I think this is the best ending though it is sad male lead is useless and cannot protect female lead if the male lead truly loves female lead he should have given up the throne but since male lead chooses imperial power he is destined to be alone and I thank the director for not bringing male and female lead together in name of forgiveness
Yes. That was my take to. Also that no matter how she tried to change fate, she can't squash the ambitions of other people around her. Her clearing the harem for peaceful days for her and the emporer made the Shen family ambitious. M9re realistic I think.

I get that they’re trying to do something different but really, he wasn’t wise enough the first time around, why should she fall for him and hence end up dying the second time? Now if she did otherwise and kept her excitement in her pants, she would’ve emerged the winner in life. Yet again using the plot to degrade a modern day woman.

Well, I think it's a wrap for me, every scene has her being ploted against, so for in the 39 minutes that I've watched, there's no down time against the evil queen, concubine or the rest of the palace. Boring and redundant drama. I love the fl but I just can't waste my time on repeated plots throughout the whole show.
後面的二十分鐘的劇情,更像是畫蛇添足,結局不好。

A new plot, wow. I like the twist, that whatever she did to save her family her family really was at fault & she has the courage to accept defeat at the end. But emperors of these drama I mostly watched are easily being manipulated. How are they reacting & believing to every tear of his women? See how she played him on her palm after knowing how the women works in that era. Its just all about tears & submission. I don't really like yhe harem setup, bcs we all know those women wld know nothing but to scheme & the worst is, everyone knows even the princes are killing each other much less the concubines. U cannot survive if u are weak thus u only knows how to play. It's really wild. Why not marry one woman & let her birthed to future emperor & nurtured him to have a good & healthy environment not the survival of the fittest. But I guess, it's how it's use to be.
