- Here's "MHW Iceborne - The 10 LEVELS of Lance Part II". Sorry for making you wait longer due to IRL stuffs and limited hardware (yeah, my creativity and idea are infinite yet my PC and console are potato). I've been spent about 5-6 months and hundred hours for editing process (trial and error, script writing not included). I almost cried when I finished this video. Finally, I could finished a Lance video that had been stuck on my head for so long. Also, this is probably will be my last Lance video in MHW Iceborne. So, I hope you like it. Overall a big improvement from the first video in terms of using practical lance techniques, I also like the ranking of the movements better as well.
One thing that I still long for that both videos lack is that classic lance speedrunning combo for the best possible DPS i.e. ( x3 high thrust followed by an immediate dash attack finishing-thrust) to which I would have placed in the later levels.
I always love a good dunk montage but I feel that at level 10 there was a big missed opportunity to really showcase the talents of the speedrunners who came together to make this video by allowing for longer clips of aggressive fast paced combat that lance is known for as well as seeing these techniques utilized seamlessly in fights.
Overall I enjoyed the video, liked the music, big shout out to the runners and lance fanatics that came together for this video, y’all did a good job! I still think that this type of video could be made a 3rd time with more in depth detail and highlights of each technique used in practical situations rather than forced set ups. Hoping to see if y’all make a sunbreak video for lance. GG’s

A: Actually, I planned to add the 3x High Thrust into Dash Attack and Finishing Thrust combo in my original script. But, for my consideration it could make video duration/length longer and could ruin the classification of The Dash techniques in Lv3.
Q: I feel that at level 10 there was a big missed opportunity to really showcase the talents of the speedrunners who came together to make this video by allowing for longer clips of aggressive fast paced combat that lance is known for as well as seeing these techniques utilized seamlessly in fights.
A: The speedrunners who participated in this video (Lancer Cast) only me (DC Shiori) and Present, the rest are my Japanese Monster Hunter Misepu (魅せプ) and MAD (MAD動画) creator friends (they're not TA players/speedrunners). Also, it's impossible to do a TA without showing any HUD in the video (most of the clips captured/recorded on PlayStation 4/5 platform). So, for Level 10 (Lance Legend) the video is all about Lance Misepu.
Q: I still think that this type of video could be made a 3rd time with more in depth detail and highlights of each technique used in practical situations rather than forced set ups.
A: Definitely, I could make in-depth detail and highlights of each technique. But, the format of the video is cinematic-oriented. It's impossible to add a lot of explanation text overlays and stay cinematic. It will make the video less cinematic and be guide-like (It could be more than 1 hour If I made the format with in-depth detail and explanation).
As I said in the pinned post. I just "show" and "don't tell". I showcased every Lance moves in the video without further explanation. So, I hope everyone pay attention to the each Lance clip/footage and learn a lot of things from the video.

can anyone explain what i'm looking at in level 9 (guard sense, guard reflex)? he seems to be managing to block stuff but i can't tell what he's doing there. is it well timed guard dash? or something else? all the footage was fantastic, especially the level 10 stuff, very satisfying
Guard reflex or guard sense = well timed guard execution with knowledge about monster's attack pattern

Makes me want to play the lance.
So based on this, Im about a lvl 8 Lancer, but since I still struggle with timing on the Clutch Claw and the Slinger Burst counters, Imma drop down to about a 6. What I feel like I will never master (Cause I honestly have no earthly idea how you pulled it off) is the Multi block at 7:55 pulling you into the monster and the Multi Rush Block at 8:58. At least the rush block I have tried before but I always get knocked over.

7:55 is Power Guard but facing backwards against a lingering attack (remember it's 360 degree block) and using the knockback to move yourself in reverse. 8:58 is just having the balls to charge into jump attack against Shara's beam while wearing Rocksteady mantle (which reduces damage taken).

Just press guard button immediately after claw attack landed.

Thank you. You can perform backward guard dash after hop. Use move button + R2 button to aim guard dash to side, front and backward.

Every monster part has its damage threshold. I can't explain it more. It needs a lot of practice, mastering Monster movement etc. There's a term called "Misepu" in Japanese Monster Hunter community. I probably will make guide about Misepu in distant future. Thanks for stopping by Nya!

I feel like Lv8 is too situational; I love a stylish 180 but sometimes I think there are better options and a lot safer but so stylish nonetheless!

@@dcshiori MHW is the best looking MH ever imo. I'm rlly hoping MH6/MHW2 will look like this as well, but even more improved :D I do hope weapons get more variety in visuals tho compared to World. A lot of weapons in MHR look super cool
i don't think that ''level''-order has anything to do with how difficult it is to learn the movement. it's probably random..
not to sound disrespectful or anything. i think this is cool, good looking footage, but some of those ''lance techniques'' are just.. plain game-mechanics.. i mean.. counter clutchclaw.. that's no technique.. it's waiting for the monster to attack you.. i mean it certainly looks good, when the monster is staggering from that, and as said, you have nice footage of that, but.. that's rather filler material to deliver something for the 10lvl-format, rather than an actual technique, or even a playstyle. maybe it helps to make that really badass and hard stuff in your video to look even more badass.

Sorry Anilex-San, I think that you would better to look for a proper Lance guide. The purpose of this video is to showcase all Lance techniques in the game. The level order might be a subjective matter for some people. I made this video based on my experience as a verified TA Wiki speedrunner and research from my Japanese Lancer friend, Tech-Lancer (a professional + most well-known Lance blogger in Japanese Monster Hunter community).
Some Lance techniques showcased in the video are basics (we play the same game and press the same button for the techniques). Yet, the implementation could give additional information to the use of all Lance techniques in different situation. Thanks
As Vaal has pointed out, I think you're only looking at the surface level and thinking, "Oh he pressed 2 buttons and did a thing. How hard is that?" But you're missing the point. A lot of the clips show extremely interesting and creative ways to counter their monsters using timing, good positioning, and chaining combos of different moves together to evade, block, or punish an attack.
@@dcshiori nothing to sorry about. i just noticed it in multiple videos of yours. instead of apolohizing, you could explain what makes the ranking relevant. what i better look for is non of your concern. i just point out what seems outstanding in this format. i can play every weapon in the game to a degree of understanding what a ''technique'' is and what is just a simple move you can pull off. counterclaw was just an exemple of something really underwhelming compared to your acutal skill. expecting an incoming attack and performing a basic move is not a technique. you mistake me with someone who needs a guide. i just tell you that .. well, read it again and understand it better next time.
