuw gips project gecombineerd met epoxy. 😀
