One of the craziest thing I ever did in my life was hiking up Mt fuji for 12 hours straight without sleeping 24h beforehand because it was my last weekend in Japan. After I reached the top station, I just took a nap on. The rocks next to the volcano crater for a full hour. Seeing the sunrise on Mt Fuji above the world was the most beautiful natural oocurence I ever witnessed with my own eyes.
This brings back memories. It's been 17 years since I was at the summit, but I remember the restaurant and restroom in particular. I had ramen. But water boils at a much lower temperature at that altitude, so the noodles, which were instant noodles, were still pretty firm. It took us 6 1/2 hours to go up, and only 4 to go down. The descent was painful. Would I do it again? Yes. This time with a better camera. And I'd walk around the crater, as well. We were so tired, we didn't do anything but eat, take a quick look into the crater, then head back down.
I had no idea there were large buildings on the top of Mt. Fuji...that's pretty impressive. Must have been a bitch building roads up it and delivering supplies.

富士山を登って始めてこの空道を見て驚きました上から見た景色と頂上で見た雰囲気は違いました下を見るととても深く落ちてしまったら上がる事は出来ないような恐ろしい空道にも見え又感動もしました。
