In my opinion, the rap line is what makes BTS unique. Yes the vocal line is great , they really shine on their own, but as a group, the rap line is what makes BTS different from other groups.
oh yeah def. i mean their songs in general totally differ from everything in the music genre i know in general but i''ve also never heard ppl rap the way they do. it totally changes the song too depending on how they do it. i am in love with vocal line (also having vocals i never heard similar ones in my life with many different colors). i am a vocal sucker but the rap line def is also something that makes it kinda. like they wouldn't even have that type of hip hop genre when they debuted (and still sometimes have) if this rapline wouldn't exist. they totally influenced the direction bts went. pretty sure bang pd was planning to have this kind of group but i doubt it would be that much of a group that goes that deep into the roots of hiphop if it wouldn't have been these 3. let's also not forget seotaju even performing with them which imo wouldn't have happened without this rap line. such a great balance within the group.
