Awesome work! Appreciate the continuing updates. What I'd really like to see one day is a setting to let you transpose the sequencer without restarting the sequence in key trig hold mode - letting you change keys while keeping perfectly in time!
Great to see KORG is continuing to support their beloved instruments! A note for further updates: It would be great to have a button combo that tempo-syncs the LFO (like on the Volca Bass) rather than having to menu-dive for it.
Some really irritating thing about the Monologue is how the clock resets every time you transpose a pattern. Miss the beat even slightly and you will get out of sync. A tempo-lock feature for this seems much needed. Also, a "song mode" by linking patterns/presets (you can totally do it manually, the Monologue engine is fast enough) would be awesome, or at least some other way of getting more than 16 steps per pattern (like the "Flux" mode on the Volca Keys). More play modes for the sequencer would also be great (reverse, random) . Thanks for the update, but besides the Active Step thing I don't care much about the other new features.
If you switch pattern manually does the sound cut off in between? I suppose you have to time it perfectly? And I believe the transpose works better ónly if you slave it to an analog clock like from a Volca, not when it's clocked by Midi.
A feature I would love to see on the monologue is the ability to "lock" the shift button. Maybe by double-clicking or by holding. This would make it a lot easier to play with the negative values of the INT.
I haven’t been able to use my sound librarian since I got my monologue because it’s OS BIG SUR I never would have done that if I knew I couldn’t download or upload patches
If you are getting an Error that says something about the Korg only MIDI driver, (after clicking ok on error box) go into Config on the updater and uncheck the "use only KORG MIDI driver" box then you should be able to click Update. After you power down and power back up, you will be prompted to hit 16 on the Monologue and let it run through its update then reboot when prompted.
I need to mention this again... Love Korg for this. I have been waiting for an update for some Yamaha gear (Refaces), but Yamaha just ignores their entire base until we switch to the competition, well, Korg it is...
Nice update hope Korg continues like this. They have a lot to learn with companies like synthstrom Deluge or Novation! Hey but we all know its hard to evolve ;) also why not an arpegiator???? Pattern chaining????
Please add a parameter randomization function ! (possibly by holding edit mode button and pressing step button 16) Big yes also to the suggestion of Duophonic (Paraphonic) mode ! Please good people at Korg, think of our creative possibilities :) It would bring exciting new joy and inspire us to get creative and keep this community healthy and thriving. I think people would seriously consider paying a small reasonable fee for requested updates.

Glad to see Korg updating their synths. Active step on the Monologue is pretty cool. The main thing I would LOVE to see in an update is the ability to disable sending MIDI signals from the knobs while still using the keys to play my Volcas. I would love to be able to plug a Volca's audio out into Monologue's audio in, so I could make patches with more oscillators through Monologue's filter... the problem is, Monologue's knobs send MIDI to random knobs on the Volcas making it impossible to use in that way.
The updater says it can't find midi. Or it can't find monologue. I've tried almost every method imaginable from registry editing to using a different PC and OS. Also same problem with the sound librarian, can't find monologue.
Brilliant work. Any plans to add an always helpful sample and hold LFO? This is along with the Monotribe one of the most interesting, brilliant sounding, and fun synth you can use for live situation. A live tweable paradise at your finger tips with an amazing sound. Thanks for such a brilliant design synth.

I can't ebvn see the monologue in librarianor my DAW because the driver does not work with Windows properly. It is very frustrating that I have to use backdoor methods to do the same. Even the patch for the May 2019 update does not work evn after installing the KORG Monologue driver.
One problem remains though. On the download page there is nothing to download. It's just a blank page with no software to download at all. This was checked with Firefox, Edge and Chrome.
I really just want more modulation options. Modulating the filter cutoff with one of the oscillators would be nice. Probably just going to buy a new synth with those options though. Overall I still have fun every time I use it.

Hi .. I Have a problem with my Monologue ... after i did the update my korg monologue stopped transmiting midi Notes over usb and midi conections ... so now if i want to use it like my midi control in FL Studio it transmiting only knob signals, and tranport buttons BUT no MIDI notes .... i dousent work ... i am the proud owner off WaveState ,MinilogueXD they work as midi controler all the connections are flawless but MONOLOGUE after update dousent transmit MIDI notes over USB or normal MIDI port.... PLEASE HELP
Hi,what is the latest version of panel and voice? is it also 2.00 as the system version? after the 2.00 update I still have: System 2.00 Panel 1.01 Voices 1.01 it's correct?
The normal mode, when you turn off a step it acts as a rest... still a 16-step sequence but that step is silent. In active step mode when you turn off a step, it skips over that step, turning your 16-step sequence into a 15-step one. Can do some cool rhythm stuff with it.

Love this synth but Id also enjoy a function that sorta fakes polyphony. Im not sure its paraphony Im talking about, but root+third=note seems to be a cool addition.
Folks, is there any way you can point me in the direction of the updater that works on mac catalina as the one on your site doesn't work. Hi, I´m having a serious problem with updating my monologue and prologue as well. I´m doing everything according to manuals. First I instaled latest driver from Korg, than I tried to update both synths but update soft cant find them, it says "Update device is not found". I´m trying to update them one at the time of course. I tried all midi cables I have and all USB ports on my PC. I´d really appreciate any help or good suggestion how to solve this issue.
All the other request comments, I could live without...no big deal to me but THIS ONE. I would love this. That would make the it a complete 1-man gig-machine.
@@oOFTJOo Instead of having to program change with other gear or computer you could do all those things natively by having a pattern chaining function that is simple, come on many acid boxes like x0xb0x have it,its not complex stuff its just chaining a few patterns nothing fancy about that, its not less simple or less intuitive.

windows 10 and this is driving me crazy. Things like these seem to have been easier in times of ISA before plug and pray lol. If I wouldn't love Korg as a company I would probably visit Korg and force them to do the update at gun point by now, whole morning lost to this shit. nobody makes it this hard to just update the firmware.

@@RetroPlus Just unbricked my synth. Somehow, it won't power on, but will still go into update mode when running only off batteries. Then was able to force an update by selecting the appropriate setting in the update software.
Korg be aware that your customers are asking for more than this update. You have to listen to us since its us that pay your bills so just respect US! Its a shame that there is random people doing the updates on volca series for you and you dont say even a word about it! I have a bunch of Korg Synths and i am not gonna buy any more because your customer suport is shit! Put your eyes in Synthstrom Deluge, Novation or even the worst of all Behringer!!!! Look, if you're going to show how to update it, walk us through the download, etc. in real time! Seems obvious, but you didn't show us how to do the trickiest part of it. Show us going to the website, clicking on the appropriate things, etc. I don't understand how this isn't obvious for a how-to video!! Also, even a basic arpeggiator would be the best thing you could update.
What a load of BS, if you're living in the 21st century like most people have Windows 10 or 11 it's on UNupdatable due to KORGSs defective MIDI updater. FIX IT KORG.
i am buying yore products then more than 20 years and evening the KORG ESX 1 has a much better sequencer with 128bars and chained pattern song mod, you can make real composition , not a 16 bar loops boring like ever, i don't know call Richard again give him 100 000$ to do the update , but do something please

Run an external clock into it to have it always start on time when transposing.

How about a sysex firmware update so i can update my monologue because i don't use windows or mac or another method?
I want a way to decrease the tempo under 58, that would be great for really slow sequences.
for now you can get something like that with changing the time signature in seq settings

All working now, updated mine fine.
I just followed the link, [bit lazy by Korg, doesn't take you straight there...] just look for monologue downloads, its working now.

Monologue need extended sequencer. 16 steps is not enough.
Disable the oscilloscope really why? So you can see the patch hmmmm there could be another way that doesnt involve rebooting. Either way silly
