Bought a Mi A1 on September 15, sold it and bought a honor 7x yesterday. Guys its just a matter of choice I have to admit the rear camera is very good on my A1 but I am not much of a camera guy and want a phone to be extremely snappy with a big display, My problem with the mi A1 was that while using the device you can feel there is something lacking in the software even after 3 update cycles and that really bugged me and with the 7x I get a gigantic display, excellent performance, excellent front camera and an above average rear cam and I am content with it and if you are taking the android updates I was not satisfied with the monthly updates as I could still see issues present and I am pretty sure that 7x will also get an oreo and regarding android P , I am not sure wheather I will use the samedevice till that time , So choice is completely yours
Nikhil Dey That's interesting considering I've never heard anyone else say that about the Mi A1. I think the Mi A1 is going to win best mid-range phone of the year many times. I prefer the look and bigger screen on the 7X too though. It looks very fast in day to day tasks, which is more important to me. I rarely use cameras either. My only true issue is the long charging time on the 7X. The Honor 6X takes a long time to charge too, but battery last all day making it a win. I'm hoping the 7X gets similar battery life to the 6X.
I am not at all saying that Mi A1 performs badly, it was pretty excellent over the two months which I have used and it is fast but I cannot explain it to you yourself use it over a period of time, there are some app crashes the fingerprint opening slowly and not so smooth transitions while receiving the call , these are very minor issues and can be fixed but I am very picky about snappiness of a device and want a phone to perform faster so I switched to 7x and I watch lot of live streams and live football matches so a big 18:9 scree will be perfect for me and regarding the charging time, it is long but I guess it should breeze through a day and I charge it at night anyways.

Gonna get a closer look at the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus. 7X looks better than it too, but still I'm going to give it a good look.
Yeah Redmi 5 plus looks good but I am just bored with the snap 625 and after using mi A1 , redmi note 4 , mi4i , mi max 2 and redmi note 4g I thought lets skip the mi bandwagon this time and honor seemed to be a promising choice
Aditya Sinha yeah you are probably right but let's see how the Oreo update performes but by the way Google is operating I am not too confident , It was comprehensively beaten by a device like 7x which has a thick skin on top and miA1 being a stock device.

It's really hard to decide... I want that sweet stock android on an 18:9 1080p display with VR support and good battery as well as build quality... I don't mind the camera quality. So basically I need A1 software and features on 7X body.
Here's what most important for me when I choose a smartphone 1st - Regular Update 2nd - Battery Back-up 3rd - Software experience 4th- Displays quality . . . . . 100th - Music quality . .
I actually don't mind the bezels on the Mi A1, it looks stunning! Not to take anything away from the Honor, it also looks great with that 2:1 display! Great video C4T!
Mi a1 any day bro also no body mentions the great custom rom development for a 1 it helps a lot believe me after 3 years i still use redmi note 3 with Android 8.1 so the custom rom support means a lot

Im watching on Mi A1 , Its such a wonderful device in Budget that i dont have words to describe , Though i didn't saw Honor 7X live in my hand yet but im sure Mi 1 with S.D 625 Chipset and stock android is a better performer

Good comparison. As you said, there is serious lag in the fingerprint of the A1, but this I feel is a software bug. I am using an mi5x, the same phone with miui skin on top and it does the job very fast. Also there is manual mode for miA1 camera also but the shutter speeds are very limited. Good comparison again.

guru dinesh i get around 5 and half to 6 and half hrs SOT on moderate use. The phone gets heat when i play intense 3d game for a long time also while charging but thats bearable.

Clint Albert At least in theory, 7X's camera should provide better performance in low light because of its monochrome sensor in secondary camera; and A1's camera should provide 2x optical zoom (which it does) & better bokeh/portrait mode because of its telephoto lens in secondary camera.
