It seems that the sentence structure in English is: "There is/are (something(s)) (somewhere)" If no other verb is used (besides "is/are"), then 有 is used in Chinese, with the sentence structure: "(Somewhere) 有 (something(s))" If the English sentence uses another verb (verb2) besides "is/are", then 着 is used in Chinese, with the sentence structure: "(Somewhere) verb2+着 (something(s))" For example: "There are two people in the room" = 房间里有两个人 (uses 有) "There are two people standing in the room" = 房间里站着两个人 (uses verb2+着) Verb2 describes the manner is which the things exist at the specified location.
The 在 you used in the examples are is to describe relative positions and where something is located. I made a video about it in this video: ruclips.net/video/cvQsw05qPYE/видео.html. But in this video I'm talking about 着 used to describe the state of an acton. For example, 教室里有三个学生 vs. 教室里坐着三个学生. 着 is also similar to 在(-ing), I explained the difference in this video: ruclips.net/video/J5zMOLR5z_4/видео.html
Thanks!

Yes! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Strange, the test at the end of this video was much easier for me to answer correctly than the one where 着 changed the state of an action. 谢谢老师

You're welcome! :)
Why 有 is used? I mean if we compare 有 在
I always say
六个学生在教室里
一个男人住在山上
一辆车在房子前面
一只鸟在天上
