People nowadays don't want good movies stories or anything they want programs and shows that are over the top and mediocre this is the state of Indian cinemas in 2024 Indian cinema industries need to have good writers there is a clear lack of good writing in many cinema industries
I heard a shocking story where they want shows on streaming platforms to be mid so that when the audience is engrossed on their phones and miss a few minutes of the show, they don't miss out on anything. A show that should be conducive to secondary screen viewing as most audiences are engaged on their primary device: THEIR PHONE!!
Writers are not paid enough in the industry. They get barely any recognition and are mostly not even noticeable. The focus is mostly on the celebs and a little on the directors. Such is the condition of writers in India. A huge reason why we don't have good writers is because most of them aren't paid enough and they consider leaving the industry. The majority of the Audience never focuses on the story or script of the movie. The primary focus is on the actors only. Example being this series mismatched itself. Rohit saraf and prajakta bring a lot of traction. Even ahsas channa brings in a lot of fanbase.
As a gen z, For romance, i would rather read indian Wattpad stories than series NOW. I wonder, what if those indian Wattpad stories are converted into series??? Agar paise itne zada hn then Its better to make a Wattpad story wala series than sh!tty stories. Also I just don't understand hate against Wattpad. I started reading it a while ago, now im addicted to read more stories. South korea leads Drama industry bcoz of Novel writing culture & webtoon culture. They have democratised story writing with it. Hence, they dont lack quality content. Same woth china with its Webnovel. West with Wattpad. I was surprised when one webtoon that i had read called the bussines proposal was converted into Kdrama. Most famous kdramas are webtoon based. Why can't it happen in india?? India should also have a story writing platform, then famous Stories from that platform converted into series & movies & Animated movies like japan. Only then we can ensure Quality content. Story writing is art that should be democratised
I mean I get your point but to be honest Wattpad is really shit let me tell you the story of 90% content available a rich guy maybe a mafia/don/businessman obviously a red flag falls for or forcefully marriage to a girl with unfortunate past or maybe weak whole story revolves around it with a lots of over the top sensuality and drama it's okay to please teen girls hormone but doesn't have a really good storyy
@@shreyanshupadhyay3125 I agree, many stories are cringe 😬 in Wattpad. But it's still better than the Mismatched couple story or some other no-story film & series. If we democratise writing & have our own writing platform. We can get quality content too with no CRINGE.
The arguments and fights that dimple puts forwards are just unnecessary! Compared to Bandish bandits, whatever argument they have is at least valid to a certain extent. and even in intimate scenes between Rishi and dimple I don’t feel anything I mean I just can’t bear them together or whatever! Whereas in bandish bandits when they come together for even a small kiss I am jumping with joy, because I am actually rooting for the characters! Honestly even comparing both feels wrong to me!!!
So true. Rishi and dimple have absolutely zero chemistry. Ahsaas and Rohit Sharaf would have been a better pair. Ahsaas would have banged that geeky character of dimple
The storytelling can only reclaim its essence when creators stop catering to the masses , ticking off all boxes and start projecting story genuinely to what it needs vs for what trend seeks .
I feel bad for the book , I read the book when I was 17 and it was a great book that spoke about how both protagonists felt trapped and in between being American and Indian, as a Indian immigrant it resonated so much with me. It is so sad that they destroyed that book.
I mean I agree. I think the aspect of mismatched that drew me in was the queer romance. But like any other indian show with queer romances, i could immediately sense the lack of authenticity and I could sense that not a single queer person has been put on this project. I think the part of what makes queerness so compelling and queer love so real is the struggle of it all. Be it societal, familial, or personal. And funnily enough, the struggle aspect of celina’s queer journey was completely left out in s3! That really felt like a cop out because understanding your own queerness is a beautiful journey! One thing media in general fails at is appropriate representation. To represent is to uplift oppressed voices not to skew it to your perspective and present it as a half baked afterthought. I will say that s3 did attempt to show communication issues in relationship and i appreciated. But just like any arc they pick up they never went through with it. Besides i’ve said this before and i’ll say it again rohit saraf’s character is literally just act 1 ken! He needs to self actualize because he barely has a personality. Typical rich boy syndrome. I think there was just so much potential with the communication arc (that could’ve been done without character assassinating dimple). And it could’ve tied into the sex plotline because most young adults don’t really think to or understand how to communicate with their partner during sex. What’s frustrating is that they slightly dabble into it and then hard pivot away from it.
Dimple as a character was irritating to watch but i loved rishi aka rohit's character and everything else about the series- the cinematography, the storyline, the side characters. Jimmy wanted this series to be an ace but it is actually a jack of all trades.
I absolutely agree with what you said about Rishi … he started off as an adorable guy - a hopeless romantic… but he lost all of that in season 3 … his cuteness came across as cringe and Rishi basically became a simp 😢 sorry but that’s what I felt … even more than Dimple, Rishi felt irritating this season … the only one I liked was Anmol ❤❤
Bandish bandits is so much better in terms of story telling they hardly lose the flow. That's why it's better to have a single central plot then several ones running riot, they are not even giving time to breathe and conclude most of the parallel plotlines. Like what happened about Vinny's campaign and her tussle with her friend circle....... Is dimple actually mentally stable?..cuz it didn't seem so....does Krish found his recognition.... maybe that's for the next season. This has become an Indian ver. of Emily in Paris, ik it's mid but i can't stop coming back to it.🙃
I wish they had given Rannvijay's character more scope to shine. Don't think/ can't remember any other Indian show/ movie that has explored how a man feels about being a role model to his child; specially when being a teacher and feeling like he's failing at it. Dimple and Rishi at this point are just..... i don't even have words.
I think people changed how they view their entertainment media. Series like these get renewed because people are prioritizing guilty pleasure shows/movies over good stories because its easy to watch a throwaway show rather than watching a complex and creative media cause it requires time and patience. For example, I don't know if you have watched better call saul but it is almost amazing as bb or I might say in some aspects it is better. But few people know about it because of its slower pace writing and building momentum which pays off at the end. I describe it has the fast food entertainment where we consume it and forget after its done and have some momentary pleasure with it and its addictive.
As a 22 year old, the trailer for mismatched never fascinated me. Not even the first season. Hence, I never watched it despite my peers raving about it. The only reason I sit through the reviews for this series is to know about how other people perceive this series. So no jammy you are not a boomer uncle we can join you in on it
Season 1 was okayish but it just went all over the place after that..now they’re just trying to cash on the ‘chemistry’ thing and going above n beyond promoting that..there’s no sense in any of the seasons..zero effort in writing and character development! And their audience also wants to just see the lead pair getting married, that’s it! But guess what, the even more disgusting part is the makers instead of ending the show with what audiences want are just dragging it with every season ending on a senseless cliffhanger just so that audience gets frustrated and asks for another season..that’s all they want to keep doing! I don’t know how the actors are okay with this bullshit, or is it because this is all they have??!!
Bandish Bandits season 2 is such a Great Show. Brilliant acting by Shreya Chaudhary and Ritwik Bhowmik. But the scene stealers are Rajesh Tailang, Kunaal Roy Kapoor and Sheeba Chaddha. There is a powerful moment for Rajesh Tailang's Character which made me cry. Also the Music is soooooo good in the series too
the dimple dynamic is classic annoying "baddie" with a hot softspoken boy who is persuasive and takes abuse from her as a bi person i hate this dynamic too all men you deserve better if this is portrayed as love for you in your life by others
Points 1. Milking a successful series has its limits. Just STOP where it was GOOD and start something new. 2. That RUclipsrs need not be good actors is amply proven. Ms. Prajakta should go back to what she's actually good at. 3. Thanx for the review.
I was eagerly waiting for this review and completely agree with all your points-especially regarding the addition of the trans character. The backstory felt quite unreasonable. They definitely could have integrated the character into the narrative in a more empathetic and meaningful way, making their presence feel impactful and truly inclusive to the main story. But honestly, the most disappointing aspect of Season 3 was the lack of a singular thread connecting all the characters to a common story or theme, which worked so well in Seasons 1 and 2. This season felt fragmented, like a general discussion trying to touch on every socially relevant topic-relationship struggles, gender dysphoria, adoption, inclusivity, calling out woke culture, etc.-without giving any of them the depth they deserved. I honestly wanted to rant here because I knew you'd resonate with how frustrating this season was! PS:I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but Harsh and Dimple had what I’d call an emotionally balanced and mature relationship
Tbh Jammy's review was far more interesting than the whole of Mismatched S3. Atleast S2 explored Anmol's character but that was also mostly abandoned in this season
You're as relavant as ever. This was worse than the 2nd season. Disappointed but not surprised. Rohit Saraf is a great performer and he deserves better.
Writers are not paid enough in the industry. They get barely any recognition and are mostly not even noticeable. The focus is mostly on the celebs and a little on the directors. Maybe if u put out a video on the same, it will give rise to some more discussions.
This checking all the boxes in a storyline is just absurd. There were shows which i used to love for their simple plot and story but this ticking all the boxes in term of representation ruined them. Either you integrate them organically or just let it be.
Jammy watch Bandish Bandits Season 2. Leagues better than this. Especially the music going full on classic in this season. Watching Arjun Rampal after long time almost a decade was pure bliss. I I genuinely wanna know your thoughts.
Not really a huge movie person. However, I honestly like your PoV towards films. It gives a fresh perspective, a different approach to look at things. Way better than the 3/5 rating amazing work check 😂
Even people raving about Bandish Bandits S2 as a masterpiece is an example of how far the standards have fallen just in 4 years for acting, scriptwriting, music and storytelling.
Also somehow at the end we find out that Nandini Nahata paid Dimple's fees in that event. But we don't really get an explanation on why she did that. Or what inspired her to do so. Or how exactly dimple realized that. That was just so random. And then Dimple being the main character should have come up with a good app idea. But she was doing nothing the whole series but just mourning her rejection and seeking Rishi's attention. Then at the end she came up with a stupid app which wasn't even so good. The only great app idea she had was on the first season. And then she failed to come up with anything new. That just proves that she is good at nothing but that stupid game. Honestly the only part I liked was when Harsh made an appearance. Even just from that small scene I felt like dimple had better chemistry with Harsh. She was finally able to cry freely about her loss, just by seeing him. That honestly proves their connection. I would have loved it if they made him sing their iconic song just for a throwback to season 2. But I just hate dimple. I hate how she literally gaslighted Rishi into thinking he was living her life and he doesn't deserve this. This is not something he should do. Whereas I see him quite literally enjoying his work at the begining of the series. If he wasn't enjoying it, he wouldn't have been good at it. Then at the end he just left that career path because of HER
they target genZ and still create a female lead character who is immature, act out of logic, selfish and bold in unwanted situation in the name of independent woman. What a misery! I feel like at this point the Indian producers/writers/director should try to make some normal romantic drama like movies Siya Raman, 96, Barfi.
Finally someone spoke my mind!! Rishi deserves someone who puts him first, their relationship first, and equal efforts like him where Dimple is just full of herself, A topper genius who can't figure out things around her, ofcourse its terrible to have you're dream crushed but why can't you feel happy for your loved one when he's achieving things, being happy, making good friends etc. Don't get me started when she was crying on her engagement when Rishi happily agreed to the engagement which Dimples mother emotionally blackmailed him in to giving up his youth(you know how genz's are scared of commitment's accordingto the series) and what not. Even though its just a fictional character, no human deserves to be treated the way Dimple treats Rishi in season 3.
Jammmyyyy..pls make a review about bandish bandits as well..cuz i think its us audience who is pushing mediocre shows like mismatched by always giving it a chance it the name of guilty pleasure..but i am sorry its not even that also bcuz its that bad..and man I hate dimple so fuckin much..like I don't know if any character from all the series I have watched had goten on my nerves that much..I think we should give shows like bandish bandit a lot more love and appreciation than this freakin mess
They is something about Prajakta that gives me cringes from the beginning, right from her being an influencer. Her "comedy" videos were senseless, and even her interviewing bollywood stars was irritating to watch because of her frequently interrupting the interviews with her baseless conversation. She's just seems to be lucky to have such a huge list of fans
I am Genz and Its been YEARS, I have rarely watched any movie/show in this industry. I don't have enough time to try different shows then think whats better.
Why am I not surprised that the director of this show (btw I haven't watched it), and Ishq vishk rebound is Nipun Dharmadhikari? And why am I also not surprised that both feature Rohit Saraf?
It's also about the creators jo aise shows ko hype bhi dete, .... you choose to watch mismatched, instead of bandish bandits season 2.... dissopointed by your choice... jo show deserve krta use hype nhi kr rhe...bandish bandits truely the best drama series on Indian ott
Let me to say something that will make everyone disagree and absolutely hates me: 90% of Indian movies/shows and Indian audience are CRINGE; we need to improve. I'm waiting for angry and hate comments 😅
04:53 No, that's not the subplot, it's where the funding came from, for the renewal of this season. I hope you get aware of how the world works, so you could review better.
I think in the process of writing dimple’s character as a self aware, all knowing, independent girl, they projected her as a complete narcissist, a bully, carrying a negative energy with her at all times. She stops talking to her mother after her father passes away, BUT WHY? She makes a fool out of Rishi. She is impossible to bear on screen. Makes you wonder, WHAT DOES RISHI EVEN LIKE IN HER? The absolute bitterness? Or The sheer arrogance and ignorance?
I watched this cringefest of a show only for Zeenat and Sid. Loved their dynamic and love story. I just wish that the show was about them. It would have been way better.
Ohh myyy godd that was needed...i was only watching it for the sake of rohit saraf and i am on the 5th episode.....i just feel thatttt till the 5th episode nothing apparently happened...i belong to genz but still i couldnt connect with characterss......the only good part was that picturisation of song ishq......they didnt explored the insecurities of alif and how wrongly krish was influencing him to get a girl which can be a good subplot.....didnt explored the problems between rishi and dimple while making love...in 1 episode they felt it didnt worked out on bed and on another they did it....also they didnt explored the insecurity that anmol had with vinny why he couldnt open up to her......alsooo krish's relationship with his parents left unexplored..... rivalry between krish and anmol, celines emotions fighting whether to choose krish or rithh.....alsoo the topic of rith is left unexplored...also rishi's work and love balance gets unexplored....dimples insecurities becuase of her past failure and how to coope up with it left unexplored....also they havent explored the zeenat and sid's relationship which could be a good contrast to dimple and rishiii...... and many more topicss......oh my goddd this series had so much potential to deal with these topics which are actual genz problems but all they had shown party, sex, kisses, changes of partner etc..which apparently is the imagination of just some 13-14- teenagerssss
I loved the first season, but the infidelity was not for me from the second season. Did not have any Idea there is a third season, until I saw your video title.
Suddenly I think of Splitsvilla. Kya hai, kahaan se aaya hai, kyon aaya hai, kyon chal raha hai ... absolutely no idea. But hai . Also if Anmol is Boomer Uncle , I am 2 or 3 years older perhaps. Am I Boomer Taau ? Lack of watchable content ke kaaran TV to kab ka chhod diya, ab streaming bhi ad bombardment kar kar ke bulaayega
Sometimes I feel like india is a trashbag full of mediocrity in all fields. I really wish we as a country become rich in abstracting ideas that get executed.
Broooo!!!!! So with you on this one!!!! Everything you said is exactly what I felt!!! And I did want to stop watching this in the middle. It's so irritating after.
As genz I'm totally on your side this show just takes topics and ticks off once they are lazily sort of discussed I stopped watching this after the first season and couldn't care less about the spoilers
This S03 feels like a repeat of S02, just with few new characters and added problems that are introduced but never fully addressed. Couldn't agree more that the Dimple-Rishi storyline felt off and cringe, especially with the abrupt ending. The side characters still stood out and outshone them.

We need that asap
Lol Wattpad sucks
I mean I get your point but to be honest Wattpad is really shit let me tell you the story of 90% content available a rich guy maybe a mafia/don/businessman obviously a red flag falls for or forcefully marriage to a girl with unfortunate past or maybe weak whole story revolves around it with a lots of over the top sensuality and drama it's okay to please teen girls hormone but doesn't have a really good storyy
@@Jasonmccan-n7hI would really like to know your opinion sir
@@shreyanshupadhyay3125 I agree, many stories are cringe 😬 in Wattpad. But it's still better than the Mismatched couple story or some other no-story film & series.
If we democratise writing & have our own writing platform. We can get quality content too with no CRINGE.
Being a GenZ, I hated Mismatched S3. Like you rightly pointed out, there was literally nothing going on for 8 episodes.
Checking boxes is exactly what happened with later Sex Education seasons. They didnt focus on the central relationship between characters at all.
The best part about the series is Harsh cameo scenes and Sid and Zeenaths plot and they could explore so much more about Anmol and V
Yesss thank you for talking about bandish bandits!!! It deserves the attention! And it’s a really good season 2 in my opinion! ❤️
Dimple has to be the most annoying character of the season 🤷♀ And Jammyy, never doubt yourself! Sometimes you just have to call it like you see it 💪✨
The storytelling can only reclaim its essence when creators stop catering to the masses , ticking off all boxes and start projecting story genuinely to what it needs vs for what trend seeks .
@@tejeshshettty don't understand how does the trend even start ? Like whoever considers these things are trending? Seriously worried
Petition for Jammy to do a detailed review on Bandish Bandits 2 ❤
We need more people to watch this show so i can discuss it with someone at least😅
Consider this a panel for discussion! I believe there are sub reddits for the same
@uditpramanik3084 will check them out. Thank you.
Can't believe a flop season 2 is also getting sequels on Netflix meanwhile the best shows are ended in a cliffhanger with no signs of returning
Never been this fast for a review (wanted a good roast) 💀
Watch Bandish Bandits season 2 instead..it’s really good..would love to know your take on it Jammy!
I feel like they just wanted girls to make reels about how much of a “green flag” rishi is that they forgot to give him a personality 😂
Bandish Bandits Season 2 review please please please 🥺. It definitely left a lasting impression on me. Still not over it hours after watching!
Also the Music is soooooo good in the series too
the dimple dynamic is classic annoying "baddie" with a hot softspoken boy who is persuasive and takes abuse from her as a bi person
i hate this dynamic too all men you deserve better if this is portrayed as love for you in your life by others
There is an audience for every kind of show on earth! Audience is unpredictable when it comes to watching content!
Points
1. Milking a successful series has its limits. Just STOP where it was GOOD and start something new.
2. That RUclipsrs need not be good actors is amply proven. Ms. Prajakta should go back to what she's actually good at.
3. Thanx for the review.
Video banaiye please, Bandish needs more recognition... iski tarah popular hota toh jaldi jaldi season 2 aata...:"(
Season 2 is amazing, par koi review nhi krr raha, kyuki views nhi milenge💀💀. the soundtrack is a total masterpiece.
This is called second screen enough content.
I can't believe this has been normalised
The only good thing about mismatched is taaruk he acted the best among all of them and only his storyline is not cringe and something realistic
10:54 almost same is happening with Emily in Paris. Going back to Gabriel every other season and leaving him. 😂
This is a classic example of "second screen" content. You can be immersed in your phone while watching it and still not miss anything.
Thank god there are people like me who don't like this since S2.. 😅
Luv ranjan should write scripts for genz😭
MY Man needs to venture out of the 'out of breath but I will keep on rambling' dialogues tho!
I would say same for tarukh. He also is amazing
Jammy could you elaborate further on this? Would love to hear your opinion.
Please review Bandish Bandits season 2
That show genuinely deserves more limelight. Truly wonderful music and stellar performances.
Was really hoping you'd review Bandish Bandits. I felt the second season, inspite of having a rushed screenplay, told a much deeper story.
Not really a huge movie person. However, I honestly like your PoV towards films. It gives a fresh perspective, a different approach to look at things. Way better than the 3/5 rating amazing work check 😂
Yesss finally someone mentioned Bandish Bandits! I loved the second season, it had all the ingredients for an amazing watch.
Then at the end he just left that career path because of HER
Do a bandish bandits review at this point jammy😭
Bro see bandish bandits
Season 2 is legit so damm goodd
Loved it ❤
Producing a rut of 2nd rate shows that can be safely put on as inoffensive background noise is a deliberate business strategy for Netflix
I found a similar pattern with Little Things. The first and second season were good, but season 3 was very very slow and boring.
'Order of Pheonix Horny chapter of their lives' Iconic
they target genZ and still create a female lead character who is immature, act out of logic, selfish and bold in unwanted situation in the name of independent woman.
Highly recommend sapne vs everyone Tvf
This show is " the kissing booth " franchise of india 😂
Jammmyyyy..pls make a review about bandish bandits as well..cuz i think its us audience who is pushing mediocre shows like mismatched by always giving it a chance it the name of guilty pleasure..but i am sorry its not even that also bcuz its that bad..and man I hate dimple so fuckin much..like I don't know if any character from all the series I have watched had goten on my nerves that much..I think we should give shows like bandish bandit a lot more love and appreciation than this freakin mess
Do a review on Bandish Bandits Season 2 ! These are the kind of shows that GenZ needs ❤️
I am glad you made this. I agree to the line you said it feels so exhausting to watch the series and how shallow each characters are
I am Genz and Its been YEARS, I have rarely watched any movie/show in this industry.
I don't have enough time to try different shows then think whats better.
3:33 so apt, I felt so much similar Vibes from this dude and Otis
Why am I not surprised that the director of this show (btw I haven't watched it), and Ishq vishk rebound is Nipun Dharmadhikari? And why am I also not surprised that both feature Rohit Saraf?
If possible I would recommend you to watch ‘The Day of the Jackal (TV series)’ it’s a good series.
If you watch the season 2 and season 3 review of anmol it's pretty much same just like the series.
P.s. ( indian audience deserve better 😭🙏)
I am GenZ .. me and all my friends hated it..
SO GEN Z HATE THIS! thats the statement.
0-0 draw vs Everton it's really frustrating being an arsenal fan
Bhai we need a left winger and striker so badly. Martinelli couldn't even beat 39 yr old ashley young
not buying a striker was already a red flag. Liverpool is going to take it this season
@@TriedRefusedProductions if they dont fuck up yes but if they do chelsea is right behind for a comeback
99% 😂
04:53 No, that's not the subplot, it's where the funding came from, for the renewal of this season. I hope you get aware of how the world works, so you could review better.
Mismatched S3 ❌
Wannabe "Sex Education" ✅
I think in the process of writing dimple’s character as a self aware, all knowing, independent girl, they projected her as a complete narcissist, a bully, carrying a negative energy with her at all times.
She stops talking to her mother after her father passes away, BUT WHY?
She makes a fool out of Rishi.
She is impossible to bear on screen.
Makes you wonder, WHAT DOES RISHI EVEN LIKE IN HER?
The absolute bitterness?
Or
The sheer arrogance and ignorance?
I watched this cringefest of a show only for Zeenat and Sid. Loved their dynamic and love story. I just wish that the show was about them. It would have been way better.
I couldn’t agree more with this review. Everything I was feeling on Friday after watching the show, you said it out loud!
Jammy after watching this season..
Dheere dheere se kho gaye... dheere se kho gaye 🤣🤣
What I loved about season 3 was the bond shown between Anuradha and Aalif. Aalif was the best thing in season 3.
