My father was an alcoholic. After his death and autopsy they found his liver to be as hard as a rock and very dark. Now I'm not saying drinking is bad, but things like alcoholism does do damage to your Liver. It is a very important organ and shouldn't be mistreated. Please, don't over do things the way my father did :/. Treat your liver with care.
Wetrosky J that takes time, his ldad probably had cirrhosis and fibrosis of the liver due to the long term sustained injury from excessive alcohol intake . Moderation is key !
But why did your father undergo autopsy? .... In my country until and unless you have unusual cause of death, like a road traffic accident or burns, you don't have an autopsy done..
