Rep. Jamie Raskin Slams Big Oil During House Hearing

- Rep. Jamie Raskin, ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, testified to the Senate Budget Committee about the investigation he led as chairman into the deceptive and deceitful practices of Big Oil. Raskin testified that the fossil fuel industry knew, as early as 1959, the effects their products were having on the environment and sought to bury it to keep their profit margins high.
Raskin's testimony was augmented by a panel of experts who later testified that there was, among other things, a sizable legal case the U.S. could bring against fossil fuel producers similar to the case brought against tobacco manufacturers in the late '90s over false marketing and lies about the safety of cigarettes.

No, there won't. Fossil fuel is mostly from the Carboniferous, over 300 million years ago, because trees were new then and nothing existed to break down the dead trees of the global forest. So dead trees fell and just stayed in the swamp, gradually getting compressed into coal. We don't have the same climate, and now there are things which break down trees. Fossil fuels will not come back again

Not to even begin on the oil and adjunct industries getting billions in subsidies and political influence.

I believe it is better to say the Whole Planet of Earth's life sustaining balance of biodiversity is desperately needing to be saved as it needs to be present and doing it's work within every regionally suited biodome around the world.
eg. We have to stop clear felling forests,native to a particular region that supports the natural flora and fauna within it's understory and canopy. Such imposed plantations are mass planted for the stupid reason of creating big money from a plantation of single species tree foreign to that region, thus making the land barren of God's gift of Nature's plan for that particular region. We need the cleaned up waterways to be put back to use feeding the original, easily selfreplenishing biodomes.
Ending the meed for petrol chemicals is the big step we all need to take away from poisoning nature and ourselves and future generations. Them restore the various natural regions recreating the otiginal natural working gardens around Earth. That includes the waterway and ocean gardens as well.

People who work for 2 bucks a day don't care about pressuring their local representatives (or dictators) to ban plastic bags, or produce more EVs they'll never be able to afford.
